I love watching this guy skate! He seems to really enjoy skating too, I hope he will get another chance at the Olympics as he continues to improve his abilities!
And when the interviewers asked him how he feels about this Olys, he said that he takes full responsibility for his mistake and just wants to start practicing ASAP...
Now that's the attitude of an Olympian - so many guys complained that the judges were unfair, ice was too soft, the draw order was bad for them - but the one skater that truly had bad luck didn't say a word of complain and just thanked the audience for cheering him on when the lace broke. My respect!
Oda amazing jumps so smooth. Footwork sequence he became tired and it showed. Lacked Takahashi's fresh flair. But Chaplin program is brilliant so stay tuned.
Fast twizzles in the circular footwork. Solid jumps, fast spins. Just not an exciting program. I LOVE his Chaplin program, and it tends to score high. The point spread is so narrow, any of the top 4 could win at this point.
Yes, his skating skills(effortless speed, edges, flow over the ice and ease of acceleration, his soft knees and his under-stated power) is one of the best I have ever seen.
and his jumps are indeed "out of this world".
FYI, this is exactly what Mr. Toller Cranston said about Midori Ito at the 1988 Worlds.

Nobu's PCS at 2009 TEB SP.......34.80
at 2009 Cup of China.SP.............36.65
at 2009 GPF SP..............................39.85
Excellent performance from Oda! His jumps are just out of this world.
My one wish is that he would change his SP or go back to an old one... I think Nobunari's music is a bit too monotonous and less exciting than some of the other elite guys and it hurts his PCS.
I wish him best of luck in the LP! I hope he enchants the audience (and judges) with his wonderful Chaplin program.

Nobu's jumps is very clean, flawless. But It lack a sparkling effect. Hope to watch a inspired long program. Good luck.

普通に良かったけど音楽に気持ちを入れ込むって点では上位二人にちょっと及ばなかったかな?
でも98点という高得点続きのプレッシャーの中そつなく滑りきったのは大きいね!

He reads the timing for the jumps very well. Thats probably why he's very consistant on jumps. And yes, his skating skill is superior.

Great jub, Nobu! Good luck in the LP!
I just love his jumps and skating skills. His SS should be the highest in the competition.
