  • @jerumd I use a heat mat under 1\3 of the terrarium and a night lamp.

It works fine, but it took a lot of effort to get them just right.

It's also hard to get materials for the terrarium, I'm lucky that I'm a veterinarian and have easy acces to most if it.

Simple things like night lamps\potting soil without fertilizer.

  • @Koostbraaksel To be honest with you, i really don't recommend heating mats since, heating mats are capable of creating heat spots that's potentially fatal for burning your tarantulas especially if you place your heat mats close to the T's layer.

  • @jerumd I know, that's why I only have it on 1\3 of the terrarium.

  • You're an idiot. Enclosure is far too small and this spider should not be eating mice......

  • @angelmouse432 Ow Really.. The enclosure is perfectly fine, except for some additional substrate like moss and potting soil. You also said Ts are not supposed to be eating mice. Mmm..?? Its not like Tarantulas never gets a chance encounter with wild mice, lizards, and small snakes in the wild. Opportunities like this are just too good to pass up for a hungry T. Let me get something straight.. I only feed my Ts mice twice a year only. You don't have to feed them constantly with a diet of mice.

  • @angelmouse432 I can't believe 5 stupid idiots just put a 5 thumbs up your BS. I guess those 5 stupid idiots don't know shit about caring for Ts. Listen!! If you think this video is inhumane, or unethical, maybe you're the idiot who pretends to stumble upon this video and watched it for your own amusement you judgmental SOB!!

  • @jerumd He didn't say it's unhumane, but mice isn't good for tarantulas.

And that is, scientifically proven, if they're in captivity they should be eating crickets.

  • @Koostbraaksel Oh really.. Scientifically proven my ass.. I will repeat this again, "you will only need to feed your fully grown hungry tarantula mice once or, twice a year only, not constantly," if you really are a smart ass, you should know all of this by now.. XD LOL!!

  • @jerumd Feeding it mice twice a year doesn't make mice better as food.

It's not good for their health.

  • @Koostbraaksel Why wont you try to blame those people living inside these unsanitary houses infested with these rodents, who much rather torture them first in a sadistic way, before killing them every year?? Try to talk some sense into them?? Now we all know that most humans eats meat, have you ever been inside a slaughter house before?? See how these people slaughter these poor animals the unethical way after it hits your own dinner plate. Try to talk some sense into these people XD LOL!!

  • @jerumd Mice can possible damage the tarantula, it isn't a ''treat'' for them as tarantulas don't have taste, they don't enjoy killing either, and it's harder to digest.

You'd be better off feeding them crickets.

  • @Koostbraaksel Look, if you're explaining this to me in a scientific way, you already proven yourself to be an idiot because, it is up to the Tarantula to make his own choices if he wants the mice or not. I own 22 tarantulas in my hobby right now, and if i attempt to feed them mice once, and they don't want to eat it, i never force them to eat the darn thing, and i move on to the next tarantula who wants to eat mice.

  • @Koostbraaksel See.. There you go again, another stupid reply XD LOL!! It depends on the size of the tarantula that you're feeding the mice with. The mice needs to the same size or a little bigger than the tarantula's abdomen that you're attempting to feed. All 22 of my tarantulas are doing fine. No molting problems, and every single one of them have a taste for mice and house geckos.

  • @jerumd That they can survive with just eating mice doesn't mean that it's good for their health.

Their size isn't going to help them digest it faster.

You're one retarded motherfucker, aren't you?

  • Comment removed

  • @Koostbraaksel Pfffss.. You said "Their size isn't going to digest the mice faster" XD LOL!! Tarantulas normal diet consist mostly on invertebrates and vertebrates in the wild. Some tarantula species are almost entirely evolved to take on vertebrates in the wild. They are more resilient than you think. So please.. Try not to be a smart ass by explaining to me about Ts having hard time digesting mammalian foods, doesn't justify mammalians falling victims to Ts in the wild every year OK STUPID!!

  • @jerumd Oh god, are you mentally disabled.

What I'm trying to say is that it would be BETTER to feed it CRICKETS.

I do not give a fuck if you think that it's good to give them food that can possible damage them.

That's your problem, I'd like to keep them healthy.

Are you aware of how fucking fragile spiders are, you moronic piece of shit?

  • @Koostbraaksel Then stick to crickets then stupid!! And stop trolling through people's decent videos so you can just annoy people by matching their opinions to your own idiotic opinion. If you respect people's opinion, wouldn't be embarrassing yourself to a great degree. Yes, i am fully aware of how fragile tarantulas are but, did i say anything about constantly feeding Ts mice? Did i mention anything about feeding Ts mice larger than the T itself? Maybe you're the moronic piece of shit!!

  • @jerumd I don't want your tarantulas to die either, I know that they are capable of killing mice, but it's still possible that they'll get hurt.

And how's it an idiotic opinion to feed them the most common food for tarantulas there is?

You know why it's the most common food? because it's the best.

  • @Koostbraaksel I do appreciate your concerns for the well being of Ts, especially mines, and i do thank you for that because, i am a T lover. Its not an idiotic opinion to feed your Ts insects like crickets.

  • @Koostbraaksel I also feed my Ts crickets too, as well as cultured dubia cockroaches. I am not a big fan of catching parasite infested insects out of my house and pass em to my Ts. Look, i do understand your opinion about not feeding Ts mice but, its really annoying buying these expensive frozen mice for your my Ts expecting my Ts not to eat em every year. So i thinks its better to feed them live vertebrates..

  • @jerumd Oh you're giving them frozen mice?

I thought you were giving them living mice.

If it can't fight back it should be good.

  • @Koostbraaksel I once tried to feed them frozen mice but i stopped because, my Ts won't even attempt to eat em if its not moving. So i switched to live mice, that's cheaper, fresh, and accepted by my Ts as a food source without hesitation. You don't have to fight back because, it is pure common sense if you have experience with T behaviors OK..

  • @jerumd If you feed them dead mice you should move it around with a stick (or something like that) a bit.

I prefer feeding my white knee crickets, because it can't possibly harm it.

I know that feeding them crickets every week is more expensive than mice though.

  • @Koostbraaksel They still won't eat the mice though because, its not as close to the real thing for my Ts. They strike the dead mice but, they eventually let it go. My tarantulas will eat any kind of insects, especially crickets. I feed my Ts black crickets and Dubia. I breed my feeder insects i never bought any crickets for 5 months now from what i remember since, i have a constant supply of live feeder insects that i breed for my Ts..

  • @jerumd It's probally because dead mice doesn't have circulatory\heat.

  • @Koostbraaksel A. Geniculatas are one of my favorite species that i own right now in my hobby. Their hunger is almost legendary, and they rarely refuse any kind of food who dares crosses their paths in captivity, or in the wild..

  • @jerumd It's quite hard to make a proper terrarium for Geniculate in my country.

It's still one of my favourites though, I also have a B. Albopilosum

  • Comment removed

  • @Koostbraaksel If you have your own cage, the floor space is much more important than the height of the terrarium since, tarantulas will in fact climb and will fall & hurt themselves. B. Albopilosums are one of my favorites too. I never had one yet but, i planning to purchase one soon. The hairs of this species looked like they are fresh out a blow dryer XD LOL!!
