there is a similar painting of a little girl and 2 different crying boy paintings in my neighbours house, all 3 are on a wall in the lounge and they av been there for around 30 yrs now and there has been no fire but these were popular paintings and many people had them. this isnt even the right portrait.l the correct one hes the child bearing ever so slightly to the left. but the face and eyes are faced towards you. the childs face is also more rounder and he has warmer colored hair.

I saw this painting and then went to bed later that night. I saw a face in my closet....its one of those dreams where you wake up but your still really asleep. I got up, but still sat in my bed, looked in my closet, and saw the left door open. The left door is never open and is always only slightly open. The right door of the closet is broken so the door is just chillin' inside the closet for now. I tried not to think too much about it, but the next morning I awoke with a night sweat.

I saw this painting and then went to bed later that night. I saw a face in my closet....its one of those dreams where you wake up but your still really asleep. I got up, but still sat in my bed, looked in my closet, and saw the left door open. The left door is never open and is always only slightly open. The right door of the closet is broken so the door is just chillin' inside the closet for now. I tried not to think too much about it, but the next morning I awoke with a night sweat.

late reply here haha! anyways yes it did creep the hell out of me. it took me a while to see the whole thing with fairly loud quality volume! i was watchin at night by myself. but the scariest part is that it made cry of fear too. AHHHH! i was like something better not pop out (thats why its hard to watch with the sound) cause ive been watching too many of those too.

I know at least one other painting called The Crying boy that is roumoured to be responsable for unexplained house fires.
But how come the shops that sell the prints never catch fire.

I worked for an old established Art shop in Sheffield for over 20 years.

My uncle had the picture BLUEBOY in his dining room. Sifting through the ruins after his house burned Uncle Erasmus found the picture. All that kid's clothes had been burned off except for his underpants and undershirt which were, you guessed it, blue. He was laughing and saying "Thank heaven. I got rid of those fancy clothes. All the kids were saying that I was gay"

history was that he lost his parents in the fire so he had to go to a spanish painter who abused his phisicly and mentally in order for his to cry so when he died it was believed that his spirit went into the painting and burns down the houses who have copies but he won't burn it if you have a crying girl next to the painting...BOO!
