En la prepa entrenaba box y por estar distraido paso de noche en un lugar solo y obscuro, dos tipos se acercan rapido uno me pide la hora, yo volteo para ver mi reloj cuando derrepente siento un golpe en mi pomulo y solo giro mi cuerpo. El tipo supuso que me iba a tumbar pero alcanze a mover la cara por puro reflejo. El otro tipo saca una navaja, sabiendo que podia defenderme, salgo corriendo. En una situacion asi la desicion es atacar o huir, y ante la desventaja sera mejor siempre huir.

Ya basta de tecnicas que transmiten esta falsa de seguridad de que “es posible dominar algo tan violento como un cuchillo con un grado minimo de violencia”... es un recursos que usan los charlatanes para parecer grandes maestros cuando no lo son en realidad
Totalmente irreal y ficticio, ningún agresor ataca de esa forma sepa o no sepa usar el cuchillo y mucho menos se queda quieto esperando una reacción del que defiende. ¿Que mamadas son estas?

The old person is a fake fighter. I watched the whole movie. This clip is taken from the movie of The World of Karate. It is Wado Ryu style of karate and there is a son and his father in this clip. It is evidently that the son allows to throw him down without any serious resistance. In a real fight the old man would be owned like a little boy. Even there a strong young man was instead of the old man, even then these fakes techniques wouldn't work against a knife attack.
Lo cierto es que alguien con un cuchillo o navaja no ataca de una manera tan clara y controlada. La lucha con navaja es rapidísima y es muy pero que muy difícil conseguir agarrar la mano del navajero o esquivar tan limpiamente. En mi opinión esas técnicas sólo podrían ser útiles contra alguien tan fuera de sí que lanzase ataques muy exagerados (y en ese caso serían excelentes).
Me gustaría ver el sistema táctico policial que comentas para ver si se asemeja más a la realidad.

Hironori othsuka sensei, es el fundador del wado-ryu uno de los estilos mas difundidos mundialmente, famoso x ser de los mejores maestros de ju-jutsu q hayan habiado, famoso exactamente x sus tecnicas de tanto dori (kuchillo) es decir loq ves, tuvo q emplearlas repetidas veces en su juventud en repetidas peleas kallejeras de las q hoy c cuentan muchas
Por favor, más respeto a uno de los mas Grandes Maestros del Budo Mundial, Hironori Othsuka, con su hijo Jiro en este video. Ojala yo a esta edad conserve el control que el Maestro demuestra aqui, pues no habría delincientes que intimidar. Uss Sensei.
until seeing a video clip of certain masters who are very famous, we have a great respect on them.. But, after watching videos of some of them, that respect reduces tremendously

I suggest training with chosei motobu for yourself to see what an aging master can do, I learned naihanchi from him and had the priviledge to see an 83 year old man out perform in sparring and kata everyone I have ever seen. Ohtsuka gives off the same aura, has great fluidity, im sure he could do just as well. Remember, this is karate, and we are all humans.... what do you expect?? Godlike powers? lol

This isn`t the place for this kind of verbal sparring. Tanto dori is a form that teaches the student more awareness of their distance and should not be regarded as a how to for street defense. Rather appreciate the beauty of the form and the grandmaster`s timing and then remember that there is no first attack, either physically or more importantly mentally. If you forget that it doesn`t matter how long you`ve been teaching or training because you haven`t learned anything.

Classical Self defense strategy for knife defense beautifully executed. Practicality of these techniques is another story. Everyone knows that a person will extend the knife hand and hold it out there in a static position for disarm right!!! The science of knife fighting shows these techniques to be innefective and quite possibly instill a false sense of security in a student that would get them killed!!!!
The objective of this moves is to show the movements and technique in a way as clear and visible as possible for the student to learn them, not to ilustrate a real practical situation.
