ross is terrific but he isnt a ledgend. not yet. he hasnt done anything original, he is a great historic artist but neil, and kirby? no one is better than those guys.
According to Neal once the wasnt just one continent rounded by a sea, but the old continents were the only surface of the globe.´The three-dimentional expanding has torn apart the continents from each other. Neal doesn´t talk about accelerated expanding, so his theory needs gravitation.
According to my theory there is no observable expanding if there is not enough variation of the pressure.
Once for example a supernova explosion that happened nearby the globe brought an energywave dence enough towards the globe. The energic energybudles of this wave pushed themselves through the atomcores of the
globe deep inside the globe (for example up to ten kilometres).
These energybudles cleaned with them energywaves coming from the atomcores. The expanding atoms of the globe that located outside this area, pushed the atomcores of that area closer to each other. At the same time the expanding atomcores of that area expanded close to each other like in cold fusion. This is how heavier substaces originate and in this case I mean the shelf.
separate energybudles of a energypulse that came towards the globe were quarks or protons/neutrons, they would have brought more substance deep underneath the globes surface. This developes a pressure that is bigger than normally to that area and this pressure accelerates the substace of that area to push itself away from the focal point of the globe. This is how the mountains developed. This excess pressure makes also the globe to expand in that area so much that it is noticeable afterwards.
I would have to disagree imo,the way alex ross draws is just so realistic that he brings comic book characters to real life, of course using models as refs, but believe it or not jack uses reference as well,as a matter of fact every artist does no matter what type.Sure ross uses heavy refs but its how he tells the story through his art which makes it remarkable.I find jacks and neals uses a reg line art to show their detail which makes it boring, give me ross and lee bermejo anyday.
Jack and Neal have more dinamism and imagination, everybody uses models, the important thing is that nobody can note that they use them. And with Alex Ross you can see it in every picture. Alex is great... but Kirby created everything related with drawing superheroes comics, he was really imaginative and realistic, and Neal Adams too, but Ross wouldnt draw something like the fourth world with his own imagination.
Ross has drawn things in a normal comic book style with just line art, if you pick up a copy of Mythology you can see that art and much more of it. The reason why he goes into detail is not because he has no imagination it is because he wants to bring a sense of realism to the characters so that the viewer can identify with it realistically. Ross has loads of imagination, just please check out his storyboard art before you disagree.
I have bought everything that I could about Alex Ross, every sketch book, even his Terminator issues and I have studied art two years, so I can assure that Jack Kirby is better, the things he created could never be matched. Ross is awesome, but just because he is a usual painter doing comic.
From Argentina: What a drawer! Does the word "drawer" exist? I hope so. I loved his work all my life and here are several good drawers that admire Neal.
You're a nice guy Neal. Thanx, your hospitality is inspiring. And great drawing! So THAT'S how you do it!! Ha! now I shall imitate your technique; beware my kung fu! =)
when you see people like this, that in a bit more than a minute and a half (102 seconds) create life in a blank piece of paper, you simply _have to_ be amazed, that is talent (of course, they might also have trained their techniques, but without talent...)
Thanks for posting! Mr. Adams is so incredible, rips that sketch out in a couple minutes and it looks amazing!

Saying Alex Ross is better than Jack Kirby is moronic.
No.
It's sub-moronic.

New model of an atom
The atomcores expand three-dimentionally, opening up energywaves that have the nature of electron and photon.
The mountains
Neal Adams has developed "Theory of Expanding Planets"-model about how the planets expand three-dimentionally.
