  • TX stadium is all gone now. The cowboys are gone too.

Great days of NFL are all over.

  • Amazing game.

  • Back in the days the Cowboys had guys step up and make big plays. Larry Cole? They don't have those players anymore. Sorry but even Ware doesn't do much in a big spot. How many sacks does he have on 4th quarter big spots? Not many at all.

  • i wish you would have shown the redskins full set of downs at the end. i can't imagine how the boys got the ball back with 1:36 left? not eating more of the clock with 4 downs is incredible.

  • can't tackle roger the dodger!!!

  • If only the cowboys of today played like the cowboys of yesterday give the whole coaching staff an enema and start drafting for the future

  • Rafeal Septien missed 5 PATs during the regular season??? How the hell do you miss that many extra point attempts in one season?? What a loser! Of course, the fact that he was a pedo ALONE makes him a loser! I hope he's still in prison.

  • I remember this game! I was 8 yrs old, Dallas was losing 34-21 with only 2 1/2 minutes left and my dad was getting annoyed because I kept telling him, "They can do it, Dad! They can do it!!" And sure enough....they did! Final score: Dallas 35 Washington 34. AWESOME!!

  • I remember watching this game, wow....that was something to see!

  • The Cowboys defense of today would of allowed 2 more TDs because they are FAT, SLOW, dumb and they QUIT!

  • @xxchinookxx Except for Ware and Lee

  • The Skins blew this lead, but the refs should have given them a timeout at the end. There was 2 seconds on the clock when they asked for timeout.

  • Cool stuff seeing the Cowboys in their glory -too bad now they have so much mediocrity on their roster. Bet if Landry was coaching half of the guys would have been gone long ago (like the secondary!)

  • I swear I was watching this game on my little Magnavox color TV I had gotton as a graduation gift. I remember that sick feeling when Riggins scored on that 66 yard run to make it 34-21 but I also knew it was never over with Staubach. You just never felt like you could lose as long as he was leading the team. He was the reason I became a Cowboy fan back in the early 70's. I was devastated when he retired after that season.

  • I think Mike Shanahan may be looking for work at the end of year, the redskins have had a pitiful year! The cowboys beat down the skins twice! It's not our fault their kicker can't see the goal posts!

  • How would the NFC playoff picture have changed had Washington held on?

  • The cowboys just flat out own the redskins! I remember watching this game as a little kid. Anything could happen when staubach had the ball!

  • This guy Staubach wrote the book of 4th qtr comebacks. He did not do it in college 4 times like Montana did at Notre Dame but you check up on the games with the Naval Acadamy and find out.

  • 7:10 -- "Inside the 5 to the 7." You go, 3-Martini Pat.

  • @toplonghorn The other guy claims Mark Mosely made a FG from the 53 yard line, LMAO!

  • What a PERFECT last regular season game for Staubach to have for his storied career.

  • Redskins needed to win this game because under NFL tiebreakers they were behind the Bears. The tiebreaker used was best net points all games and going into the day the redskins had a 33 point lead but because the Bears blew out the Cardinals 42-6 that eliminated the Redskins point differential lead. So needless to say there was intense pressure.IIRC the Cowboys needed to win to clinch the NFC East title.

  • Roger Staubach. Man.

  • holy crap..even just the basic hits would be penalized in the nfl today! this is how the nfl should have stayed

  • i remember reading about this game in Sports Illustrated

  • I remember I was 11 when I saw this game and I really did not think the Cowboys could come back yet it was my brother-in-law who said they could and they did so I guess he was right

  • I remember watching this game as a kid being fired up over the refs letting the game go out like that. There was 1 to 2 seconds left when they signaled for time out. Looking at the video 32 years later confirms my memory isn't as bad as I thought. I would imagine this game and the Bills coming back on the Oilers haunted Jack Pardee.

  • I was at this game. About ten rows back in the end-zone seats. Up-close and personal view of the winning touchdown. Thanks to my sweet Jane Ann for dragging me to this game. Rest in peace, Jane Ann. And thanks.

  • Tony Hill was a very good Cowboy WR. He may not be right up there with the likes of Irvin or Pearson, but he was good.

  • i ve got this game on tape what a classic

  • I was 12 yrs old when this aired. My dad was working in the garage and came in to check the score when it was 34-14. He said, 'Ah, not even Staubach can come back from that score...'. 20 minutes later it was 34-28... Dad came back in and didn't leave til the end... What a game! Greatest of all Staubach's games. Thank you for the post.
