I was testing out a moog Murf today and was really impressed by the sound quality. I'm hoping to get one at the end of the month when I get paid but I forgot to ask what the exact price will be. Could anyone enlighten me as to what sort of price I'd be looking at? I know it roughly between £250-£300.
@jofangirvan I know its a little over 400 USD, not sure about pounds though. Keep your eye out for deals on craigslist and ebay. Every now and then you'll find a deal on them. Even though I'm a HUGE analog fan if I could buy the pedal over again I'd probably go with the MIDI-MuRF for many reasons, the main one being rate control
@DimebagsLeftToe yeah, i was reading an interview he was giving on recording stadium, saw that he had used these and other synth gear so i started looking into it and saw that it's still the last real frontier for guitar players. How many Keith Emersons of the guitar world are there? haha
@DimebagsLeftToe I think so yeah, but I got them at local pedal swaps and through estate sales and stuff. I think I got the MuRF from some poor guys ex-wife who was selling his studio eqpt to piss him off for about 150. I'm fixing to post a new video in a few days, since I filmed this I've picked up a ring mod, freq box and lpf and dotcom synth, if you keep an eye out and are patient you can probably find them pretty reasonably priced.
@novanine9 the sound is pretty much all the Line6, the "shape" of the sound and the order in which they are played is the Murf, if that makes sense. If I can find time I'll try and upload a murf only video, i've got three others that I'd like to get uploaded too at some point
@novanine9 I'll be uploading a murf only video pretty soon. I filmed it pretty late last night and cant remember if it's just the murf or the murf with a lpf and ringmod or what.
Cool. But is it more than just a toy? Don't get me wrong I like it but all videos I have seen are pretty experimental. I think for that much money I would get a synthesizer, wich can also produce many funny noises, but with way more control over the parameters I think.
@maobing23 true enough, when I actually filmed this I had the pedal for maybe a week, so at that point it was a toy, but now it's literally an instrument that I use in conjunction with many other moogs like the freqbox, lpf and ring modulator. I'll upload some stuff soon of what I've done. And I'm actually building a synth right now for my guitar, it's some tricky stuff; if you play guitar, what I'd suggest to avoid the steep synth learning curve is to get three moogs, and a cp-251.
@maobing23 also on all these pedals I got insane deals, I picked two up from a heroin junkie who was getting rid of his ring mod and bass murf for 150, I got the MuRF for 205, LPF for 100 and Freqbox for 175. But as far a toy goes, Hendrix would have loved this pedal, John Frusciante loves these pedals (he uses them all across Stadium and By the Way). At first they are toys, then once you learn how to use them, they become in instrument that you incorporate into your music.
Thanks, since this video I've bought the Bass MuRF, RingMod and Freqbox. The Freqbox is by far the coolest pedal, especially when used with the MuRF. Hows the midi MuRF? My only problem with the analog one is that if you're playing live you can't really sync it to the tempo, so rather than adapting to what everyone else is playing, they have to adapt to you
@SlunkLord57 The signal is being sent to a delay pedal which SAMPLES the signal. I don't see any tape reels so it looks like the signal is being converted into digital. So the signal going into the MF-105 is digital....not sure what your point is here.

Pardonner mon français, je dois l'usage un traducteur libre. C'est un Moog MF-105. C'est une pédale très variée, mais même plus si avec la pédale d'exppression.
haha, you and anyone within 50 yards of you. I've gotten the most insane sounds out of those two pedals combined. I've actually managed to get a setting that a human ear can't hear, but causes my neighbors dog to ballistic. I'd recommend the MuRF to anyone, and any sort of synth modeler to enhance the sound
If you want to take your synth antics to the next level, buy the Line 6 M13
You can layer multiple FM4 effects at once, for example Attack Synth-Octisynth-Seeker. You can also pair the FM4 effects with all of the other Line 6 distortions, modulations, delays, and reverbs! Sooner or later I'll get off my butt and make a few videos showing the wonderful things you can do.
For now though, if you PM me, I'll show you some sick ambient stuff I've made
that is hella cool

keep up the creativity...like it, lots

Well done. I just got the MuRF MIDI 105-MIDI and am very pleased.
Using such an organic source as simple e. guitar chord proves its versatility.

edpoulsen9191 2 years ago
Yes because that Line 6 pedal is pure analog. Not digital at all. Or the looper pedal either.

witty sarcasm, nice. it's taking the best of both worlds, and trust me, if I could afford an analog compressor I would buy one.
