That doesn't make sense. You cannot compare a person against him or herself. Singers are compared against each other. Technically Holiday is a better singer than Hudson who is often sharp, stumbles over lyrics, and screeches beyond her range.

They both have different styles, and Hudson's interpretation of this song is different from the original. In my opinion it doesn't sond like Holiday is singing in this recording. but grunting or yelling. She is very talented, but this particular recording doesn't do it for me.

But that is just my opinion, not saying it is factual or anything. I think Hudson is trying to make a name for herself.. not just be compared to Holiday..which seems to happen a lot, even when she isn't singing this song.
