  • Lets pair Johnny Weir as Romeo to Michelle Kwan's Juliet so that kwansansog can get the picture and so she won't have to engage herself in mindless stupidity. I think Michelle Kwan also makes a fine Juliet- mind me, without these soaring spirals and other stupendous extension. Michelle is certainly no Sasha. And please let us stop constantly comparing Michelle Kwan to Sasha. Thanks!

  • my teacher showed this to me in class shes amazing

  • I love this so much! michelle is way better than sasha.

  • z-snap-alicious! amazing!!!

  • im 14.

i would always watch michelle in her past olympics in the late 1990's.

Now im in the running for olympics all because of her inspiration♥

  • very impressive editiing skills. you have made a very wonderful piece.

  • perfect song

  • Stunning achievement

  • What is the name of the music?

  • To me Michelle Kwan is truly the best!! i have no doubt on that =D she skates with such passion and beauty! simply magical to see her skate because she skates with her heart! Ive seen other professional skaters now a days and they skate pretty good but Michelle now thats what i call ICE SKATING =D

  • Can I know who is the autor of this music? :O

  • @Zabouumafouu It's from Franco Zeffirelli's 'Romeo and Juliet' (1968); the music is by Nino Rota.

  • wow she gives me so much inspiration

i reeeeeeeeaally wanna skate like her!!

  • Nicely edited, good continuity; well synchronized with the music (and that takes a lot of time). Lovely, overall.

  • this is beautiful

  • Sasha Cohen is a snobby little twit.

  • @JNagarya , but she is gorgeous and pleasure to watch. Michelle is just boring.

  • @Tihbialdunav Sasha is boring! She shows absolutely no true emotion in h er skating, just a whole lot of "Oooooh look, another flashy flexible trick!" Michelle has heart.

  • "The difference between Sasha and everyone else is everyone else skates to Romeo and Juliet, she is Juliet"

  • yeah, i totally agree, she takes on her representation of personality of Juliet, and does so splendidly!

  • @kwansansog These rude and crude comments by you are a disgrace! Grow up!

  • I miss watching her compete!

  • michelle rocks!

  • Amazing montage! Kudos to you, kwanderful for the meticulous selection of music and synchronization of the contour and climaxes with the Michelle's skating. Perfect!!! Maybe Michelle should hire you as her choreographer?

  • She would have her work cut out for her, but if anyone could make a comeback, she could!

  • Michelle does everything perfectly, and squeezes every point out of what she can do, and doesn't try to do too much. If she upped the difficulty on her spins and footwork, then she can beat the system and the other skaters.

Her program component scores are always astronomical anyway (edges, expression, etc.) So she would have several points extra to make up for lack of technical elements.

A perfect triple/double beats a sloppy triple/triple every time. (almost)

  • I AGREE!!!!

  • love the vid. I miss her skating is not the same anymore.

  • what song is this? i love it.

  • its Romeo and Juliet

  • yeah but by which artist? i can't find it anywhere. i don't think it's Henry Mancini even though he wrote the original score.

  • well' it's 2009 already and michelle will be making a decision....kinda excited 4 it n i really hope she does come back...

i dont think it will be unfair if kwan does make a comeback. no one is going to lose their spot, everyone will compete for that spot n whoever is good enough, will get it...

  • I read that she said she would make a decision in 2009 about whether she would return or not. Since its not 2009 yet, I can still hope and pray!

  • This is really kind of awesome. I love it I love it!

  • Thanks :D I loved the music and thought Michelle could do amazing things with it. Since she never skated to it, I made a program to it just so I could see how it would look.

  • nice job

    sold program

    i miss her so much!

  • I miss her, too! While I think YuNa, Mao, Yukari, Caroline, Joannie, and Fumie are great, there is that special spark missing that made me want to tune in each season, and it seems only Michelle had that for me.

  • i hope she does compete next season. she is one of the few that i could sit and watch 24/7.

  • I hope so, too! I pretty much stopped watching skating since Michelle withdrew in 2006. A lot of the current skaters are talented and have the jumps, but it's not the same as Michelle's passion.

  • Where did you hear Michelle my compete next season?

  • Michelle was on the Today show during the Summer Olympics, where she said she would make a decision on whether to compete in the 2010 Olympics in November of this year. She didn't, however, say when she would make that decision public, so now it's a waiting game with fingers crossed! I think a healthy Michelle can beat any of the current skaters, even Mao and YuNa, as good as both are.

  • I doubt it I love Michelle as much as the next person but, it's just the current skaters are just to good. Plus if she wanted to she can't compete this season because if she does its not fair! Someone will have to loose there spot for Michelle.

  • Actually the judges are being very tough on under rotated jumps and almost every skater is losing points for cheated jumps including Mao and Yuna.

If Michelle hit her triples as clean as she usually does that she has a chance.

Kwanderful, What are her point totals for this is you added it up?

  • Very true. I think Mao hasn't gotten credit for a triple triple this season yet, and there have been loads of mark downs for Yukari, Miki, Caroline, and others.

As shown, the total base TES is 55.93 (Lvl 1 Layback, Lvl 1 Flying Sit, Lvl 2 Step, Lvl 3 Sprial, and Lvl 2 Combo), comparable to the base totals most of the skaters have gotten this season. Michelle can get 4's in all except maybe Lvl 3 in step and layback, then it's 60.13. Change Flip in combo to lutz, and it's 60.68.

  • To comment of this is will be wrong. Michelle will pull the loop out of the program and do 3Lutz/2 loop or 2 toe loop, 3 lutz, 3 toe/3 toe, 3 flip/2 top loe/ 2 loop, 3 salchow, 3 flip. She raised her layback to at lease level 2, footwork will be level 2 or 3, spins level 3 maybe except sit spin.

  • I don't think that Michelle would be competing any time this season, as she already missed all the qualifying regionals and sectionals, but if she does compete next season and gets a spot on the World and/or Olympic team, then the person who didn't get a spot didn't really deserve it, by not scoring better than Michelle. Outside of YuNa and Mao, both of whom haven't been flawless this year, all the skaters have been very beatable. It won't be easy, but a healthy Michelle can have a chance.

  • Maybe but I think she would have some major competition, I don't think has as much experience competing in this judging system as the a lot of the other skaters. But then again EVERYONE loves Michelle so they would probably boost her point total and lowers other skaters which would give her a better shot.
