You could use the same excerpts to claim the earth is a flat disc shape (circle) and space (the heavens) is a ceiling ('tent' or 'canopy'), stretching over the top, which, although may well have been believed in those cultures, we now know is wrong. I think I'd be more convinced if bible scholars made occasional discoveries in nature; rather than pointing to dubious bible excerpts in the wake of scientific discovery.

It DID decompose, and was almost completely mineralized to boot. What was left after 65 million years of degradation and mineralization had to be extracted from the fossil chemically before it could be analyzed.

Size has nothing to do with it. We know from fossil and archaeological evidence that men hunted mastodonts - and may in fact have contributed to its extinction. However, there's no such evidence for man hunting dinosaurs. Which makes sense, as there's no evidence for large dinosaurs existing after the KT-boundary was formed 65 million years ago.

Christians who interpret genesis non-literaly seem to be comfortable in believing what the Bible says that they don't perceive to have been sufficiently demonstrated to be false. If part of the bible such as genesis can be taken figuratively or metaphorically than so can everything else in the Bible. God could just be figurative or metaphorical. Heaven, hell, sin, miracles, Satan the whole lot of it. The only credibility it could have on it's own is if it were inerrant, which it ain't.

If a person believes in G-d, and believes that G-d gave man the bible, then he/she must conclude that either G-d is a liar, or that it is metaphor. What this documentary got wrong is that it overlooks the very first verse of the genesis chapter 1. Like the THEORY of evolution it can't explain the very beginning but than it builds a huge theory on something that can't explain, so it starts with an assumption. Likewise this documentary assumes that there was no oxygen and hydrogen to generate the water in verse 2. The oxygen and the hydrogen that bring about the water in verse 2 could be the result of what took place in the very first verse

HI there, I Believe the Bible from cover to cover. What you need to understand is the Bible is NOT a literal book, They is far more information in it than the natural eye could ever read. You could use the same excerpts to claim the earth is a flat disc shape (circle) and space (the heavens) is a ceiling ('tent' or 'canopy'), stretching over the top, which, although may well have been believed in those cultures, we now know is wrong. I think I'd be more convinced if bible scholars made occasional discoveries in nature; rather than pointing to dubious bible excerpts in the wake of scientific discovery.

Size has nothing to do with it. We know from fossil and archaeological evidence that men hunted mastodonts - and may in fact have contributed to its extinction. However, there's no such evidence for man hunting dinosaurs. Which makes sense, as there's no evidence for large dinosaurs existing after the KT-boundary was formed 65 million years ago.

Christians who interpret genesis non-literaly seem to be comfortable in believing what the Bible says that they don't perceive to have been sufficiently demonstrated to be false. If part of the bible such as genesis can be taken figuratively or metaphorically than so can everything else in the Bible. God could just be figurative or metaphorical. Heaven, hell, sin, miracles, Satan the whole lot of it. The only credibility it could have on it's own is if it were inerrant, which it ain't.

the most ridiculous part from both sides of this argument, is that it is all metaphorical. If a person believes in G-d, and believes that G-d gave man the bible, then he/she must conclude that either G-d is a liar, or that it is metaphor. If one doesn't believe in G-d, then it is either a primitive explanation on the beginning of time based upon popular belief and then current understanding of the world, or a metaphor to explain why things were/are the way they were/are.

What this documentary got wrong is that it overlooks the very first verse of the genesis chapter 1. Like the THEORY of evolution it can't explain the very beginning but than it builds a huge theory on something that can't explain, so it starts with an assumption. Likewise this documentary assumes that there was no oxygen and hydrogen to generate the water in verse 2. The oxygen and the hydrogen that bring about the water in verse 2 could be the result of what took place in the very first verse

Genesis is a wonderful book and refutes atheists. I believe in God's creation. Evolution is false and there is no scientific evidence for macro-evolution.
