My family takes in homeless children - they're mostly babies. There are so many young mothers stuggling out there. 1 baby that we took in lived in 10 homes by the time he was 13 months. His mom is a great person she just needed a family that would take care of her son on the weekends so she could work a double shift at a nursing home. Well done! Although not all of the children in this video are homeless or homeless Americans, some are homeless children from South America who are in a shelter programme called Hummingbird. Nevertheless, you are trying to get a pt. across. Homeless children-and more so homeless ORPHANED children-are growing in the US.
Luckily majority of these homeless kids live WITH their homeless parents, because I've worked with homeless kids who are orphaned by their parents whether they are on the streets and the parent(s) are dead or they are on the streets and the parent(s) is an addict. I worked w/ 2 boys whose mum was a heroin addict. They were murdered :( in 2008 and their mum didn't know for 2 wks coz she was out getting her smacks. ARGH!
A friend used to do this great trick on the homeless. He would give them cans of beer with a knockout sedative in & after waiting for it to kick in, he went round bundling them into the back of his van and drove several of them miles out of town, dumping them in open countryside.
It would take them days to wander back, and I think several of them expired before reaching civilisation. He would laugh, claiming it was ‘public service’ work & that the Police knew and were fine about it.

@skiss101 absolutely right. I've been working with street kids since 2005. The 1 thing I get angry at is how ppl think all homeless kids have parents. I've worked with many who don't either coz their parent is killed or off drinking heavily or shooting up heroin. It's FAR worse when a child is homeless w/ no parental love.

America doesn't feed the hungry of the world, it arms and doles out cash for the same instead. A child is a child no matter where they are from. me and my friends are having a "party" to decorate shoe boxes and fill them with supplies for the homeless or poor children in america. were defiantly gonna try 10 times harder to get money to donate for the feed the children organization and do you know of any charities we could try to donate too for homeless children. I also wanted to thank everyone who has posted a video response like the musician and the young man who took his summer to walk from florida to DC for this cause. I am glad that this video has touched people and given them the drive to stop this plight. Times are tough for many this year, and even more so around the holidays, but remember, if you can spare 5 dollars in your xmas shopping, a homeless child can open a present christmas day, find a local organization collecting in your area.

It would be nice if they explained what needs to be done. Most cities have childrens services and that they would find temporary homes for them. Foster homes are not overall a good solution but they would be fed and clothed. Many people would adopt or be a foster parent who care.

Well done! Although not all of the children in this video are homeless or homeless Americans, some are homeless children from South America who are in a shelter programme called Hummingbird. Nevertheless, you are trying to get a pt. across. Homeless children-and more so homeless ORPHANED children-are growing in the US.

Luckily majority of these homeless kids live WITH their homeless parents, because I've worked with homeless kids who are orphaned by their parents whether they are on the streets and the parent(s) are dead or they are on the streets and the parent(s) is an addict. I worked w/ 2 boys whose mum was a heroin addict. They were murdered :( in 2008 and their mum didn't know for 2 wks coz she was out getting her smacks. ARGH!

A friend used to do this great trick on the homeless. He would give them cans of beer with a knockout sedative in & after waiting for it to kick in, he went round bundling them into the back of his van and drove several of them miles out of town, dumping them in open countryside.
It would take them days to wander back, and I think several of them expired before reaching civilisation. He would laugh, claiming it was ‘public service’ work & that the Police knew and were fine about it.

@skiss101 absolutely right. I've been working with street kids since 2005. The 1 thing I get angry at is how ppl think all homeless kids have parents. I've worked with many who don't either coz their parent is killed or off drinking heavily or shooting up heroin. It's FAR worse when a child is homeless w/ no parental love.

word. thas dope. thas ths tha truth. i came home from playin outside when i was 4 an my mom was dead on the couch because she overdosed. since then i lived on the streets and hated group homes because they jus as crooked as some parents. but im doin good now, i got out of em from the help of my amazing social worker and learned how to read and write 6 years ago when i was 18. so its dope an not a lot of ppl understand thats why i educate em as much as i can!

Criminals are treated better than the homeless. The criminals get fed 3x a day, a bed, somewhere safe and warm to stay in. Jail isn't the Hilton, but getting that kind of treatment is better than what the homeless gets. That's ridiculous.

America doesn't feed the hungry of the world, it arms and doles out cash for the same instead. A child is a child no matter where they are from. The government should be strung up for the things it wastes money on and subsidizes with hungry or homeless, especially children, in America, irrespective of any other issue.

me and my friends are having a "party" to decorate shoe boxes and fill them with supplies for the homeless or poor children in america. were defiantly gonna try 10 times harder to get money to donate for the feed the children organization and do you know of any charities we could try to donate too for homeless children. Our plan is to have people pledge for every mile we run in 2 mnths they donate so many dollars. were only 14 so if u have any ideas thatd be helpful thanks :) great video!

I also wanted to thank everyone who has posted a video response like the musician and the young man who took his summer to walk from florida to DC for this cause. I am glad that this video has touched people and given them the drive to stop this plight. Times are tough for many this year, and even more so around the holidays, but remember, if you can spare 5 dollars in your xmas shopping, a homeless child can open a present christmas day, find a local organization collecting in your area.

It would be nice if they explained what needs to be done. Most cities have childrens services and that they would find temporary homes for them. Foster homes are not overall a good solution but they would be fed and clothed. Many people would adopt or be a foster parent who care.

Great idea idiot! Let's make the kids even more traumatized by ripping them out of their parents hands so they can be raised by a scary complete stranger. Why don't Americans get it? I am American but I get it. The problem is the dog eat dog system of capitalism which makes many sacrafice for the profit of a few. It doesn't help children to go from a homeless real parent to a rich non-parent. You are just messing them up further. Get a clue and an English lesson.

This is the only reason i get up everyday of my llife. When i am older and graduate and stuff i am opening a homeless shelter for chilren..and so they can be adopted and have a place to call home. (: And so they have a warm bed, a warm meal and education. (:

And what are the multi-million-dollar owners doing? They are sociopaths, looking at the situation and feeling nothing. Now you know what you can expect from share holders and managers in big corporations. Just give them what they're giving to you. Even if you was employed for 20 years, the corporation has no reponsibility, no heart and no feeling for you. Don't work for them. Its no difference at all. Get rid of the rich.

Seems to be alot of people commenting, and very few actually doing something, This is the number 1 homeless children video documentary in the world. I appreciate everyones support. Pointing fingers at whos to blame doesnt solve the issue, get off your ass and do something is the only way to fix this problem. Talk is cheap.

I am sorry to say but capitalism has eroded the true sense of community and true socialism and democracy. Anyway, capitalism doesn't work, just like Mum said, 'don't be greedy' 'share' and 'don't squander', 'respect your elders, others, and your environment.' ..So capitalism is going to have to be replaced, for ' The meek shall inherit the earth.'
