  • wow jens actually knows how to use autotune properly

  • @12disneyhater especially since this particular thing is a vocoder, not auto-tune. Cheers. :)

  • When I have kids, they will listen to minds mirrors. No doubt!

  • I like to think of the first really rumbly bits as the guitar players strumming a chord and thinking 'guys, I think we finally tuned too low...'

  • It's been a long time since I've experienced such a sincere form of melancholy. Beautiful piece of art.

  • there shud definitly be a dubstep remix of this... :D

  • unbelievably brilliant

  • The major chord effect on the guys voice sounds really out of place :O

  • @Beefforyou Everything in catch thirty-three is out of place. That is why it is such a great concept album!

  • does anyone know what the lyrics are about exactly? it sounds like there is some carl jung influence

  • @CORNP00 I know your comment is really old, but the whole album is a concept album and every song revolves around paradoxes.

  • @CORNP00 What I got out of it is its about some guy feasting on himself.

  • the lyrics are so beautiful

  • That bass effect is fucking freaky... I love it.

  • Agh this is so scary :O 2:00 +

    Scary shit :o

  • The sound in the beginning of this song is the sound of Chuck Norris taking a shit.

  • @rosered316 lollloll

  • talk-box? :O

  • The beginning reminds me of Sun O))))

  • @stopglobalswarming Please don't mention drone metal crap on a video about meshuggah!

  • This song is even more intense if your high and you put on some headphones or listen through a loudy basy stereo. its amazing.

  • Eclipse the golden mirror.. and the reflection is set free..

  • @IaJagon Vision will blind. Severance ties. Median am I. True are all lies.

  • @MortonGoldthwait Sum ~a complete paradox

  • The only time I've ever seen vocoders done right in metal.

  • this would be a great song for Dead Space.

  • the bass in the biginning is BEAST

  • anybody know any other songs or bands like this?

  • You can try Sybreed, they are influenced by Meshuuggah.

  • Just listen to Meshuggah. There are other great progressive metal bands but you'd be hardpressed to find anything like these guys.

  • or Cynic

  • nice name

  • Periphery, Tesseract, Uneven Structure

  • I haven't found the official lyrics to this, nor have I sought them out, where as you may have, thus gotten it correct. However, I'd always thought he said: "The twinned insane engaged in the mirrored act of chewing away at the shell of my attacking self." Or else, "...the twin insane..."

Is anyone certain which it is?

It seems that to say 'the twin & same engaged in the mirrored act' as you wrote in the notes,is redundant.Any clarification meandering about?

ps:Great post with a fantastic pic!

  • I hear "twin and same." Listen to the echoes of his voice, and you can clearly hear that the word he says ends in an "m."

Also, I interpret it to mean the mind's reflected image of self.

  • Yes,I heard that too,but syntax-wise,it seems very odd.A twin is identical, especially when adding reflected mirror images to the fray. The mind doesn't have fraternal twins.Mirrors don't add beauty marks or other distinctions,so it's obviously the same body.Just seemed like a double redundancy if it's a reflected image of a twin & the same. Not saying he doesn't say "& same", just doesn't feel like he should to me.Which always allowed me to hear it the other way,so I inquired.Thanx for the reply:)

  • the twin and same is the correct lyric for that part. think MPD (multiple personality disorder). two people, one body/soul.

  • hence "the paradox"

  • exactly.

  • YEAH!!!

  • that picture underneath the music is very intense.pretty creepy:-)

  • wats it about

  • You have the lyrics over there ------>

    Try figuring it out. =P

  • @Gibbe9925 technically not ------> any more

  • wow this song is aweome !!!!

  • The wonderful madness!

  • Jens kidman is a fuckin' genius!

"The feeding frednzy of my starving soul, gnawing voraciously..at the bone.", holy shit that was deep...

  • Haake wrights most of the lyrics.

    But yes, its fantastic!

  • @Gibbe9925 I felt jens actually wrote them himself, most dissapointed..
