What the fuck even is that kind of reasoning...Ron Paul has never disdained the healthcare idea- however, there are many glaring flaws with our current system that he seeks to change. Ron Paul is heavily influenced by Martin Luther King, who was a member of the Republican party years ago. Ron Paul is also an advocate for homosexuals. The GLBT community supports him because he argues that marriage is a religious function, not one that should be controlled or regulated in any way by the U.S. government. Why should the government be allowed to tell us who we can or can't love? Government and the states need to butt out and quit telling people how to live.
He sounds very friendly and it's a nice thought that everyone is equal in his eyes, but the fact of the matter is, an agenda like his would never pass through congress.
Gay people can already enter a "business contract" with eachother but that does not equal marriage.
Even civil unions offer more benefits than a business contract or by incorporating ones self. What he is actually advocating here, can land a person in prison for tax evasion under current laws.
Marriage is nothing but a contract. Gays are being denied all the benefits that the contract entails, and are being offered a lesser contract with over 1,000 less benefits. It's obvious discrimination, and the only justification given for the discrimination is religious, and religion should not enter a debate about secular legal contracts.
