  • This song is about the Viet Nam war not The current conflicts, though coud be applied.

  • Best live guitar solo ever!!!!!

  • Check out the full video footage in my videos.

  • Fuck the US government and their interventions. World peace forever.

  • Un REAL !!!! Cool Friggin Video Man !

  • one thing about being light infantry is you really live your life everything feels feels like a second whos momma gonna cry yours or theirs whats the spirit of the bayonet fighter the quick and the dead huahhhh!!

  • @IntuitiveMediums Brilliant! One of my favourite Jimi tunes, the Video is outstanding! Would have preferred the whole song with Vocals, though? ...Consider yourself Subscribed to!

  • This could be one of the most awesome videos I've ever seen on YouTube. Thanks.

  • @AMGallegos thanks man I'm glad you enjoyed it. Happy New Year!

  • Where is the original Please upload it thx

  • Great editing!!! Great visual!! Great video!!!

  • God Helps us!!!

  • Maybe if I knew the editors intent. I can guess, but do not know. It does not bother me too much. Sometimes I just want to hear that solo. The baddest solo in a song ever, If not for the Star Spangled Banner, it would be the baddest of all guitar in history.

  • this is the essence of hendrix & why he is still the most provocative guitarist of the last century.........

  • The truth is... This performance is so powerful, it doesn't need a video.

btw- Yeah that edit was no good

  • sorry to interrupt this vid but the edit fail is too epic to let go unnoticed

this version (fillmore show) needs to have ZERO interruptions as it may be the greatest electric guitar solo in history-- this version made miles davis want to jam with him and got him moving into the bitches brew area

must add a dislike to this

  • @2dum2getsocialism First off. dislike fair. but your skewed ego is a little out of line and just to clarify the original video still exists. go watch that. second, bitches brew Recording sessions took place at Columbia's 30th Street Studio over the course of three days in August 1969. This concert happened in December of 1969 and wasn't released until march of 1970. so get your order of operations correct before you spread your know-it-all purist opinion. Hendrix's spirit disapproves.

  • @IntuitiveMediums you approve of the edit at 1:24/:1:25?--- this was the first vid that came under my cursory search for machine gun and the 6 1/2 length should have clued me in so point taken; as far as the jimi/miles thing i said bitches brew "area" but meant "era" to fit the framework of the limited space of a youtube thingamabob; nevertheless, does jimi's spirit approve a cut in order to fit a video on one of his greatest recordings?-- dont answer; it's a good vid and is appropriate in 2011

  • @2dum2getsocialism thanks man. i appreciate the response. no harm no foul just freedom of speech. Your cool in my book and you obviously have good taste in music. as for the editing: This video was for an art school project and I wanted to see if people could feel the anti war song through the emotion of the guitar and not by the obviousness of the lyrics. the video editing is not so hot. It was my first run with final cut. Yet I like this version and i think the audio edits are in time Paz

  • @IntuitiveMediums also Agharta and Pangaea are the Miles Davisalbums with huge hendrix influence. Pete Cosey on Wah Guitar. Beautiful insanity.

  • THIS HERE tells it all my love go to all the brothers and sisters that are fighting in lraq WE LOVE YOU;]

  • war us scrumptious.

  • iam a classic music player but i admire this virtuose on the guitar his is de Pagannini from the 60 tis thanks for cheering this with us

  • ... never understood why the camera goes to Buddy Miles when Hendrix is in the middle of playing one the GREATEST guitar solos of all time... hmmm

  • this was nice man smoked a nice joint jamming to some jimmy,, getting ready to battle on black ops baby lol..I know is a virtual war but is bad ass game !!uhhrahh!!! yeah feeling smooth catch you all in xboxlive biatches!! id= ShOcKeR072

  • Hendrix was awesome. I'm sure if he lived longer we'd have seen more incredible guitar stuff. I met his manager and knew his manager's wife pretty well; got some great stories.

  • @ecuachet

    his manager killed him

  • 1:30 - 2:50 is absolutely filthy... you can't touch it. Especially when he comes off the that long SCREAMING note... amazing. So mean...

  • you know, it doesn't matter what color you are or what band your in or what band you are. Arent we all just a band of gypsys?

  • Ever notice how the nine stroke roll drum beat in this sounds like a machine gun? Very creative on the part of buddy miles

  • psychedelic without being outdated or annoying 4:40 masterful

  • psychedelic without being outdated or annoying

  • very creative....

  • Man, that guitar did exactly what Hendrix wanted it to. What a great performance!

  • Who gives a shit about if Jimi was or wasn't against war. We need to be worried about the people now and how they should all be against it, regardless of it's purpose or what it's "saving".

  • I like turtles. They're so chill. They don't hurt anyone. They're just like, "Hey man, I want to swim, and maybe eat some lettuce. But I'm gonna take my time getting there, I'm not in a rush. Because I'm a turtle."

  • Pulled into a gas station once with this song blaring from my car.. Hahahahaa.. Everybody turned my way and said WTF?.. Hahahahaa..

  • best guitar solo on the planet

  • @nonukia3000 thats not what happened. he wanted out so he told his officer he was haveing sexual fantasies about the other mates. really clever to. so he was kicked out. that actually happened. ive read biographies

  • why the hell is everybody argueing whether or not he is antiwar?? this song is obviously against war but hell, war is stupid. for all you know it could be over a gum ball and still be a war. so this song could be against wars that are not necessary... although none seem to be if u ask me

  • My dad's freinds son was back from Iraq a year and shot himself in the head. God Bless All OUR TROOPS. May you find PEACE. This country probably isn't the easiest place to come back to after being at war. This song is for you. PEACE Hang in there. GOD BLESS.

  • desgarrador, impresionante, sencillamente increible.

  • you support the troops but you dont have support the war

  • @leafninj69

Yet, for some, to "support the troops" and what they're doing, IS, in a sense, to support the war. Can't always separate the 2.

  • @leafninj69 the best ways to support the troops are: don't put them in harms way in fradulent wars of agression, don't expose them to depleted uranium, and take care of them when they get sick and injured. The crappy dollar store reject toys at the register which well meaning but ignorant people send them when they check out are an insult. In short, the best way to support the troops is to wake up and end the insanity.

  • why would anyone be pro war? some of you guys are fucking stupid.

  • You believe whatever you want to truth is you don't know and for that matter who gives a shit Jimmy would not have met Billy Cox were it not for his stint in the army .The army was good for Hendrix like it or not he died at 27 and to this day there is not a guitar player in any genre that has had more impact..hell some of them don't even know it just like you don't know what your talking about and I don't think it matters if he was pro war or not but wanna be peace loving hippies suck..done

  • He stole the thunder and took it with him. There will never be another Hendrix.

  • Jimi was not anti war untill close till the end .sorry but he said what will we do when ten thousand chi-coms come screaming down on the people of Veit Nam.

Don't forget Jimi was an Army airborne screaming eagle paratrooper Bad ass.

And if not for an injury sustained during a jump he more than likely would have fought in that war.you nut's and berry's hippies wanna be's need to know the sixties weren't so great

  • @nonukia3000 When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

    Jimi Hendrix

  • @IntuitiveMediums i googled that quote and someone said that it was not said by him...is this true? i think its a fantastic quote and im very curious as to who said it...someone said it was Sri Chinmoy Ghose

  • @blownspeakersss Im not sure this could be true. I have seen this quote on bumper stickers posters and internet citations numerous times. They were all attributed to Hendrix. However Ive never heard him say it in an interview or in any lyrics to any song. Its such a cool statement you think he would have put it in somewhere on an album. But this is all speculation, Thanks for sharing....Strobe Lights and

  • @nonukia3000 He only enlisted because it was either the army or prison and he tried loads of things to get out of the army.

  • @nonukia3000

how. the. FUCK. do YOU know what "Jimi" was???? fuck you for projecting your view of this shitty world onto the beauty this man created.

  • @nonukia3000 Actually Jimi pretended to be gay to get out of the 101st. Before he was ever openly deployed.

  • @nonukia3000 What a load of shit!...No one loves Jimi more than me, but he was far from being a badass Paratrooper!!..He lasted a year, in the service!..his commanding officers regarded him as a subpar soldier, slept on duty, and needed constant supervision!..He was a peaceful man..He only joined the army because he was arrested twice for riding in stolen cars..It was either 2 years in prison, or the army...Guess what he chose.

  • @nonukia3000 Jimi had lied about braking his ankle; 'his commanding officers and fellow soldiers considered him to be a subpar soldier: he slept while on duty, had little regard for regulations, required constant supervision, and showed no skill as a marksman'.

  • fyi....he was a supply clerk for the Repair Parts section 801st Maintenance Bn, Spt GP, 101st Abn Div

  • @nonukia3000 actually none of that is true.

hendrix never actually fought in vietnam. he was in the army and pretended to be gay so he would be discharged and he could play music, then he became the star we know today.

that stuff about being injured from a jump is just rock n' roll folklore.

  • @nonukia3000 Respectfully, I have him on DIsc in an interview saying that he would "rather see people marching down the streets with guitars than machineguns" -1967 Let's not revise history here by saying Hendrix was pro war lol. That's like trying to Make Thomas Jefferson into a conservative republican in favor of big banks and corporations lol.

  • @nonukia3000 I think the lyrics to THIS VERY SONG speak for themselves that he was not in favor of killing or violence, and the accounts that I have read indicated that he may have very well wanted out of the Army altogether.

  • Jimi would LOVE this

  • this is hands down the greatest guitar performance ever done by anyome. thats a fact. (closley followd by texas flood at the el mocambo

  • Surealist, yeah I'll buy that. Maybe in the same vein as Hunter S. Thompson. They may have had some anti-war sentiments yet they wore their country's uniform.

  • @clyde481 Nice Truth.

  • @IntuitiveMediums I admire how you calmly and clearly reply to someone probably filled to the brim with ignorant one-liners. By the way: powerful video!

  • @clyde481 Now the only ones putting on the uniform are volunteers. Even the most ardent war hawks avoid combat in most cases.

  • Jimi was a great American. He was not anti-war, he was a realist. This video in my mind could be construed as a tribute to our boys in uniform. God bless them and God bless liberty.

Only the dead have seen the end of war.

  • @clyde481 i like your comment. Hendrix DID say that this is for the soldiers fighting in milwaukee detroit and Oh yeah Vietnam. So yes it was a tribute to them. But at the end he also says. "that whats we dont want anymore; no bullets no gun (no bombs). So i still think it is anti-war but still very supportive of the individuals who are in the middle of the mess. I consider him an artist trying to counteract negativity. And a realist? how about a surrealist

  • @clyde481 I think Jimi was anti-war. "Star spangled banner" played on Woodstock was a protest song against the Vietnam war.

  • nice vid man.. I did mine on the same principal and this is the perfect song for it...

  • lo mejor de jimi. lo esencial. lo mas talentoso.lo maduro de su musica.

  • No Singing?

  • @MrKeyboardDK it was for a video art class. I wanted to make see if people could feel that it was anti war without the obviousness of the lyrics.

  • No bombs.. no bullets..no war..

  • this shit toked from atv show !!! ....luv iraq

  • OK...connecting the dots. If you love Jimi you will love Live at the Isle of Wight. He does this. "Freedom" is out of this world.

  • jimi was the god of guitar. too bad he died

  • Fucking sick, one of my favorite songs. Great video!
