  • I just want to say thanks to my Dad who introduced me to Counting Crows.

I was only 10 but I became absolutely obsessed, listening everyday and learning the lyrics by heart. I didn't have a clue what any of it meant... it's so nice now listening back and gone through life to understand the lyrics.

  • to those who are critical of a truly great song i say you are dumbasses without enough life experience, after 21 yearss in not so perfect blue buildings i tell you that inside everyone there is a dead man trying to get out. Grow up!

  • im ,y top 10

  • one of my favorite songs everrrr

  • im not sure ALL monkeys do what they see...i mean michael jacksons monkey Bubbles didn't end up in court did he???

  • 6 perfect blue buildings disliked this video.

  • this album is a must have...everything about it is pure poetry

  • that what u call good music

  • Potentially their greatest song. But won't be ever be really recongized.

  • @salparadise63

    i agree

  • I used to kinda feel like this song was a prophecy about 9/11.

  • They've got an attitude of everything I ever wanteddd. <3 Duritz.

  • Listen to this music until the rest of the world wakes up or rail a line of ambien so my mind can finally get some rest tonight...? That is the question.

  • I'm sure everyone can relate to this song--the monotony of life, getting depressed as a result. Mix it up, love and enjoy life to the fullest!

  • These guys are way to underrated

  • i agree phree i grew up in the 90s expierimented with lsd shrooms and speed. i used to be so depressed and this music would take me to a place where loathing and sadness was ok today it does the opposite we r survivors my friend

  • It sounds like his experience in Greece or somewhere like that . . . he's so cute . . . great song!

  • 4:30 am on a tuesday>>>>> Been there brother. and wed. and thursday and ........

  • Man this song reminds me of sitting in my car, with a back seat of Guiness, and I know oblivion is coming. Yet I hesitate...then I drink the first one down hard......I want to get me some oblivion, baby...I want to keep myself away from myself and me.

  • my favorite song 10 years ago.. :)

  • It's fucking about addiction!!!!!!!!! believe me I know and everybody else that has gone through it...It Sucks...perfect blue buildings..

  • @RyDawg084 I think addiction is only a small piece of the song...I think it's more focused on depression.

  • I imagine walking down the streets of New York City on a cold cloudy day when I listen to this.

  • I love the line "Beneath all the dust and love and sweat that hangs on everybody, is a dead man trying to get out" to me it implies that everyone has a dark depressed side to them that is trying to take over their life. Sometimes the worst person to be with is yourself. I relate so much to this song. As much as I try to pretend I still feel meaningless sometimes... We all feel worthless and try not to let our "dead man" show....

  • @LaylaRaine13 you know being meaningless has a great freedom to it

  • I KNOW EVERY SONG AND EVERY WORD. HOW ABOUT THAT

  • Comment removed

  • my favourite song to improvise along to on guitar, such a lovely key for solos and scales!

  • "i got bones beneath my skin mister/there's a skeleton in every man's house" is exquisite. a beautiful and haunting song.

  • this is a great album as good 2 day as yesterday

  • keep your head up super we all have a dead man trying to get out i love this you have a new start every day just stay away from us

  • i been listen to this song since i was a baby and my dad used to sing it to me to go to sleep so it reminds me off happier times like when my 21 year old uncle waz still alive and my parents were still married i miss it

  • this guy is shear genius one hell of a song writer i relate so much to his music

  • i had this album well befor it went public

  • @riverphoenix007 want a medal for it?

  • @riverphoenix007 really? how is that possible?

  • This song is so awsome in so many ways. I wonder what he actually ment. Is it about drug addicts?! aids? mental illness? Maybe it`s just my interpertation and it`s something completly different! Don`t you miss the times when songs astually had a message and a meaning???

  • @Tiza123m yes.

  • About this time of year, crows are beginning to flock together to fly south for the winter . . . you can spend much time counting crows this time of year I guess. I love this album . . . it kept me okay when I was homeless in Grand Junction, Colorado, for a brief period. Very healing . . .

  • i used to sleep in a perfect blue building in hollywood, i miss old days

  • my mum listened to this cd when she was pregnant with me and my sister who is 22 loves them to im 14 and i think they are great :)

  • Man, I'd heard this song a million times since I was a kid, but when the doctor tells me I have narcolepsy I noticed how much I could relate to this song. "I stay at home with my disease...help me stay awake I'm fallin'...asleep in perfect blue buildings..." Idk, but the album August And Everything After has helped me through all my life. Born in August and the first song I ever remember hearing was Mr. Jones in a dream I remember at 3 y/o. Thanks for always being there Counting Crows.

  • Can you pls make one for Anna Begins? I want to post it on FB but there isn't even one good video out there..

  • Damn! I miss the 90's!! I listened to this album everyday for 2 years... not a bad song on the album... A classic... sad I don't listen to music anymore :(

  • @stucker78 -- I feel the same way. Best CD of my life. Im 25. This album defines my whole life. Nice post bro..

  • Oh yea Adam at his best....Cool song.

  • I can totally picture duritz singing while sitting in a big comfy chair at his house. His voice is just so effortless

  • My father always listened to counting crows

since that time I love counting crows and I will always

  • @themooddisorders

    That's what he said.

  • I love everything to do with Counting Crows and this is by far their best album!

  • 4 people couldn't sleep in perfect blue buildings..

  • This was and is My Album when it came out, Title and the Songs, My reality. I am so glad that I can listen to this song now and not feel like dying, but now knowing & feeling I was there once and where I am today. Time takes more time than we're willing to give it. Its really worth it . You'll grow if you stay..

  • @phree2b roots man!

  • love all of this album.. one of the best ever

  • I wanna get me a little oblivion too....

  • this is one of those albums where you can listen to the whole cd and not skip a single track ever. those kid of albums are few and far between. local h is my fav band but this album is in my top 10 fav albums of all time.

  • I like how the drum beat is the same throughout the song

  • @PieDenie thanks for telling me that!

  • I'm SO glad this album exists.... it's amazing. It doesn't overdo itself musically/stylistically, but it's still so IMPRESSIVE and well-made.

It's beautiful... it's rare to find an album with this perfect balance of beauty, humility, wonder... just right.

  • i got bones beneath my skin, there's a skeleton in every man's house

  • You got an attitude of everything I ever wanted..

  • The Counting Crows are One of the Best Bands to come out of the 90's.

  • this song always reminds me of a perfect blue building i lived besides the green Caribbean sea, sad times, very sad, loneliness was killing me big time.

  • Adam Duritz is the best at writing lyrics!

  • this song reminds me of the time in my life when I was really considering ending it.

"I wana get me a little oblivion baby." and "trying to keep myself away from me." all really speaks to me of that time.

  • I can remember many nights driving in Ft. Worth in the 90's listening to this CD and haven't stopped yet. This is the only band I can think of other than Nirvana that has a genre named for them. It's called Americana.

  • @chrismitchell45 Counting Crows are not "Americana". Americana is folk/country-style music with an R&B influence

  • Lovely song, lovely lyrics, can be interpreted in so many ways...

  • i'm having a holiday. Actually beside a green apple sea. it's a good distraction (the holiday. the song is not a distraction, of course. it's something deeper. ;) ).

  • hey Marz.. listen to every track from CC you will find a friend in every track.. believe me kept me alive .... much love to ya.. listen to August.. you will find yourself again

  • The music, lyrics...only allow us to feel. To experience feeling. to sense empathy.....his voice carries eerie emotion...." You've got an attitude of everything I've ever wanted...I've got an attitude of need...................

  • Great song! I love this cd!

  • stay at your house w/ your disease

while the rest of us.. sleep at ease!

keep ur disease away from me ..

and we wont have any reason to apease... love the song/hate the msg

  • Oh I really do love counting crows :D They are brilliant :)

  • this is without arguement one of the best albums from the 90s

  • i'm 15, and ashamed that so amy of my generation listen to miley cyrus and kanye west. it's a shame such amazing music is overlooked becuase it's 'too old'. most of the music i listen to is at least 5 years old, cos no one makes decent music much anymore!

  • @rosygirl52 i disagree with you its just harder to find ;)

  • @rosygirl52 its refreshing to see a taste so refined at such a fragile age.

  • @rosygirl52 My 23 year old has loved the Counting Crows since she was little and still listens to this album on every roadtrip :)

  • @rosygirl52 omg im 14 i feel the same way :3

counting crows is sooooooo much better than the shit teens listen to now

i showed my friends this and they loved it :P

  • @pedrorockssocks123 i'm 13, i love the coutning crows so much, i agree with u a million times better than all that shit that's floating about

  • @ARetardNearYou exactly! im so glad knowing im not the only one that feels that way :)

    counting crows are A M A Z I N G <3333 :)

    bahahahha

  • @rosygirl52 no doubt, @ lest u got good taste

  • @rosygirl52 I agree with you 200%, talent today is viewed as "nothing". It's quite pathetic that society will never allow another John Lennon, or someone else along those lines to share their talent with the world. Only because we believe machines make music, "better". I'm around your age and I listen to just about nothing after the '90's

  • Lady Gaga can go back put her pants on. I mean seriously, this is far greater.

  • @BillionDollarZombie As if u ever have :| loser

  • @homo15 don`t reply to my shit asshole.

  • @BillionDollarZombie shup up u tit .. only an asshole like u would say this reminds u of fingering ... what are u 10 ? Stfu noone wants to hear ur shit :|

Cause that sure makes sence? Urgh immature idiots annoy me .. im not gonna reply to u.. at the end of the day ur the one lookin like the immature child so say what u like.. doesnt bother me :| ..little loser :|

    "Later Kid"

  • @BillionDollarZombie ....hey billiondollarzombie...you remind me of a freak loser. i bet it does remind you of fingerin' pussy but your mom doesn't count...go find the other half of your brain you fucking vacant piece of shit...

  • @supergrover777 If by 'freak loser' you mean a dude who fingers pussy while getting his cock sucked by three bitches, then yeah -- I'm a freak loser.

You shouldn't try and flame comments - ur no good at it ;)

  • @BillionDollarZombie listen dude no one wants to hear your idiot nonsense, with your little smiley faces at the end of your comments. i thought only chicks used those. are you that pathetic? is this the only way people will even halfway pay any attention to you in your life? by posting childish crap on youtube? get your shit together man.......

  • makes me lonely

  • that how i feel i cant keep myself away from me...

  • super lied.... entspannung pur :D

  • A perfect example of a band who had 1 good first album and never was able to do a good thing afterwards. August and Everything After is literally one of the greatest albums of all time. Every Single song on the album is equally good. After that, all they cared about was being famous and their music became so corny like with songs such as "Accidentally In Love". On a more positive note, their newest album is a minor improvement and just maybe I shouldn't give up on them.

  • @billyxc729

actually both recovering the satellites and this desert life were really good to. I agree the stuff in the mid 2000's isnt as good but they had more than one good album

  • @dzuu91 2 really shitty albums

  • @billyxc729

"Recovering The Satellites" and "This Desert Life" are exceptional albums as well, Billy.

  • @billyxc729 Pomposity surges through the airway of that comment. Thanks for endorsing August and Everything After as 'one of the greatest albums of all time', especially as such positivity of hyperbole was preceded by the very negative, but assertive, remark that they weren't 'able to do a good thing afterwards' .

  • Man i grew up to this CD, it brings back so many great memories.

  • i'm gonna get me a little oblivion, baby

  • This is so me... it's frightening...

  • love this album. If possible, can anybody post the song Time and Time again from this album.

    Thanks.

  • i think this song is great. I wish someone would do the lyrics on it....

  • thank you very much for feeling my growing up nights in your spirit.

  • Love them. I started listening to them in 2007, got obsessed with them bought every cd I could find. love love them

  • Love this song.

  • my fav song from them ...ever

  • this is my fav song from them...just luv it!

  • really makes u think

  • ALL MONKEY'S DO WHAT THEY SEE!!!!!!!!

  • @coley0076 not nice

  • LOVE the guitar in this song.....

  • help me stay awake...I'm fallin....

  • Great piece of song writing. Thanks for uploading it. When new, this album was given very good reviews. A quality album with many good songs, and few filler songs. This song, now old, sends me back in time. That's why I like music - it let's me time travel. Thank god for YT where we can archive, download, and enjoy.

  • this song was played at the spreading of ashes for my grandfather he died at 4 30 am on tues in sept on the 15th i cant get over him being gone i miss him soo much does anyone have any advice on how to get over this he was so much like this video during his last 2 yrs of his life.

  • @rodino70 it's the hardest thing to deal with. just remember (at least in my opinion) this is a cold world. and i think after we parish there is a much better place waiting for us. just gotta have faith. im not very overly religious or anything, but i found praying helps. Even if you don't believe in God, open yourself up to a bigger universal power and tell it what's on your mind. You'll feel better. I recommend doing it in the morning also, b4 going about your day.

  • why would anyone thumbs down this. show some fucking respect

  • @funkmasta34110

coming from a perfect blue person ;)

  • @rodino70 the grieving process takes a long time especially if it someone very close to you. all I can suggest is to cry, cry and cry some more. whilst it only provides a short term relief it is best to get it out. if it doesn't shift soon I would also suggest a psychologist. asking for help in times like these is the best possible remedy. i truly feel for you and hope this passes soon xx

  • This always made me cry...

  • once upon a time this song seemed so relevant..and now it doesn't, funny how that works...

  • That is because the Lithium has straighten you out!

  • It will always be relevant to someone.

  • @schetle apologies..I guess I was having a bad day or something, I still love this song, my bad.

  • abselut geiles lied

  • wow, i recently started listening to more of counting crows, they are so underrated, but once again, good music is always overlooked

  • listen to them live. The lead singer sings it way different and i hate to say it but it sucks. So that has to be the only reason why there under rated.

  • @JoeSiz21 He does the same on Anna Begins.

  • @Aboertmann thumbs up! im with you on that!

  • @Aboertmann i think it's the best of the album, good lyrics:)

  • Excelente tema y genial organo Hammond.
