Being of a Prog background I appreciate the use of chorus and reverbs as they add such a dynamic texture to the music. I doubt there are too many critics that will accuse him of leaning on these things due to a lack of talent. His stacato picking is unmatched.
He provided the soundtrack for my life when I was living in the Caribbean in the early 80s. I wore out his tapes in my walkman, and would sit overlooking Drakes Passage listening to this beautiful music.
I think al puts on a good show, in ~1985 caught him with his trio in Madison Wisconsin, what a relaxing performance ... at the end of the night he commented at how quiet we all had been ... really was a class act and he had a guitar synthesizer that was with sounds to be haunted by forever... thanks for posting.
I wish he would've done Vertigo Shadow and/or Traces of a Tear!! But this is a historical document dude! It's hard to find the live versions of the Cielo e Terra material... Thanks for posting it

Thats so cool because much of the music of this album always conjured up images of corral reefs and sandy beaches to me.

Al's secret is that he's actually a percussionist masquerading as a guitarist. That why few can beat this guy.
