See man...ever since this came out it has been E-Revo or Summit....not sure what one i should get at the end of the month. I have always wanted a Revo, but the summit is looking sweet!
I've watched a few Summit vids on here now and I can't wait to get mine,it'll be my first proper leccy model since I had Tamiyas back in the 80's,uptil now its been all nitro and petrol but this truck looks the dogs and for me is the best looking and most innovative leccy truck to come out so far,who gives a fuck if it aint the best crawler or the fastest,as long as its enjoyed by the owner, thats all that matters....
yeah there's a million thing's you can do with the summit there's not any other rc's out there that can crawl and get a reasonable top speed and be waterproof and as powerful and durable as the traxxas Summit
no. ax10 are rock crawlers. way more articulation. the summits not the fastest racer, and not the best crawler. but nothing comes this close to being both
No. The Summit is far too heavy, it weighs 11 pounds, about 3 times as much as an AX10. It's motor and ESC aren't as well suited for rock crawling as a Novak rooster crawler combo, which a lot of people use on their AX-10s.
The Summit Too Heavy? I had an AX10 that weighed More than a Summit. When an AX10 is set up the right way which includes wheel weights it ends up being about the same as a Summit.
According to axial's website the AX-10 weighs approx. 4 pounds, the Summit weighs 11. I highly doubt people are putting 7 lbs worth of wheel weights on their AX-10s.
There is a Local Rock Crawling track near me and Most people have over half a pound of weight in each wheel. Most have 1 pound in each Front wheel to keep the front down when climbing
I'd get summit over e-revo because, for an all-terain and all-around truck nothing else can beat the value of this package, besides i already have a rustler VXL for speed, and a slash VXL for off-road bashing and its bulletproof! nice vid!
In your opinion. I think it's a little better than the E-Revo. The Summit is just as capable as the E-Revo for racing, it's just a slightly a heavier truck and is slightly slower, as it has a few more parts and stuff, but it also can crawl much better. The 775 size motor puts out a LOT more torque.
I almost bought a Summit but I didn't like the soft tires. I also didn't like the extra servos and locking diffs. Just More stuff to break in time. I am running Venom 7-cell 5000's in my Revo. I changed the Spur gear from a 68 tooth to a 65 tooth and am rolling at 40MPH. I have measured a wheelie at 72 feet. A Summit will Never do that. I have No complaints with my Revo at all. I had an E-Maxx that I just recently sold and the Revo is Much better
With the proper equipment it will, but not stock. The soft tires are because it was built to be run on rocks and other low traction terrain, not on pavement. By the way, have you seen one run in high gear? I have.
Oh yeah I seen a Summit run in high gear and that is a big reason why I didn't buy it. Too Slow for me. I guess if rock climbing is what you want to do then a Summit is the way to go. My Revo goes over stuff with no problem and goes fast. I wasn't gonna waste my money on a truck that is pretty much only made for off road mainly due to the tires. I bought my Revo off Ebay Brand New Never used with an extra set of New Road Rage tires/wheels, Traxxas 7-Cell's all for $400
The Traxxas Summit is a BEAST!!!! thats why people like it, not for speed. its high tech too! revo doesnt have any waterproof gear either and the summit can swim.
The E-Revo is just as Waterproof as the Summit. The E-Revo and Summit actually are the Same truck but they have different tires and body. The chassis is the Same along with the suspension,
It has high and low gear (shift on the remote) and in high gear with fresh batteries it will do 25mph. So for a truck that can crawl i'd say it's fast
Not sure what you are saying but it is much better video (clearer) than ANY of the other vids I have watched. Maybe your computer isn't displaying the high quality. I used a Cannon HD camera shot in 24p/1080i
He is referring to the new "Watch in HD" option from YouTube. It's even better than "Watch in High Quality", but you need to upload it in a specific way to get the option to show up. I have a Summit vid in HD. Check it out and you'll see what I'm talking about.
its the best monster crawler of the world!!!!!!!!!!

isnt the axial scorpion a better crawler?
most rock crawlers dont need/want speed anyways???????????
rockondon 2 years ago
The idea is that this truck can do a little of everything. No other truck that crawls as well as this truck can also bash and jump etc.
Now this is my opinion so for those of you that disagree that's fine.

The Summit is Over Rated. The E-Revo is a Much better Truck for the Money
