  • So this was 3yrs ago? Whatever happened with that cause? Did it work out? Was he able to get it approved?

  • check out: "Women wear pants. Let Men wear skirts!" and support the cause on fb by liking the page of the same name.

  • Kilts are the most comfortable and cool form of dress ever! I don't see why you yanks can't wear anything you want as you are a nation created by many cultures :( Oh well if I am not allowed to wear one to school (I live in Wales) then you aren't allowed to wear one to work. Go UNITED KINGDOM of GREAT BRITAIN and northern ireland !!! :D

  • utilikilts are awesome

  • Kilts are awesome :3

I am supportive of other male nonbifurcated outfits should be allowed, whether it be a kilt (Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and places with celtic ancestors), a fustanella(Greece and the Balkans), Sarongs( Worn in Asia, Africa, Pacific Isles, and Arabian Penninsula), and Hakama(Japanese). Why should America, a place composed of people from all of these places and more, deny people the right to where the garbs of their people?

  • I agree totally. I am roughly 40% Scottish with more German in me, and I am having a kilt with my mothers maiden last name ( Campbell ) and tartan pattern made by USA Kilts so I can embrace and give due respect to my background as well. I believe that all peoples as you have mentioned should wear what they want to show their heritage. I will definitely wear mine as much as I can.

  • @gruumish Psychiatry is the apex reason why men are denied choices--it took over the lead from religious fanaticism. Men wore skirts as men for 1,000's of years, we do it now, we have to get called "crossdressers" unless it's ethnic like a kilt. I had exchange with Lutheran woman minister who faulted me for citing "secular" (extra-Biblical) info, THEN she cited "crossdressing," SECULAR source (psychiatry!) Bet when she needs directions to Chicago see looks at SECULAR info as map isn't in BIBLE

  • waiting for commercial to load... now waiting for video to load...

  • I'm a mail carrier, and I want to wear a neon green thong over a full-body garbage bag with a pirate hat.

  • @CambridgeHeights ...LMAO!!!.......But give the guy a chance...lol

  • I like how he says "the correct answer" not necessarily the true answer, but the one that won't get him in trouble, lol. if someone asks is anything worn beneath the kilt, the correct answer is "No, it's all in perfect working order."

  • YAY kilts! I think we should get rid of suits and ties along with blazers and replace this antiquated junk with more comfortable men's wear, including kilts.

Pants, skirts, whats the difference! pants are little more than a skirt cut and sewn into two halves.

  • If it's his thing, what's the problem ? There is nothing perverse about it

  • DOWN WITH PANTS! UP WITH KILTS! LOL!

  • d00d UPDATES?

  • I like what he's thinking. The people shouldn't make such a big deal out of it. But then again, should he make such a big deal out of it too? It's not that hard to just wear pants at work then change into your kilt at home.

  • very cool. i guess it´s a utilikilt he´s wearing? imho the best kilts you can achieve. but quite expensive. skurts4men offers lower priced kilts and skirts but actually arent as perfect as utilikilts; pretty good though. alphakilts are quite expensive too, but i dont like them.

  • good on you friend!!! does anyone know if he got the thumbs up? as its 2010 nov as i post this

  • I want to get some kilt's

  • I already wear my kilts (yes, plural) to work.

  • I already wear my kilts (yes, plural) to work

  • LET HIM WEAR HIS KILT!!!

  • He needs a kilt made by "Kilt This!" custom kilts.

  • x marks the scot :D

  • x marks the scot

  • Awesome!

  • i support this man, if it passes, my boss may let me wear my utilikilt to work

  • God Bless the Man who wears a Kilt! SUPPORT THE KILT!!!!!

  • there are Scots who settled in the US and Canada, Most scots ancesstors made sure they past on where they came from so they would never forget there proud history. But theys chumps who have no conection to Scotland are morons! plus the proper thing to were under your kilt is nothing you postal dope!

  • I AM A DESCENDANT OF THE CAMERON CLAN

  • dude im not 23 u stipid nazi

  • your name suits you, i take it thats what you were called at school?

do you still live in a caravan?

  • lol no not reli and i luv ma caravan :D

  • and y ar u stickn up 4 the americans!!!!!

  • i used to wear my kilt to work, and i work for the state.and no one had a problem with it. why does the country accept gays but cant handle a guy in a kilt

  • @bettyboop65340 BECAUSE the gays you mention are wearing conventional attire---and people worry more over PACKAGING than what's INSIDE the PACKAGE! Gays changed the intrinsic, this costume did not change the intrinsic.

  • Real men wear kilts!!! c'mon scotland!!!!

  • Kilts are amazing! I'm a proud member of the clan McDonald.

It's hard on two accounts though:

People tend to think you're cross-dressing. FALSE!!!

  • (Sorry, fat fingers.)

And two, it's hard to find a place will except a kilt as proper attire.

Let's see the kilt become acceptable clothing here in the states! I'm not just talking about those blasted Scarborough Fairs either.

  • The kilt was indeed discovered within the Highlands of Scotland and if you're too deluded enough to believe this then don't bother commenting on it.

    I know the facts, pal.

  • Not technically, scotland is well known for them

  • Kilts are Scottish, but anyone can wear them.

  • you also have my support even though i do not live in the states. i just bought a kilt and its being made in scotland. they are so comfortable for men and we should wear them in public without being disrespect. And you don't have to be scottish in order to wear one. Early kilts and tartans have been discovered in china , africa . Even the Romans wore them. Wear a kilt!

  • You have my support!! I think kilts are very manly and very compfortable. I wear them myself and my collection is just getting bigger and my girlfriend wears mini-kilts to match when we go to a function together.

Real Men Wear Kilts!! and stop with the homophob comments about skirts...totally different issue not to be confused or assosiated with a Kilt!

  • "Kilts are not skirts because they don't hang from waist & don't enclose legs together" is what has to be believed to say kilts aren't skirts. Of course they are skirts, a particular type, terminology alters nothing. You don't see Greeks denying what they wear is a SKIRT & no fear of that SEX NEUTRAL WORD. Only objections to kilts are denials of what they are and insistence that it's the ONLY nontrouser style men can wear. We Greeks have our own SKIRT for LONGER TIME THAN SCOTS---understand?

  • I think the kilt looks great with the uniform, and so many men enjoy wearing kilts. I think our U.S. Goverment is not aware that kilts have been part of the Scottish Regiment's dress for a couple of centuries. Check out the Black Watch - very classy, not loud tartan colors, very nice. There is even a U.S. tartan pattern that could be used. Google it.

  • I hear Scotland the Brave in the background!! WOOHOO!!

  • I strongly favor the kilt!!

  • I SUPPORT THE KILT!

  • I applaud Mr. Peterson for taking a stand in what he believes in. If more people would be like him, we would be able to get rid of such sexiest dress codes.

  • @rudyiking Then there's the mindset that a kilt is the only (they won't let me say "skirt" due to silly allergy they want me to say "nonbifurcated garment") a man can legitimately wear. We can't say "skirt" we must say "nonbifurcated" get over "skirt" it's sex neutral in ancient Egypt, Greece, Macedonia, Rome etc. What if a Greek wants to wear his fustanella? Will the kilt only faction (they ARE a faction) say "you can't do that, it HAS to be a kilt!) NO IT DOES NOT "HAVE TO BE A KILT."

  • Good luck with that! It looks like the Kilts you buy over at Utilikilts com in Seattle Washington. People are walking all over Seattle with Utilikilts on now. Since its a Federal decision, I doubt you'll be able to get it to pass a majority vote though. Once you get Kilts approves, whats to stop male carriers from where female skirts next?

  • i back that guy 100%. im glad he made it clear that its the stewart clans tartan and not a universal one like everyone seems to think!

  • lol i sometimes dont wear anything under mine but i think u would want to if ur a postal dude
