Whoo, a potentially good spiritual sequel to SS2. Too bad this looks like it's suffering from Bioshock syndrome - a game that's supposed to do what SS2 did and better, but ends up being just another shooter.

What worries me is that all the scares seem to involve a monster jumping out at you rather than acting upon the player on a more psychological level.

but i think space games need a touch of gritty and realistic settings and survival ideas.

the evil space monsters/demons/Cylons (lol) are okay, but what about no sound in space or at least muted.

Like shows firefly and battlestar galactica.

and having to replenish oxygen and etc at each save point- or something.

Well, if you watch some of the other trailers, you'll find that there is indeed no sound but the sound of your breathing when in a vacuum. Enemies constantly hunt you down, and there is no wussy rebounding health meter. This game WILL make you feel like you're desperately trying to survive.

This game does kind of remind me of Event Horizon. That was a messed up movie with a psychological terror effect of loneliness in space sort of deal going on. man, there is no supernatural in this game, there are aliens, called necromorphs, that killed and later possessed the bodies of the crew. plus you are not fighing fire with water, like in Resident Evil, you will try to take the fire out with wood.

Allow me to predict the future here. This game is going to be fantastic, and its going to open up a trilogy for the series. Plus, it will establish EA as a company that values Intellectual Properties (IP's), instead of mediocre licensed games that they usually publish. Also, Deadspace will be a direct competitor to Capcom's Resident Evil 5 fall release. It will not compete against titles like Gears of War 2 because it doesn't focus on CO-OP play. The future has been revealed.
