@theoriginalafroninja it's not really limewire that may make music not sound so good. it's the bitrate. you'll most likely encounter lots of mp3 files with a bitrate of 192kbps on limewire. files with a higher bitrate should sound a bit better, not sure by how much exactly. but if you're really worried about sound quality, you could try a lossless format instead, such as flac.
I want to get a pair of these for portable use, and a pair of Grado SR60's for use on my computer... I wish I could find a version of the SR60 that fit around the ear instead of on top. I might buy the SR60 and modify them with some enclosure pads from my old Sony MDR-XD200, because I sure as hell am not shelling out another 20 just for enclosement.
Yes Koss are great. Also, Sennheiser PX100 in the same price range offer great value. These two are my favourites under 50$. As far as earbuds go, Ultimate Ears triple-Fi are th best one I've heard and use them almost every day. They are however 10 times more expensive. But consider the Koss or the Sennheiser - there are no better headphones on the market and haven't been for a long time. You portable player will sound great with those - way better than any included headphones that came with it.
This is the best headphone I've ever had with a small amount of money, of course. Now I am thinking of new portable media player, which could be Iriver 50.
By the way, do u know how to recognize the fake Koss? Is it made in Germany or China, nowadays?
koss sucks, if you are going for headphones on a budget, get the creative fatal1ty mk11 pro series, 69.99 and they are on par with my 400 dollar pair of senns (much more comfortable too)
i dont mind the 80's look of the headphones, but i just dont like how it's sort of open back. i dont want the music leaking out and disturbing other ppl.
oh and when you're mentioning good companies, you forgot to mention grado labs.
'Sonys' is pretty general - I guess you must mean comparably priced Sonys because my mdr-7506 cans are fantastic. In any case you're right regarding reviews, the more the better - single most important source of info short of testing something yourself. Based on reviews (this one included) I'm getting a set of Portapros - seem to be among the best $30 - $40 phones around.
No offence mate, but try rehearsing what you're going to say first. All you really did was tell us how much you like your Koss headphones. Not a lot of techie knowledge there. You did not compare them with say the Sennheiser PX100 for example.
I had a senhhesier earbuds before, they broke, and they were horrible at sound quality, my old altec lansing were better, hurd the bose headphones, those are horrendous.
I cant wait to test drive these KOSS's I have seen that brand for ages, they are as old school as it gets.
guys ! i really need help !!! i bought gi desert cammo headphones and on the internet, they have 3 metal bullets in them but mine dont :( . but they have the 3 elastric straps for them. how can i get them ?
I'll probably end up getting PX100s anyway (apparently both sets are essentially the same), but just one question: do the headband sliders ever get caught in your hair, like several people have noted?
I've put a pair of "Red Hot" limited edition PortaPros on my wishlist. I hope the "Red Hots" do not run out before Christmas... Because they look so cool! XD
im listening to this vid using them and they are amazing headphones better than my bose in ear headphones and my skullcandy headphones. they are the best headphones u can buy for the price better than the px100.
I've got Sennheiser PX 100 and I love them, awesome sound quality, deep bass, comfortable... but I belive that PortaPros are also amazing, I always recommend buying The PX 100:s but I say that check out the PortaPros also before making the decision. Nice video btw!
Would the music leak a lot if i put it on halfway cos I heard these leak a lot.
