Haha, you just dont find many US born masters or phd engineers. If you peek your head into a mechanical engineering gradschool classroom its mostly foreign dudes.
Top marks for the ease of valve maintenance, Ducati and other manufacturers might like to take note. Does anyone know why very few bikes use hydraulic adjustment to make it a non issue ? Is the cost prohibitive or don't hydraulic valve adjusters like high revs ? They seem fine on cars, eg BMW's latest 3 litre straight 6.
At long last Buell have a decent engine, something they should have done a good few years ago. I can't wait to see all the knee down boys join UKBEG forum.....that should be fun for them. eze
For those that care, the engineer works for BRP Rotax- en austrian company that builds engines. The BMW F800 bikes have rotax motors as do several Can-Am ATV's. Rotax builds extremely high-quality motors. Buell probably couldn't build this good of an engine so they created a joint venture with Rotax to build this one.
First, he's an engineer, and he speaks at least two languages. He's not an idiot. His english is not just conversational, he has to know technical terms. You idiot...
buell motors is dead now they still have a racing team though

Does it have VTEC? No but really Rotax makes fantastic motors. Rotax is a very completive class in karting, I love there motors.
