Well, 8,000 B.C. was when Cro-Magnons, the modern human began. Before that, (which is what this is talking about, I think) there were Neanderthals which were more primitive. But you are right, actual drawings and written history began with the Cro-Magnons.

Believe it or not Human History actually began back as early as 200,000 years. Neanderthals started like in the 400,000 years. Thats what my Anthropology professor said.

I just realized that Australian Aboriginals look kind of like Neanderthals.
