PETA and their tactics are giving themselves a bad name. Their message of ethical treatment for animal is getting lost in ludicrous behavior and idiotic protests. They are their own worst enemy.
I support PETAs' efforts as animals need a voice but i have worked in an animal shelter and they have almost all mutts in them ..so we cant really blame qualified breeders for an abundance of mixed-breed animals in shelters.
I'm not crazy or an idiot... my best friend was at the dog show where it happened. She shows dogs professionally which is why I was at Wesminster to begin with. I'm all for adopting a mixed breed dog, but PETA people can sometimes act a little crazy and get carried away.
I would have loved it if one of those dogs bit them, but security acted quickly. You could tell from the yells how much support they got from the people there.
Certainly not the worst or most outrageous thing PETA has done, but they are wrong. We should be encouraging RESPONSIBLE breeders. So many dogs die in shelters because too many people are letting their dogs get pregnant by accident or breeding for the wrong reasons. It doesnt matter WHERE your dog is from, STOP OVER-BREEDING

I don't hate purebreds, I hate the people who breed them for money. They should be boycotting the BYBs and the Puppy mills, people who won't be within 100 miles of a dog show. Not the people who put thousands of dollars in to make sure the pups are healthy, go to great homes, and are happy.

Good for them. I've shown dogs before and I never wish to do it again. The dog showing/breeding crowd is the most pretentious, competitive, stuck up, and unpleasant...maybe second only to the horse showing crowd.

Well considering at a recent dog show, PETA put anti-freeze in the dog bowls while they were out. They almost killed them all if a handler hadn't noticed. How is that an ethical treatment of animals??

The Westminster dog show partners with Pedigree to inform people with each commercial and during the show to go and get their dog(s) from an animal shelter, why rain on WM's parade? I'm glad they were arrested, if they don't like the sport then they should stay away. PETA doesn't care for the animals, they just want to control everybody.
