This gave me a great start on fixing a 1520, the only difference is that there are 3 plastic clips that need to be released through the battery compartment and one is hidden under the dell sticker.

hi HELP PLEASE HELP ME !!!:( I HAVE VOSTRO 1400 RIGHT AFTER IT'S WARRANTY FINISHED my LCD the monitor of it has a red line which was at first blue it's tiny and it's not becoming more but i hate it !( at first sometimes it was fixed by it's self and again with the problem now it has the problem and it has never fix it's self please WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO ?????:(:(:(:(

first of all, thanks for the video, really helped and saved me lots of time going to the mall and paying some guy to do that easy very doable job

2ndly, after replacing the keyboard, i figured out i had the uk model and now i got the us keyboard, which made some trouble typing the keys zxcvbnm due to the shifting of the backslash original spot .. how can i solve that?! is it solvable?!

@kalashnikova06 This video was uploaded about 6 months before HD was rolled out on YouTube. But yes, you'll see more video from Dell that will be uploaded in HD, especially in cases like this when details are important.

Dell, thank you for providing this video. It worked fine (with some adjustments) on a Vostro 1400. Not many manufacturers would provideo this info in this helpful of a form, and my opinion of Dell has just gone up.

Very useful. I succesfully replaced my keyboard using this video. Only the two screws which hold it are not neccessarily above the Escape and Delete keys. On my Vostro 1000, they were above the F4 key and above the Pause key.

Hugely helpful. The instructions for my Inspiron did not mention the cam button at all. While I was able to disconnect the cable I could not reconnect until I saw this video. This saved me a lot of frustration. Thanks very much.
