@othercousin... When you play at a bar or a coffee house, re-tuning to different alternate tunings is a sure way to break strings. So, you HAVE to figure out how to play Doobie Brothers stuff in Standard. Unless you carry several guitars, which I have done. One standard, one open G, one DADGAD.
