  • Let me guess, when the smoke trail ends the rocket is in space???

  • @IJUSTSUBSCRIBENOW No, when the smoke ended, thats when the boosters burned out. The main engines burn for another 6 min. to get to space with no visual exhaust.

  • wow beautiful video. it must be so cool to witness this from a plane hehe!

  • The small and great hand of humankind is reaching towards Heaven, crossing into the wondrous endless void that forever captivates us.

100 years ago, Titanic was the latest mechanical marvel. In that age, the technology of now was something you could only dream.

  • Thank you ........ amazing video

  • mashable.com/2011/12/30/youtube-best-videos/

  • Congratulations! That is SO cool !!

  • Your video just gave me an idea for a video.

  • What airline was this?

  • iron man !

  • LOL My name is Brian, I'm from NY and this was posted 2 days after my birthday xD

  • luks like d plane is in space, hows that ?

I madea video in tribute to the space program, search for

    GOODBYE SPACE SHUTTLE

    (HD)

enjoy too, you are a lucky guy

  • amazing.....great video

  • OMGggg that is amazinggggggg

  • You should put a watermark, watch my video of the Endeavour =)

  • this is the future combined to a single epic video! an average person picks out his smartphone to record a digital video of a live feed from a space shuttle launch on a 24hr news station airing on his personal screen in a commercial jet aircraft while flying past the trajectory of said space shuttle. please tell me you also uploaded this mid air!

not even jules verne could have imagined this

  • I always wanted to be an astro-man

  • that big long smoke snake you see would be about over 400 miles long from my calculations, absolute insane and incredible.

  • this is mindblowing

  • Great footage ! I'm not sure what the extra "lights" are at the end (possibly separation of a SRB but difficult to be sure as footage is "split"). NB the main engines burn cleanly and give off very little of anything other than water vapour. Interesting to see the angle of ascent too - the shuttle needs horizontal speed as much as vertical.

NASA and the shuttle missions are without doubt the most amazing thing mankind has ever done. Wait for the results from the AMS .....

    Many thanks !

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  • ONLY IN AMERICA!!

  • No lugar certo, na hora certa...

  • Wow !!!! One of the most impressive videos i've ever seen !!!

  • LOL who could possibly dislike this?

  • @shonor6 it's possible if you'r a "Bin-Laden type of guy", because the ship made it...

  • Soooo cool! Did you see the solid rocket booster separation as well, aprox. 2:30 after the launch? Wow, that thing goes up, man! Very RARE opportunity to get this sight.

  • i was waiting for the 'BOOOMMMM!!!!!'.. probably not the only one :3

  • Пътешествие започва...

  • i could be the first to dislike...but there is no way in hell i can!!! this is too fregin kool!!!!

  • Wow!!!! This is simply amazing. Makes me so glad to be alive.

  • wow thats freaking cool.. lucky that you were on that plane

  • OH.. MY.. GOD.. I WISH I HAD BEEN ON THAT FLIGHT.

  • As a lifetime fan of American rocketry from the X-1 to the shuttle program,I can't thank you enough for this amazing video.Great job from a very envious viewer.

  • Great job making this recording! Thanks for sharing it with everyone! -- Rich

@PhilistineTheArtLuvr: have no worries about this. The shuttle follows a standard trajectory to orbit. Everyone everywhere who deals with launching things to orbit knows about these things; they are not secret.

  • amazing!

  • Very, very cool!

  • sick!

  • This video should be confiscated. Stop showing it. This should be top secret as it has always been. Now our enemies will know that rockets don't go up straight into space but rather curve up into it. This is very tragic. Our future has been compromised. God bless America.

  • @PhilistineTheArtLuvr lol do me a favor and log off of youtube you F-ing weirdo

  • It would be a shame well your looking and all of a sudden it explodes.

  • You lucky SOB!!! >:D

  • @galexypa No, bush is the one who canceled the program, Obama just agrees that it is time for a new, more reliable program.

  • I remember when i saw the space shutter lunch from an airplane.. it was AMAZING

  • I remember when i saw the spaceshutter lunch from an airplane.. it was AMAZING

  • awesome brian!!!! :)

  • do you know that's nasa never exict without the german officers in ww2

they are old nazi technology ! its treu !!!!!

  • Unfortunately the future of space travel is private corporation ventures rather than government funded missions.

  • wow that is amazing!

  • Bush cancelled the shuttle program Obama didn't fund a replacement but if you think manned space flight isnt happening your crazy. We have a drone that can go in to space you cant tell me there isn't a new system or rehashed old system(Apollo) Nasa is the civilian space program but to think the military isnt sending people up independent of NASA is just stupid

  • @master582 pretty sure Obama was the one that stopped it with all the new reports I looked at about the topic

  • I get chills just by looking at this, must have been more amazing in real time.

  • Incredible opportunity. What a shame the image quality was limited by the camera. Was that an iPhone..?

  • it's just amazing!

  • oh this is just very cool

  • This is why I always try to get a window seat; you never know what you might see.

  • @carlsetzer ...and that's why I hate people who grab the window seat and close the shade... if you don't want to look out then take the aisle seat...

  • I thought one of the rays of light at 2:20 looked like something about to hit the shuttle. omg

  • THATS FUCKIN ASOME DUDE !!!!!

  • Obama defunded U.S. Manned Space Flight as of last year.

  • @1ambrose100

what the fuck is the point of this comment. idiot

  • Never seen anything like that...awesome!

  • WAYYYY TOOOOO COOOL !!!..Thanks !!....Love it!

  • viewer 10,000 here to say yup, that was pretty cool

  • Way Cool ! Thanks for sharing!

  • Gave me CHILLS.

  • wowo,,,,no fair, that flight included a front row seat for the shuttle launch, lol

  • I watched the launch from the Causeway. Truely awesome! Thanks for showing us what we did not get to see from the ground. The low clouds ceiling made the launch more dramatic. It was beautiful! Go Endeavour!!! You will be missed...

  • thats amazing
