I watched an interview with a fellow in it who was heading the program and he said every we see and hear from the Pheonix happened 15-20 minutes ago. Hopefully that helps.

YAH I am thinking the same thing... how can they know touchdown was good when it takes 16 minutes for signal to reach earth.
Is real time data possible?
