i love this neat trick when you also use tissue on lead that you shaded which blends the lead together making the shaded area look mixed...i made a night sky with that and used my eraser to draw in clouds...it was pretty sweet

I'm curious to know. The characters in your manga series, did you draw them beforehand or did you plan along with the plot at how you wanted them to look? Do you ever feel inspired by your various drawings and come up with new themes/plots as a reference for possible future manga series.

The thumb nail had me so confused xD I thought that little bump next to it's eye was a nose, the grass in it's mouth was a tongue, and the nose was some kind or ear.
lol harry potter was a terrible example cause those are only published in America, the original (more popular) versions are not published with illustrations.
Your videos are amazing and you are a great teacher to people who are willing to learn this art - you have some great techniques and tips. So to enhance this I suggest you invest in a HD camera, it would make the videos even better; you wouldn't even need to worry about things being too light! :)
Dinosaurs are cool. Might go get a book with some in it. the shading in your illustration is trully amazing. also I found a few of those black prismacolors at my local art store, but they're like $2 a piece, so I didn't get any, plus I'd rather have enough practice with just a regular pencil before using an inking tool.

@itsonlysoul Hey I don't represent Mark Crilley or anything, but I know from his other videos that he doesn't do tutorials for other characters for copyright reasons. But if you look at his cross-hatching technique video he draws a face that is very much influenced/after the style of Tite Kubo

@Dewlight1122 I don't know exactly what paper Mr. Crilley is using but it looks like a smooth watercolor paper. So it is probably a hot press (no tooth) watercolor paper. Strathemore is a good brand, arches too. Hope that helps

I have a dumb question to you...why don't you publish your miki fall manga to become an anime on Japan? Mark...i want to be just like you, when im older i want to become a mangaka, but also want to beable to do these kinda stuff, getting hierd to draw diffrent things other then anime and manga, or maybe to get hierd to draw other anime and manga then my own, idk xD but my point is, your amazing, and i want to beable to draw as good as you do...iv already started to practice acouple years back and joined every art class i could im my high school :3

@itsonlysoul Hey I don't represent Mark Crilley or anything, but I know from his other videos that he doesn't do tutorials for other characters for copyright reasons. But if you look at his cross-hatching technique video he draws a face that is very much influenced/after the style of Tite Kubo

If you like the variety of width in the inking why don`t you try useing nibs?
In Japan nibs are more or less the standard tool for all manga artists. (I prefer brush myself though).

@Dewlight1122 I don't know exactly what paper Mr. Crilley is using but it looks like a smooth watercolor paper. So it is probably a hot press (no tooth) watercolor paper. Strathemore is a good brand, arches too. Hope that helps

Hey mark, i read miki falls summer, and how come the characters mouth is always too high up and with a large chin? you draw WAYY bettter in your tutorials. could it be someone else drawing it?
