  • Thank you for playing my arrangement! Stellar! - Mark Thallander

  • I must say that this video is awesome as i love to hear a pipe organ play and of coarse who is playing it, the only thing i wished on this and the other videos is that there was a up-close shot of the console i love to see that too and watch it while it is being played

  • @willowthebored: those aren't electronic effects, they are the 'trompettes en chamade,' of which this instrument has at least three (one on the main organ case, and two set to the right and left, which must create an awesome antiphonal or stereo effect when heard live). Sometimes called 'party horns' by organists, they are designed to cut through whatever else is happening on the instrument.

  • Great work!

  • I had never heard this toccata by Thallander on Ode to Joy. What a treat it has been to hear and see this magnificent organ in the Calvary Cathedral. Thanks for posting this gem.

  • jeeeez that guy is good

  • I've seen Mark play this live...and with one hand

  • As beaten-to-death as that melody is, this is VERY nice. This is Cleaveland's own work? Bravo, if so.

I like the sound that comes out of that Moller overall...it's very balanced and versatile (albeit I hate the electronic extensions...*glares*)

  • @willowthebored Agreed with the electronic extensions...

  • @willowthebored If those extensions are from Bob Walker, they are the best in the business. There is a IV/80 rank Aeolian Skinner here in Honolulu that has about 25 of Walker's digital stops (from other A-S organs or the same period) added and they are awesome! That A-S has FIVE 32's

  • What is the first trumpet stop you use after the opening pedal lines? Is it one of the chamades?

  • It sounds like a Tuba to me.

  • Une version très originale d'une oeuvre de Beethowen magnifiquement interpretée par John sur son instrument hors du commun. Un vrai plaisir, je ne me lasserai pas d'écouter cette musique.
