  • Um.....extended canter much?

  • Horse never galloped. There was merely some extension of the canter. The videos on horses that "expertvillage" has posted are all very unimpressive. I find most of them to have lots of inacurate information in them.

  • that was good, but its an extended canter, not a gallop. And btw racehorses go much faster than that :L

  • I know what a hand gallop is, and that wasn't it. That was an extended canter.

  • not to be mean or anything but my definition of a gallop is a horse at his/her's top speed....

  • he is not happy lol

  • For all of you saying that was a canter, it wasn't. By gallop she doesn't mean an out of contol gallop, but a hand gallop where your still in control. And hand galloping is when your horse simply lengthens their stide an has a little increase in speed, which hers did.

  • @webshanbeau A gallop is a four beat gait while canter has 3. A gallop has a moment of suspense when all four feet are off the ground. That was not a gallop.

  • Thata was a uh canter!

  • All she did was extend the canter.....that wasn't a gallop.

  • Nice lookin horse!!!!!!!!!!!:-)

  • that was a canter.........

  • that was a canter not a gallop jeeez!

  • my 13 year old friend could show you a better gallop than that :p

  • that wasnt a gallop

  • THAT WAS A CANTER! and yes, i did see her pulling back when the horse went for gallop :L

  • hand gallop*

  • That was an extended canter... Not a gallop..

  • That was a VERY slow, unrealistic gallop

  • that was a canter not a gallop trust me i know what a gallop looks like!

  • Canter canter canter!

  • Wooooaahh your styrups are really long...... could just be mee but at the beginning they look really long like 4 holes to long

  • @bridieiscool123 I thinks they're fine, not long at all

  • hat was a nice buck...

  • @ashleylovesmakeup123 that wasnt a buck

  • There is a very very old gait which was called "gallop" or "galop". It was a two beat gait where the horse springs from it's two back feet to it's two front feet continuously. You can still see it in practice in the Spanish Riding School just before they perform moves such as the courbette or capriole as the horse gathers itself. Perhaps she was trying to achieve this? But to try a full 4 beat gallop in a school is madness, especially on a circle!

  • u were just cantering! u need to have more space! that circle u had him in just slowed him down

  • .......umm isnt 2point the same as halfseat? idk we don use tht term at my barn

  • Comment below me--- you don't really need to be waaay off the horses back, you just need to be off enough to let the horse move, half seat is fine, she is off the horses back, and he's able to move... And I agree with you on the circle part, the horse could put a foot wrong and come crashing down...

  • You dont gallop in a circle like that!!! That is stupid and dangerous and you need a better 2 point. that was half seat.

  • a) thats not a 2-point, just a half seat

    b) if you were trying to gallop a horse, it shouldnt be put on a circle

    c) that was a slightly extended canter

  • There is only like 2 strides of gallop gurrrll.

  • your not mean to gallop in an arena. It is very dangerous

  • WHERE'S THE GALLOP!?

  • darlynkt- the only reason she pulled back is because the horse was in the wrong lead and he tried to buck. plus, he was out of control

  • that was a lope when the horse went into a gallop she pulled back!!!1

  • Control your horse

  • Is the horse just that fast!? I didn't see the gallop!

  • so where was the gallop then ? maybe i blinked

  • Comment removed

  • Just a hint.. when making a video for galloping, when he finally stops restraining, dont pull him back as if hes doing something wrong, at 0.42 he was in the perfect pace and was about to go, and you stopped him? Better luck in the future, but as a rider i can relate because galloping is so much easier outside in an open space!

  • Did I miss the gallop?

  • That was a canter. Only 2 seconds of galloping.

  • one the gallop is a 4 beat and it has a moment of suspention in the air and the horse would have been flying around the areana and she did pull him back and a lovely 2 pt for a gallop no way!!!!

  • Sorry but, I only saw like two strides of gallop? I think she should have taken her around the entire arena to be able to open up some more..

  • That didn't look very much like gallop.. more like canter to me.

  • ... umm where was the gallop mate :L

  • @springie6879 usual over exaggeration of riding. In the uk ive never heard of people yabbering on about two points and a hunter seat

  • this horses is beautiful! amazing movement, i want him lol

  • if you think you are galloping or that a gallop is only 2 beats you have no idea what you are talking about.....

  • My horse is a retired racehorse and goes173740301538x better than that slow horsey

  • and I would not call that galloping at all... the horses a, did not have his head which would make it easier for him to gallop, you kept pulling him/her back nor b, was s/he given enough space to do so. I would say this is more of an extended canter than a gallop

  • actually, gallop is a 4 beat gait, where all 4 feet are on the ground at different times and at one point is even suspension with all four feet off the ground.

  • she should have used the whole arena or a field to gallop.

  • She couldvve easilllyy galloped down the longside....but all i saw was a big canter, not a gallop.

  • @cantyouread2

agreed... at 0:42 the horse wanted to gallop, but she pulled him back and i think i saw a little kick in there

  • @molly54ful Exactly! She kept pulling him back

  • @cantyouread2 me too! gallop is supposed to have more power and speed! :O

  • that looked more like a faster canter she did pull him back a bit.

  • gallop you saY

  • Small area my ass, its huge!!

  • u guys r rude obviously she is trying....she is not gonna make her horse do something big in a small area, she did gallop for a bit so dont be so rude

  • @gothgothic8, i agree, so guys, don't argue with me, but it's really hard to do a gallop in an arena like that, but she did show us HOW to do it, but didn't do enough because the arena is too small, and that works for me, just as long i know what to do if i do one, XD, Thank you expertvillage girl

  • Well, the video shouldn't be called: How to Gallop a Horse if that's not what's in the video. Regardless of how much space she had, when the video is about galloping, that's what we expect to see.

  • @IRunWithThePack yeah that was somewhat cantering

  • haha adorable horse! Only galloped for a stride and a half and then cantered again but it is really hard to gallop in such a tiny space!

  • lameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee who nags horse riders

  • @samax999 no its not a gallop. my horse and other horses do it right. do u even ride horses???? geesh

  • There's a reason this video has more dislikes than likes.

  • Why do all of their riders have spurs??? They don't need them

  • @emziibbz101 putting your leg on :3

  • It IS a gallop. An In-Hand gallop. Do you people even ride? Geesh.

  • lol it doesnt look like a gallop but it looks really comfy

  • umm your not galloping that looks nothing like a race track gallop

  • A gallop is a 4 beat pace not a 2 beat...

  • @horsezrcool1 she said: A TWO BEAT VERSION OFF THE CANTER! READ!

  • @Msmusicca but that doesnt make sense because canter is a 3 beat which would make gallop a 1 beat so HA

  • @horseriderhannah She says two beat version off the canter is 2-2 is 4 HA

  • @horsezrcool1 she said it was a two beat version of a canter ......

  • @horsezrcool1 uhh, if anything it was a 3 beat, cos he was cantering :P

  • is it alright if when your riding you lean forward when having the reins crossed over like a loop sort of like a jokey cos the horse kept pulling against you and not slowing down because i forgot if my horse riding teacher told me to lean forward or not but it made sence cos i had to lean the loop over the horses neck so whenever it pulled it was fighting with itsself

  • @oliviabodycomb and it was in a canter so i went around like looking like a jokey because the horse was very energetic and excited and tensing up

  • Wtf...not a fast canter and umm the buck come on that freaking succks wat does that show u...i know my horse bucks when i give him alot of leg with spurs...but before u post a video actually hgallop instead of a slow canter....how bad

  • It looked like when he tried to actually gallop she pulled him back.... is it just me?

  • @darlynkt

That is what I saw too. The entire ride appears to be 3 beats (a canter) until just before she pulls back and the horse throws his head around and slows right back to a canter.

So I saw a gallop (4 beats) only for maybe 2.5 strides.

  • @darlynkt

Nope it's not just you I saw it as well!

  • Yeah, you got 1 second of gallop somewhere between 0:42 and 0:44 in such small area. Good try. Greetings from Taiwan.

  • I don't see the problem in her riding and the rest of the ring was probably used by someone else

  • dude.. if the space is so small then use the whole arena...

  • WTF? That wasn't even a fast canter!

  • If your gonna do a video about galloping it helps if you actually gallop for more than three strides!!!!

  • Well done you berly galloped

  • You guys need to stop freaking out she said TRY anyways its a small space.... but she should have used the whole ring......

  • @Gem4224 I know right everybodys freaking out! they need a anger management class or something!!!

  • if that space is too small to gallop your horse (which... it is..) why not use the full ring?

    ...just saying...

  • Beautifol horse

  • haha this horse wanted her to eat dirt

  • Nicely done!

  • That is not a gallop trust me.

  • srry hun, but thats a canter. trust me, i know. when my horse gallops you know it. your gone like a rocket and before you know it you at the other end of the feild. XD i think im ognna pole bend him or be a jockey lol

  • the horse is like wtf? lets dump this bitch, she don't even know how to ride properly little alone safely

  • Whats the point about you all comment couse that is seriously just waist of your own time :) I dont think she even cares about what you all say ;)

  • my horse wont even canter withot bucking 3 times

  • why would she try gallop on a circle, in an arena..

    hahahahahahah this is funny shit.

  • ummm im sorry but tht was not a gallop and are u insane even if u were canterin u shud not be tryin a gallop in such a short space

  • when your cantering your suppose to keep your upper half of your body still, even when in a to-point. you moving you body far too much and i might throw your horse off balance.

  • That is not a 2-point. 2 beats, I just laughed. Sorryyy lolol

  • i didnt c a gallop tht was canter

  • @HuckleberryKae half seat is better on your horse's back-due to less interference. When the rider is sitting, they restrict their movement because of the weight concentrated on top of the horse's spine, and not on either side of the ribcage. When urging to go faster though, sitting lightly behind the vertical and applying leg pressure would suffice.

  • That wasn't a gallop that was a canter and horses can't gallop in a small area like that learn how to be a true expert cause i even know how to gallop and I'm not a expert

  • @HuckleberryKae ikr but some people canter out of there seat its kinda goofy but u got a good point

  • Where was the gallop?

  • @ljpop95 There wasn't she just did a bigger canter

  • that isn't a gallop, just a wide leg canter. gallop is where the horse looks asif its almost hovering.

  • all the other videoss in this series i really enjoyed. unfortunately gallop is a 4 beat not 2 or 3 like mentioned in the vid or some commentary. gallop is hard to get in a 20 meter circle considering its fast and one stride can cover 3 or 4 meters. this vid needs to be retitled or maybe just deleted. i did like the others in the series and really didnt like seeing all the hate comments. if you dont like then just click away to a different vid. no need to be nasty about it.

  • gallop is a 3 beated gait

  • @thecowgirlandherhors no it's a 4

  • Guys.. excuss me she tryed.. her horses wasnt good enough to want to... She said TRY TO GALLOP.. and she was up and not sitting cause she was showing u the 2 point so shut up and get ur friken facts straight

  • That was more a canter.

  • What is shown here is more of a ''hand gallop,'' which is really just a quick, extended canter. The title is very misleading, and should be changed.

  • well id hate to see that on the race track..

  • she needs to raise the horses head, he should not be on the bit like a dressage or but more on the bit like a jumper

  • stunning horse but the video doesnt make much sense

  • @horsescanter oh, aww... i didnt know its correct, bleh! lmao :) thanks for telling me!! <3

  • you people are so nasty! you obviously dont know she IS doing gallop, called a "handgallop" that is like a fast canter...

  • i wish i had your confidence, but thats definantly not a gallop. i mean with no disrespect, but i have been riding for 3 weeks and im on the canter level, and i recently started galloping. and i know that what you call a gallop, is only a long stride canter. and a gallop has four beats. bye the way, is your horse an irish draft? my horse is an irish draft and they both look identicle

  • yea great 2-point, and gallop!! XD

  • was the a gallop or a canter, cuz that looked like a canter! LOL

im not galloping yet, so im watching videos to get ready, and this looks easier then i though! am i right is it like a canter????

  • @zerograv9 Yeah, thats a canter! Some expert...

  • @NightSkyRider13 ikr!! hahaha :P yeah i though it was!!! >:( aw i was looking to see a gallop :( aww oh well :P

  • @zerograv9 haha same, I was going to gallop for my riding lesson today but decided to ride bareback :D It was enjoyable.

  • @NightSkyRider13 oh awesome!! i had a lesson too, it was cool. im getting ready to gallop- idk though. hahaha :)

  • @zerograv9 its called a handgallop and it is like a canter but it is considered a gallop:D hope that helps!

  • @horsescanter haha thanks!! yeah that helps, LOL :)

so its just a fast canter, but considered a gallop? OH!! thanks too!! ;D

she should change the title then to "how to HANDGALLOP a horse" right? lol!! :)

  • 2 point and there is no way you can get a gallop in a circal that size----- i dont think your an expert............

  • Expert HA i don't think so O_O

  • Lol definitely not a gallop! And thats not even a correct 2 point.. thats a half seat.. her butt keeps on hitting the saddle -.-

  • thats just cantering

  • That is defo canter at 43 secons she starts to gallop and the you tried to slow her down even though she was doing what you asked for?

  • that isnt galloping its cantering and iam 12 and i know that so ha !

  • umm not to be rude but that was not a gallop. that was just a extended canter.

  • That's canter!

  • Gallop is a 4 beat gait!!!!!!

    Thats canter lol

  • um thats not a gallop!!! but pretty horse :)

  • i gallop all the time at top speed on my thoroughbred :D its sooo much fun

  • @expertvillage GALLOP IS 4 BEAT!

  • Race horses gallop.. That was not a gallop..

  • wow fail that was a canter....... wow i even know that and i havnt galloped

  • epic fail, expertvillage.

  • thats a canter not a gallop....

  • Canter has 3 beats, Gallop has 4. The reason for that is at the canter, the back leg hits, then diagonal pair of legs hit the ground at the same time and then the leading leg, causing 3 beats. At the gallop, it's all the same except the diagonal pair hit individually, instead of simaultaneously.

  • yeah i KNOW what cantering vs. galloping:( Sry to be rude but its true cuz i was thrown from a galloping horse and it was way faster than a silly canter.

  • I just started Cantering off the Lung line and my canter looks like the exact same speed and i am 100% comfortable with it so clearly its not to large of an accomplishment

  • People, wise up, galloping aint a flat out raceing gallop, its just faster then a canter, i bet none of youz would be able to gallop like that

  • WOW seariously stop wasting your time wrighting rude or as you think 'helpful' coments that is really good and she dosent mean as fast as the wind just a little faster that a canter

  • wow, people can't you back off! I bet she's better than you could ever be, and that was gallop. not all gallop has to be at full speed, and not all have 4 beats so give it a rest!

  • No offence but that sucked you should be doing that outside not cantering pitifully in an arena with jumps set up....

  • Gallop is 4 beats,...

  • that wasnt even really close to a gallop, i have been closer than that in a smaller arena than that aswell. as if she could get a gallop in a cirlce that big!.... common sense. that wasnt 2 point either, it is a half seat.. whats she on?

  • She is doing a hand-gallop, which is meant for an arena, if she wanted to do a full gallop, she would have to go out into a pasture or something. However, I don't agree with the hand-gallop being a 2 beat gait......its four beats......

  • i mean the trot is a two beat gait

  • thats a half seat not a two point and the gallop is a four beat gait not 2 i think the trot is 2 but im not sure about the trot

  • For all of you that are saying that isnt a gallop, it is. She wasnt trying to do like a race orse gallop, shes hand galloping so in the arena her horse dosnt get hurt. And she is in a two- point postion, the faster the gallop the higher your two-point , she wasnt racing or anything so her two-point didnt have to be as high.

  • Your horse is very pretty!

  • 0:01

  • Looks like a faster canter to me.....

  • thats the worst two-point position I have ever seen... no offense but when your making an instructional video for people with the intention to teach them.. you should make it very clear what your doing! to a person that doesn't know how to ride they wouldn't have told a difference between your seat and your two point.

but your stirrups were way to long to do a two point anyway. EXPERT village?

    did I read that correctly?.......

  • thats not a gallop that a canter and gallop has Four beats :) it culd really harm your horse trying to gallop in there :)

  • uhh.. At 0:40 , did you guys not see her try to get the horse into the gallop by asking him to speed up! But until then, she decided to do a hand gallop which is nothing the same compared to what you see at the races!!!
