Chicago - Morning Skyline

Chicago is a "2nd city" ONLY because of size...NYC is tops, and I'm a Chicagoan saying this...if it weren't for NYC's size, Chicago would be king...Chicago was a better planned city, and manages its waterways, green space and concrete MUCH better than NYC...that's the truth! Chicago's cleaner than NYC, in some spots just as exciting, but unfortunately we can't match the waves of LA. Come tan on our vast beaches though! Chicago's Navy Pier blows Coney Island and Santa Monica harbor anyday...

I can't fucking believe people don't recognize Toronto's skyline, they have the 2nd most high rises in North America and their high rises extend all the way to the inner city where chicago and New York build their buildings on the waterfront only.

chicago and new york have the sorriest skyline's ever los angeles skyline takes them anytime... sorry no desrespect but it's true people should see the L.A. area skyline at night its unbelieveable you could see how much damb traffic of car's there is.maybe because the population is about 17 million making it the second biggest city in the world behind mexico city...

@Skylinedreamz it only looks cool cuz of the mountains..i went to LA and i was taken away by its size and how spread out it was, but if Chicago had more elevation it would be even more breathtaking. This video was taken before the building boom so there are at least 12 major developments missing in this shot.

@eaguir3 You're right. I just got back from LA, and despite the mountains and elevation it has, it's skyline is supremely poor. I get it though; LA was bulit up to be a tinseltown, not a sprawling metropolis. LA plays its position well. LA is indeed so spread out...

That water you see in the video is Lake Michigan. It is one of 5 large lakes (The Great Lakes) in the American midwest which combined comprise the largest body of fresh water in the world. It would not be affected by melting glacial ice.

A bigger problem Chicago might face in the future is the southwest cities (Las Vegas, Phoenix, LA, etc.) trying to steal the water and pipe it out of the Great Lakes watershed into the desert, thus lowering the level of the lakes significantly.
