*I wonder how you will go about shaving a further 2 seconds off your time to match, or better, the current WR.

Ah. Unfortunately I have no motivation at moment. Perhaps I shall try again later, but I don't think so. What I'd do to have a better time - have a perfect boost in the beginning and those mushroom-boots must be perfect. They do affect A LOT.

how can you get that long power up when you drift.. i mean that you lift your steer and then you contain that speed.. is that because you have the orgininal steer for the game or is it the type of vehicel?

No, I'm running with the Gamecube controller. You can "step up" your bike by pushing the UP D-PAD. I don't know which button it is on the other controllers, you have to check it by yourself.
