so you can use this technique to color the whole body as in skin color and tones like shadows? by the way ur tutorials are very helpful i recently got gimp and its somewhat a maze for me

@ericluc13 Well, for the most part. I've recently came up with some new ways to tones, and color, but this should give a good understanding of the basics on where colors go in the layering.

@Slipy61 it should automatically unselect when your selecting another area. but if you wanna unselect what you just selected click the undo button.

that'd take a while to explain as well as the fact that it would come from an addition of various tutorials. though to alter between layers just double click the one you wish to go to.

This is a silly question, but how do i cancel the lasso tool, like when i'm done using it. How do i make it go away?

like switch tools? or make the selected area go away? cause to switch tools just click on the toool you want and to get a new lassoed area lasso another, and if you wanna go back to having the whole area selected just take the square area select and go from corner to oppostie corner that should put it back to where the entire area is selected.
