how do u get the acedemy and does it cost money and after u pass do they give u a station to go to or do u find ur own

@JohnPinkney123 You have to take the exam. It was suppose to be given out right about now, but it has been put on hold. You have to pass that exam, pass a fitness test, then go on the list. You can wait anywhere from 2-4 years. Once called, you are checked out for employment, go to the academy. If you pass you get station assignments. If you are in the top of your class you can pick, everyone else goes wherever.

I really wished when I went through the academy they were like..I would love to go through city firefighting program..way teach u seems easier for it to be drilled in ur head..

17, I plan on joining FDNY EMS as an EMT first and then promote to FDNY Firefighter.

That's why I said I plan on joining FDNY in 2-3 years even though I'm only 17.

I'm not sure you can just join. There's a process.

Maybe you can apply in 2-3 years and maybe youll get on in 5-6...the process is very long

take the FDNY test in 2011 and if you dont pass for some reason or they dont accept your list its only 1 year later to become EMS

This documentary was done at the end of 02 and completed in early 03. The class they followed on this was

Class 1-03. As Capt, M. said at the beginning of this clip someone would not make 20 years. Unfortunately he was right. About a month after graduation Prob. FF Ryan Duryee was killed in an accident on his way into work for the night tour,  RIP bro.
