  • "Scratch heads with stray cat" lol

  • You know what makes UDS better than RATM? THE FUNK.

  • @Benny2ILL And Tres Manos... everybody's hyping about Tom Morello... he could have been no one without UDS !

  • Didn´t know this band, but this song is so cool!

  • Wie zijn dat ?

ZZ & the Maskers met Dracula ?

Of Rein de Vries net Patsy ?

  • Pioneers

  • Beste band van Nederland ooit. Punt.

  • 14 people got hit so hard by the lyrics they got injuires.

  • this is simply awesome !

  • fuck, always thought RATM was original until i heard THIS. UDS rules!!!

  • @Edmee69 UDS is the band that started all of that in the 90s. Damn I miss them.

  • Has anyone see "ReversalCrew"? Search for them on YouTube, they're awesome!

  • a truly GREAT band, BEST riffs and PUNCH.

I'm not crazy about the voice, mainly coz I'm no big fan of rap... but HEY!, that's the recipe!

    And always good lyrics.

  • What I can say to those who like RATM is that they should try listening to bands like Urban Dance Squad, Dog Eat Dog, Cake, Shootyz Groove, H-Blockx, The Beastie Boys' ill communication, Machine Head, Infectious Grooves, Asian Dub Foundation, Sublime, and couple songs on Limp Bizkit's first album. No one is to judge who influenced who coz the bottom line is: we don't know and we don't give the damn.

  • @LegacyKillah As well as 24-7 Spyz, Kush, Body Count and Cypress Hill's Skull & Bones.

  • @LegacyKillah You forgot Downset!!!!!!

  • @LegacyKillah there must be a reason why you left out rhcp

  • RATM & UDS best crossover bands ever

  • i dont have money, but what i do have is a very special set of skills, that make me a nightmare for people who dislike this.

  • His voice is so annoying but it kicks ass at the same time

  • @TheNyteChyld exactly right.

  • Actually... @fleaaccela or whatever your name is... Uhm... UDS has a album out 8 months before RATM...

  • quit crying Urban Dance Squad just rulz point.

  • shit i used to listen to this in high school.. good memories lol

  • I like this hat :)

  • These guys are dutch?

  • @AtGiza yes

  • @AtGiza hell they are, does not sound like 'Olsen brothers' though :D

  • @AtGiza OH YEAH!!

  • i dont give a shit by which band ratm is inspired. just turn the volume up

  • ah, this brings back good memories.

  • Check out the new band of Rudeboy: UDS goes surf: The Phantom Four & The Arguido!

  • @tonwerf he had also another projekt who called BATTLESOF 1977!

  • I heard the RATM is the rich cousin....

  • m6 ! x)

  • Well if (in an altered universe) these bands played in the same time in different stages, I d like to see where we d all be.. And dont tell me uds because you are faggots.

Also its not a race of "who started it all" thing and "who listens to the older stuff".

  • RATM has been surely inspired by this band but not only:

run dmc and aerosmith made big sound in 86

Beastie boys made "licence to ill" in 1986.

Red hot chili peppers made 4 albums before "blood sugar sex magik" in 1991. their first was in 1984.

The big difference between these bands and ratm is Tom Morello.

Tom created new sounds with his guitar. Beatie boys, rhcp, run dmc/aerosmith , Anthrax/public enemy etc. did just mix rap and rock music.

Ratm has been inspired but gave it his touch. wil

  • Wasn't Urban Dance Squad inspired by the Beastie Boys' first album Licensed to Ill in 1986? They did a few songs with rock guitars in them. And of course, Run DMC was the first rap group do put heavy guitars in their songs, such as Rock Box and King of Rock.

  • mental floss for the globe is 1989.... a couple of years before RATM first album....

  • Saw Rudeboy last weekend performing with the Phantom Four, excellent combo as well!

  • This kind of "fighting" bout UDS and RATM?Smells like not so ok.And why?

Rage was proud that UDS made things clear in that funky great way.Rage was inspired by UDS and others.Isn't it just great to pick up on your travel the things that u like in other bands. No one is without any kind of inspriration and somehow influence of other music..Can just be great. If you don't abuse.Just making use of beautiful and pure things.IThis time screams for more rebellion in a so cool and pure way.More please!

  • This is a killer song by the way!

  • Didn't this song come out in 1994?

The self titled RATM record came out in 1992.

Not saying Urban Dance Squad did not influence Rage but the facts are facts.

  • @flojoband Maybe you should check the dates of when RATM started music commercially, and when UDS did.

    Idiot.

  • @ELREndLondonRule no argument UDS started releasing records commercially before RATM. I've heard UDS pre-92 and they sound more like the Urge, 2SJ, RHCP, or even some 311. I can thank UDS for some of my favorite music.

Simply, this song came out after RATM's debut record, and UDS didn't really release this more aggressive sounding music until 1994 with "Persona Non Grata", which is a great record. So focus less on when the bands started releasing commercial records and more on the music.

  • @flojoband yes UDS had more of a mellow theme but plenty of hard core aggressive tracks such as God Blasts the Queen even from their first LP back in '89. not saying that RATM were influenced by UDS either but defo not the other way around

  • Saw them open for Living Color back in '91...WORST concert I ever seen. It was so bad, I demanded my money back...all $10 of it!

  • To say that Urban Dance Squad inspired a lot of bands, Rage Against the Machine included is a big understatement !

UDS kicked ass but in a groovy way !!! Most of the bands trying this simply don't rock or groove...

  • Jesus christ UDS is the shit!!!

  • Good ol Dutch crossover,.. the early nineties rocked.. ^^

  • old scool cool

  • Just discovered these guys are from my country!!

  • Very underrated!

  • I dedicate this song to all french presidents of the fifth (filth?) republic, from the big Charles to the very little Nicolas !

  • 'tain, mais comment il démonte tres manos...

  • lol... 14 "wankers" gave dumbass donkeyblues a thumbs up.

  • Whadda fuck is this cap ?! XD

  • Best dutch band ever! Miss them!!!

  • Best dutch band ever, the netherlands at it's finest.

  • Don't get me wrong, I love both UDS and RATM, but RATM was inspired by UDS (they don't even denie it, and why would they, what artist isn't inspired by another). UDS was inspired by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. RHCP was probably inspired by another great band, and so on. You want to hear something uninspired? Go check out the hitlist!

  • Great to see so many likers of this band.20 years ago when I first heard them I knew no one else who was into them. Beastie Boys is the only band I can think of that was around who might have inspired them,a combination of Punk,Rap and all kinds of other shit mixed in.They where considered alternative,or underground back then.Long before this kind of music became Mainstream.THUMBS UP to all my fellow old punks out there.

  • Superb !!! ihave seen them awesome...........

  • ajajajajaja URBANCE DANCE SQUAD is the maxim influence of rage against the machine

  • I am a massive RATM fan..but how the hell did i miss this? this is awesome!

  • Man the chorus sounds like RATM's "that five sided fistagon"

  • @miceypoo Tom Morello could only dream he's as talented as Tres Manos...

  • One of the bands that started a whole genre.. Come back UDS... Yr missd... ; )

  • This would be better if they preserved the original audio. The audio here doesn't sync with the video. I hope someone posts a synced copy of this video version of "Demagogue"!

  • if anyone wants to say uds sounds like rage thats like saying Black and white t.v. is as good as color.

  • Still my pioniers

  • may have been before RATM, and they did inspire them, but rage perfected the rap rock musica :D

  • Demagogia es la ke llevan manisfestando los medios 15 años dotando de una falsa originalidad a RATM. No hay mas que escuchar a estos holandeses.

Ke grandes y olvidados en el ostracismo por generaciones enteras

  • Comment removed

  • Fakes. They found the right rythm, the rough catchy one.

And they played it over and over. They are really out of the blue so magic punk band. The video suck, their attitude is heavy. I believe they are just music makers.

Worthless, like a worker salary. An insult to the kind.

  • The style is similar to Rage, but he sounds nothing like De La Rocha. It's interesting, as if they were foreshadowing the rise of Sarah Palin, as the U.S.'s best known demagogue...

  • un des plus grands groupes en live !

  • this is good, i thought it was RATM, verysimilarsound, both awsome bands

  • and on the seventh day God sat back and smoked a joint looked at his creation saw it wasnt mutch to correct this He Created the Dutch UDS the godfathers of Rapcore this is my youth well spend to all you out there going on about this being a RATM or Chillipeppers ripoff please do your homework, go look at the dates on wiki or something.... Damn its good to hear this one again Groeten uit Nederland

  • @Bertranddeghaul You forgot Run DMC, blasphemy! lol

  • wat is dit toch vet!

  • En dan te bedenken dat Wilders er toen nog niet eens was. Laat staan (liggen, zo u wilt) Fortuin.

  • Hadden we nog de gulden man

  • Heh, this band reminds me a bit of Quarashi x) yet, I only know that Quarashi is inspired by P.E... Who knows, maybe this one too?

  • They always come after my Nine Hagen session.

  • Rudeboy is the only MC from The Netherlands that got the full respect from the American HipHopscene and that says a lot! Love that guy, best dutch MC from a longshot! Yeah I'm dutch too,,,,,,

  • @Jinxsta13 so what with Rockattack Ten ?

  • Grande band!

  • what stoeapp said!!!

  • haha don't make me laugh, RATM is inspired by this band

  • @Stoeapp Totally right!

  • @Stoeapp thats´ 4 sure!!!

  • @Stoeapp agree

  • Dude same time line, same influences, one shot forward the other didn't, happens

  • @fleaaccela

Pffffffffff! This song is 5 years older than the first RATM album, go and do your home work wanker!

  • 5 years? I think this is 1994, first RATM 1992. anyway, I agree RATM must pay the dues to UDS.

I saw UDS in 1993 with Primus and I Mother Earth and it was one of the best cocnerts of my life

  • @fraz6666 UDS started in 1986...

  • @donkeyblues yeah booooooi :p .....;)

  • @donkeyblues Actually RATM's first album came out in '91 and UDS's Persona Non grata came out in 1994

  • @donkeyblues the first UDS record came out in '89. The first RATM record came out in '92. no need to be so f'in rude.. especially when u r wrong.. wanker.

  • @TheBass2themax True, but THIS song is from PERSONA NON GRATA, not the first UDS CD. Persona Non Grata is the heaviest and most rock-oriented album.

  • Comment removed

  • 100% agree

  • @donkeyblues Urban Dance Squad founded in 1986! First album 1989... RATM founded 1991... So STFU!

  • @donkeyblues

    @donkeyblues

I think you better do another homework instead of jerking. Urban Dance Squad formed in 1986. Their first official album was released in 1989.

And Zack De La Rocha, Tom Morello stated their inspiraiton from UDS in different stages.

An easy google homework would help you. Or even Allmusic or Wikipedia.

  • @donkeyblues urban dance squad is way older than RATM

  • @donkeyblues The song might be older but UDS as a band have been around longer and were doin this style first.

  • Yo where you been son? UDS was out way before Rage do your history and shut the fuck up.

  • @fleaaccela If this is a joke, please try again. If this is serious, yeah eeeh.. nevermind..........

  • @fleaaccela oh you fucktard

  • Something like ICP

  • @matimac666 kiddin me dod?

  • Beestachtig goed deze gasten!

  • OK...now i know why i was listening to them back in the day. Raw powerfull funky Rock and that remarkable voice of the frontman. Great combo!

  • In a sence these dudes help to put RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE

  • ..... in a sence?? First of all, that's not even english. Second, I do know what you are saying, yet you are wrong. This is the band that influenced RATM to become what they are now. Though, I still prefer UDS.

    UDS for ever.

  • i agree

  • De beste gitaarriffs en compacte sound!

  • Gruwlijke band, over deze clip mochten ze wat mij betreft langer overwegen om op te nemen.

  • THESE GUYS SHOULD WORK WIYH SENSER

  • A duet between Heitham and Rudeboy could kick a lot of wannabe's ass (no, I didn't say Zach -whatever- de la Rocha !)

  • DAMN RIGHT!!!

    BIG UP!!!

  • Dutch Pride

  • parece rage against the machine

  • one of the best bands in the world...bad luck they came in the bad time..maybe!
