  • thanx.....was looking for it :)

  • This is working for CTRL ALT DELETE ??? PLZ ANSWER

  • @JuiCaZZ i dont if this works or but if u get the 3rd party tool called "Logon Studio" from stardock u can just change it...and it works for logon, logoff, and Ctrl+Alt+Del

  • @JuiCaZZ yes

  • Easier way is to just download a 3rd party app so you don't have to change reg values. You will just have a bunch of noobs crying into their starbucks coffee when they fuck it up.

  • "ITS THE SECOND D" I did all steps with no luck so went over again and got it working u need to have the second D in backgroundDefult as a D not d

  • The video needs clarification cuz if you don't have a OEMBackground key, you need to create a new DWord, not a new KEY under ///LoginUI/Background and once created, right-click, choose MODIFY, then set value to 1 as mentioned in video.

  • Dumb Microsoft reset my value to 0 after the last update and made me see that stupid freakin' blue screen again!

  • @duckypwns *COUGH**COUGH bullshit.

  • Slash slash slash slash slash slash (It just cracked me up)

  • Make the subscribe button yellow again

  • hey i did as you told or said to do but finally the result was nil i dint get my background, it was the same, have any more ideas to do.

  • this is how i done it the first time and the way this man has done it really isnt fastest way go to tweakslogon it is way faster tweakslogon requires winrar but it is all faster that this

  • i have an easier solution just download tweakslogon and let it do the stuff for you. very simple

  • Im having a little trouble. i did everything correctly, yet my background is still not changing. the JPEG i picked was 201k, and no matter what i do, its not changing. i have windows 7 home premium.

  • @dapinoy671 It also has to be the right dimensions for the computer to use it, such as 1280x720, 800x600 etc. If it doesn't match on of the appropriate dimensions the computer won't use it.

  • i havnt got no registry

  • or download tuneup utilitis and instalet ther is a aplication thai canges evriting you want

  • it doesn't work :S

  • I set this guy up with a Windows rig... his BIOS was pretty screwed up and I had to do 4 hours work on the netbook total. Should I charge for OS installation? He had license key and all that other stuff... and he went through Windows' registration...I just installed the OS.

  • Hey does this tutorial work for Vista as well? Please reply soon (:

  • theres no OEMBACKGROUND..in my registry please help............!!!

  • @thomazianx create it!

  • @1Meandfriend i dont know how to create....!!!

  • @thomazianx right click -> new -> DWORD Value -> Call it OEMBackground and give it a value of 1

  • i dont even have a folder called authentication....

  • ya agree, if you take the other pic and move it t pics take that name copy it and name the other one that.

  • dont name the image "backgroundDefault.jpg" name it "backgroundDefault" and it should work then

  • Hm.. Ive done it all right. But, it still doesnt happen.. any ideas? My windows 7 is home premium...

  • @animatu93 same for me, it doesn't work...

  • @animatu93 it doesn't work in sp1

  • for some reason it doesn't let me do it what so ever? Ive tried many times already.

  • Is there a way to make it play a short video when the computer starts up?

  • it finally worked!! i mispelled backround, hahah human error,

  • it worked for me, but now im changing the background, now it wont work. :(

  • @YvesWonGhz17 just delete or replace the previous background. always use file name backgroundDefault from the info folder. < C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info

  • mine is Windows Vista...how?

  • damn, anything is possible. now i wanna change the bios start up :p

  • Comment removed

  • it works for me dude, i just got 1 question for you, how many backgrounds can i make? is it ok to make more than 1 or do i have to delete the previous to make a new 1?

  • good job

  • hey i have problem I already have file called info and if I make the background folder and I will put

the JPG picture into it is 159 KB it still wiews only the stupid windows background

  • @maxilios1

make it as the default as it says from the video.

  • it still doesnt work ¨

  • OH YES

i dident work for me because it wasnt JPEG

  • to prevent the image from stretching find the exact resolution of your monitor. i use 1366x768 and i got an exact fit!

  • OMG it worked thanx :)

  • Those are backslashes, not slashes. But thanks for the tip!

  • @853midnight I have 8GB Ram, It's when I alt-tab from BF3 it changes my theme to basic and sets default reg key to 0

  • @xShade98 that i cant anymore sorry. though im using game series laptop i dont play games on it.

  • @xShade98 SAME HERE IT PISSES ME OFF I HAVE A 2000$ COMPUTER AND IT WANTS ME TO CAHNGE MY THEME WHEN I PLAY BF3

  • @PCWizKid since doing this, registry control tool wont open now, it keeps closing when i try opening/ starting the program

  • is there any way you could make it so you have a bigger file then 256 kb??

  • okay well how do i get to that screen cuz it wont let me type anything at the bottom!

  • i already have a folder called info in there, should i delete it, then make the new one?

  • @JesusRodriguez8 NOOO!!! I already have it too, you just have to insert it into the background folder.

  • @vytlind001 i think i deleted it lol. what did i just do...

  • @JesusRodriguez8 Well it's not that big of a deal, all you have to do is create a folder.

  • hey bro i dont have any value in my background foldr????? instead of default one

  • Does this work for Vista?

  • how do i reboot??

  • @jamesblonde94 shutoff pc and start pc...

  • Comment removed

  • i need help ever now and then i restart my laptop and the background goes to the old one

  • @MiX3Gaming I Think Its Patched

  • i dont have any of that in my registy?

  • That was easy...folder was already there. I did need to change the hexi to 1 tho. Other than that the folder was already there with the default bg. I just renamed that with "backgroundDefault2" in case I wanted the original back. Worked great! Btw Photoshop is awesome, it tells you the file size when you save a picture "as". I found that extremely useful! But thanks for this vid!!

  • You're kidding, my file is 257kb...

  • im not sure what im doing wrong when i try to create the OEM background key it just makes a subfolder. not sure what version you are running in the video

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome. Your the man!

  • Lol how old this is "cough" MODERN WARFARE 2 -.-

  • Quick question. Could I use an animated GIF ? Would it work?

  • @EmptyMentality Nope.

  • @Gam1ngCZ Alright. Thanks.

  • Nice work

     Thanks

  • Check this video for easy download of tweaks logon

    /watch?v=gDmwvtaUPOc

  • It didn't work for me until i removed .jpg from backgroundDefault.jpg

    Awesome Tip. Thanks pcwizkid :D

  • @Darknesslc3 Me too..all the files are there. It's not working....

  • my laptop wont do that

  • Thanks for a great tip! This registry key was buried so deep I never would have found it on my own. I edited the value to "1" and it worked like a charm. So glad to be rid of that ridiculous background on the login screen! (You don't need to add the .jpg extension on the backgroundDefault file name.)

  • i am admin but cant get in to system32 xD what to do ???

  • @AssassinGhost1 if you can see the folders then call Microsoft, if you can't press "alt" then go to tools>Folder Options select "show hidden files, folders and drives"

  • Comment removed

  • no we dont like Modern Warfare 2, we love Modern Warfare 2 <3

  • In my Windows\system32\oobe\ folder i already have a folder called Info with a load of files all called oobe in it. Ive created the backgrounds\defaultBackground.jpg inside it and it hasn't worked. It still has the old one on.

Do i need to delete the current Info folder and make a new one? or have i missed something?

  • @qicho81 Yeah i had the same problem but i just deleted the info folder and and made a new one and followed the instructions as usual and it worked.

  • hey this works great! there is one thing that caught me though.....i forgot i was on a fresh install of windows 7 and it wasn't displaying file extensions so when i renamed my image i actually renamed it defaultBackground.jpg.jpg and it didn't work so just remember that it might be hiding extensions

  • Thanks dude!

  • you good boy thx so much i love you i put that background in the welcome screen and it work.

  • cool

  • Hey i don't get the OEMbackground

  • @truckingish Shit sorry didint see the destripcion

  • Great vid man

  • I don't see "HKLM" I only see "HKEY" and lots of them =\

  • YES!!! THANK YOU

  • Doesn't work on 64 bit.

  • @Apacolypse241 I'm fairly certain PCWizKid does not use a 32-bit OS... think about it, bro

  • @jamiestoehr And I'm fairly certain that I do use 64x bit OS, plus his registry is obviously 32x bit, GG gtfo.

  • @Apacolypse241 It works on my 64X machine

  • @Apacolypse241

It does work on x64, as I did it on my own computer at home. However, the problem that I initially ran into is that the maximum file size reported here is incorrect.. The jpg must be less than 245 kB, not 256 kB.

  • @Apacolypse241 yeah see... you're dumb

  • Comment removed

  • i did what you did and it didnt work all it did is change it to the arrows. i changed it to a 19kg or kb whatever it was and it didnt work i tryed it a few times can you please tell me what im doing wrong

  • this is great! thank you so much!

  • this is hard to follow

  • This is awsome thank you.

  • alot of guides said that i have to change the picture name into "backgroundDefault.jpg" that did not work for me, but as soon as i called it just "backgroundDefault" it worked.

  • @TheAaddis That because the image was already a jpg. Basically, when you named it "backgroundDefault.jpg", it already had a hidden jpg extension, so you named it "backgroundDefault.jpg.jpg", which is incorrect.

  • I changed mine, it worked out great. I log in today and it's gone. The main screen is still there and the pic is still in backgrounds, my value is still set to 1, help?

  • just download windows background changer

  • Never mind... i made a typo -.-

  • @king0puggy how did u fix itt? pls reply

P.S. yes the OEMbackground value is set to 1

    thanks for any help

  • Hey does this also work for windows Vista?

  • @justeffingworkplz Sorry it doesnt need to use Tune in something.. Sorry man you cant change it unless you use 3rd party or hacking programs only works for Windows Seven sorry man.

  • Wow.. its work.. Thanks dude..

Now i enjoy with my new logon background..!

    Appreciate it...!

and change the settings shown in the vid

  • had my login background changed for a month now & it all of a sudden, last night changed back to the default! i redid this & still nothing! what could be wrong?

  • @aprfrsh Um, Microsoft is stupid? Try another tutorial.

  • The value keeps changing to 0. I don't know why. :(

  • you got some major typos going on......

  • an important step that was missed and I found out by playing around is that the background folders have to be empty of any other pictures that the maufacturer put in them!

  • patched????

  • hey ma windows 7 doesnt show d path shown above...somebdy plz help me out

  • 256 kilobytes is terribly small

  • does every get the same picture of does just one account get it

  • help, does this slow ur boot time down in anyway?

  • @EliteXGaming2011 it shouldnt because in my windows 7 these files were already made i just took the origional jpeg out and replaced it

  • I don't know if this happened because of this, but I did everything step-by-step and restarted my computer. for 1 it didn't work and for 2 my desktop background was blank when it wasn't before.

  • @RiverRockFilms one important step was "go to Authentication then Background" dont just put it in Windows like I did xD

  • Did you just say "many of you like MW2" i hope your being sarcastic

  • @RiverRockFilms

Jesus Christ, some people like something else than others. Just live with it. Haters do hate, I know - but what can we do about it? xD Peace.

  • did you mean create a folder called Info or click on the folder Info?

because i clicked on it and there are a few back ground pictures all the same pic but different sizes.

  • It wont work for me i followed step by step ?

  • one like and i will give you windows ultimate key

  • allright i did almost everything that the video here said to do. however i am having a problem on both of my computers i have a compaq and a Toshiba. both give me the same problem. I get an error message even in safemode that i need permission to perfom the action from TrustedInstaller how do i get around this or where do i get permission? and i am administratior on both computers.

  • my laptop doesn't have the OEM File, Only the one that says (Default Reg Value)

  • uhm, pcwizkid. how do you change the login background for the windows 7 64bit. i tried this method i just cant change it. and btw, the current default image that is in the oobe file, how do you delete it or move it from the folder itself. help me out. thanks =)

  • subscribed! man you are awesome

  • my laptop doesent have that?

  • You said to keep it under 256Kb but I think you mean 256KB?

  • @twomod77 duh, same thing.

  • @twomod77 Stop trying to be cool dumbass just because he didnt put it in caps doesnt meen it changes everything

  • @mrkev0188 You don't know what you talking about because there is a big difference between Kb & KB. I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

  • Comment removed

  • @twomod77 dude dont be such a dumbass, yess KB is kilobytes and kb is kilobits but think for once, everybody just says kb to reffer to kilobytes, so just stop whining

  • @twomod77 dude dont be such a dumbass trying to play smart, yes KB is kilobyte and kb is kilobit, but lets be honest everyone uses kb to reffer to KB so stop being such a baby talking smack about 1 little thing

  • @twomod77 We're all refreshed and challenged by your unique point of view. All I want from a troll like you, is to stop breathing my air!! Is that too much to ask for? I don't think so.
