  • I'm selling a nintendo 64 + 20 fully working games for $250 pm me for info

  • @TROLLFACE868 Dude..... Anyone who knows anything about N64's and games isn't gonna pay for that unless all the games are Ocarina of Time's all gold carts...

  • Short and to the point. Thanks for posting m8!

  • Or take some rubbing alcohol and scrub it good.

  • This video is fake! everone knows that you have to blow in the cartridge! XD

  • whats that game called??

  • My brother has been in Cambodia doing missions for seven months now. He is coming home in two days and I wanted him to be here when I finally (for the first time in my life) finished the Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. I was trying to get the game to work over and over again and couldn't get it to work, so I googled how to clean the cartridge and it led me here. Now my brother and I can experience the good old days! Thank you so much!!!

  • lol i didn't know jjgames had a youtube channel, if i did i would have been subscribed to you guys along time ago :)

  • keep in mind that n64 labels are notoriously fragile. For example, you just ruined the label when you haphazardly sprayed down the sticker for removal; the right edge of the label is clearly damaged in the shot right after.

  • alcohol works well to remove sharpie markings and will break up the glue used in stickers; just don't get any on the game's cover sticker!

  • Just put your lips together and blow

  • Thank you, this helped so much!

  • Nvm

  • Wat do i do it didnt work when i used Super Mario 64

  • This helped with Super Smash Bros.

  • Doesnt work that well and I HAVE TO PLAY legend of Zelda ocarina of time, it won't work

  • How does tihis video help me if my TV doesnt respond to the N64

  • Thanks for this, recently found my old system and LoZ:OoT and this helped make it work in no time at all.

  • Thanks for the video. Now I can Play Mario Kart 64 again

  • cool!

  • i bought a used n64 at a old video game store (and in pretty good condition for being used) and i also bought a used ocarina of time... and there were some pieces of plastic in the cartridge... so i took a sewing needle and i gently scraped out the plastic.... and it works great,

  • "Goo Gone" works much better than glass cleaner/alcohol for removing stickers. Not to mention the residue.

  • @AugustMoonbow Just don't leave it on too long or it will literally melt the plastic. Alcohol all the way!

  • All I did was get a knife and pull the sticker off because it was down with super glue and cleaned off the excess glue with polish because it's 14 years old so it wasn't as trong.

  • cut you fucking fingernails dude ! and yeah i know its from 08 but CUT THEM !

  • get in FOCUS MANNNNNN

  • I did this on my nba jam 2000 but i didn't have any alcohol the game doesn't work still PLEASE HELP

  • @KajinKnight26 You forget alcohol = NO GAME FOR U

  • @supershadow64ds I wasn't talking to you.. = STFU :D

  • umm... i got a DK 64 game with me and i just did the q-tip trick like 3 times and correctly, but its still wont start up. suggestions?

  • @KatnipHumour

Donkey Kong 64 requires the Expansion Pak. If you haven't played the game before on your system, and you don't have an Expansion Pak, that might be why.

If you do, then it's possible the game is damaged.

  • The Magic Eraser will remove some plastic from the cartridge, I don't recommend using it, Alchohol will remove both sticker and marks with a little bit of elbow grease.

It's funny. the manuals always warn you never to use alcohol, but when you buy the cleaning kits, it usually came with alcohol.

And Nintendo itself would recommend cleaning the contacts with alcohol, if you contacted them about a dirty game not working anymore.

  • @Draknfyre I think that was just Nintendo covering their butts so people didn't use too much alcohol or something like that. Nintendo's own brand name cleaning kit from the SNES used alcohol too.

  • @jjgames

Oh, I know. I cleaned more cartridges with Q-tips and alcohol than most video game players.

Hell, the Nintendo 64 didn't even HAVE an official cleaning kit for years because Nintendo said the cartridges were "self-cleaning" due to the pins. User demand finally made them make one.

I have seen some really nasty, dirty game carts, with stickers, marker ink, dirt, and almost black pins. Makes me wonder why the hell they didn't take care of them.

  • @Draknfyre the most commonly available isopropyl rubbing alcohol is a 70% mixture. There is also a 91% version that evaporates a lot quicker. Love those Magic Erasers, I use them all the time to remove magic marker from all sorts of stuff.

Another tip for removing stickers is use a hair dryer. Set it on low heat and within a few seconds the adhesive will release allowing you to easily remove the sticker. Its a lot more controllable--IMO-- than using liquids.

  • @GeorgiaJunkman

90% alcohol will remove paint and other things. If you aren't careful, it will actually damage the cartridge if you rub too hard. I wouldn't use 90% unless you were trying to use a Q-tip to remove a particularly hard marker mark. It's just too strong to use all over the cartridge unless the whole cartridge was filthy.

  • someone please help!! I have a ram expander 4mb memory expansion thing says yobo for n64 can i use that to play like majoras mask? or like games needed expansion pack? I will subscibe for answer. Someone PLEASSE help me out.

  • @RunescapeRuShClan

Did you try popping it in and finding out?

The answer is yes. Unless it's defective, it will work. Open the cover on the system, use a quarter or another coin, place it on the back of the Jumper pack (the placeholder that's in the system), place the edge of the coin in the grove, rest the coin on the system and slowly push down, removing the Jumper pack. Pop the Expansion Pack in, press firmly down to make sure it's seated, put the cover back on.

    No subscription necessary.

  • @Draknfyre /watch?v=AP5OHyG3UcQ please

  • What do you do if this method doesn't work?

  • Thank you so much! You saved 9 of my old games. I couldn't believe how dirty the Q-tips were after I rubbed the connectors with rubbing alcohol.

  • What can I use other than rubbing achole

  • Thank you..... (tears of joy fell from my eyes as the screen flickered black and the nintendo logo popped up on my screen)

  • okay i need help. i was play zelda:OoT today because i haven't played it in a while, so I would get a little bit into the game and boom. it just fucking freezes. it shows a little orange-ish bar in the corner too. I've blowed in it a lot. i don't if it was the game or the n64 ( i bought a new one at a pawn shop cuz i sold my original one)

  • @wellstone1990 blowing will damage it more. Spit accumilates and erodes the connectors. Just try to do lots of different methods untill one works that's how i fix all of my games. And as a bonus if you have scratched disks use mayonase. It fills the scratches and then you buff of the disk then it should work better. :) I like fixing stuff!

  • i love killer instinct but that version sucked balls nintendo censored it!

  • @mkfan1997

Censored it? What the hell are you talking about?

They didn't censor the SNES version. They certainly didn't censor the Nintendo 64 version.

  • @Draknfyre what are you talking about there's no blood on the 64 version

  • @mkfan1997

You are talking about MORTAL KOMBAT. This is not Mortal Kombat. This is Killer Instinct.

And yes, there was blood in Mortal Kombat for the Nintendo 64. There wasn't any in the SNES version.

  • @Draknfyre no i'm talkin about killer instinct mk1 wasn't on nintendo 64 wtf get your facts straight killer instinct gold was cencored there is no bllod!

  • @mkfan1997

And you are full of crap. Killer Instinct Gold had blood. There was an OPTION, if I remember correctly, to turn it off, but it did have blood.

  • @mkfan1997 There is blood in Killer Instinct Gold.

  • can you replace the battery in n64 cardridge? ocarina of time wont save =o

  • whats the name of that game??? would you reccomend it??

  • Today I found a nes and 4 games. The games were very dirty and I used my methods and the games worked perfectly the second I turned the system on.

  • Lastly I never tell anybody my methods because they really work and never have left any problems for me. If you can open the cart up then dip a q-tip in some brasso. Brasso contains elements that are made for clean certains surfaces and metals, one of which happen to be video game pins/contacts. Use a lint free cloth to wipe the connectors till the black lines of dust are gone. Then finish up by wiping alcohol to remove any leftover brasso.

  • Really bad video. First off you ruined the label with that windex. Although now I know how to get writing off. As for sticker, I just peel them off my my own 2 fingers and afterwards use a bit of rubbing alcohol to get the residue off. I NEVER EVER put any kind of liquid anywhere close to the label. If you notice on your how to clean nes games video, you sprayed bleach on a tetris carrt and afterwards the bottom of the label was lifting. Now a good thing if you have a really rare game. mo

  • thanks i fixed bad fur day

  • CAUTION! The rubbing alcohol does clean the game but it also causes it to freeze so get another q tip and put it over water then do as you did with the q tip of rubbing alcohol. Or just try it without the alcohol. Thanks for the help too jj. You saved all 20 of my games.

  • @Kushy327 Thanks for a heads up. Didn't know that. But why would you use water? Water is what causes corrosion in the first place. I've never had a problem with using alcohol and I've been using it for 10+ years.

  • can I use win-dex instead of alchohol?

  • Holy shit I just fixed Banjo tooie, banjo kazooie, mario kart 64, DK 64, Zelda OOT, Majoras mask all with this video. Thanks a lot bro. Im of the next 4 days and my friends may not see too much of me...

  • i tried the rubbing alcohol thing but it didnt work (i didnt use other things cause it didnt have stickers or writing

  • Thank you soo much... I fixed my mario party 3.. :D

  • Oh yes, also could you guys please make a video regarding dead internal batteries in a N64 cartdrige and how to fix them? It would be so helpful, thanks! :)

  • @TheAmazingMirror Thanks for the suggestion. I will add this to our list of videos to make.

  • @jjgames Thank you for your time, bye!

  • @TheAmazingMirror get a security bit and take apart the game, then remove button battery and replace it with the same size. you can get them at walmart or any battery store

  • @seansweetaurus yeah isn't there some special lock on metal tab to secure the battery? I'm not really sure what the inside looks like, but that's what i've heard

  • Oh my gosh you guys have a Yotube account!? I love you guys!! I always order old Gameboy games from you guys!! You never fail me...!!! Oh sorry, yeah great video! Helpful!

  • The game is right in front of the camera, and I can't read the title. What the hell?

  • @bonestorm99 It helped though. I got Resident Evil 2 for N64 for free with DK64 and Banjo Kazooie. The previous owner had lines of silver marker on the label. DK64 had green shit on the bottom. Banjo Kazzoie only had sticker residue. Now DK64 works and the label to RE2 is clean.

  • @ShinChan56798 I believe that, I just want to see what game that was.

  • i bought a bunch of N64 games but they dont play, none of them!, so cleaning the connectors are the solution? and let the alcohol dry?

  • Hey if you wanna learn how to play n64 games on your pc watch

    watch?v=u-UcAIfJ5dI

  • Thank god ur not one of those idiot that ruins a non working game when it doesnt work anymore.

  • psh just blow in it

  • @iamg00d blowing in it causes spit to accumulate on the copper pins causing erosion and deteriation, not a good idea

  • omfg the sticker price is below current value. @ my local retro game stores killer instinct gold goes for over 40 bucks. i got lucky in 2006 at a pawn shop, some guy was pissed with the offer they gave him for his 64 games and i over heard and saw K.I. Gold in his lot and offered him 5 bucks for it as opposed to a buck the shitty pawn shop wanted to give him....i always clean my catridges like this too

  • Dude i love u seriously. I have have had a copy of supersmash bros that didn't work, i did the alcohol thing and it works now. I love u dude, thanks so much.

  • do you have to remove the rubbing alcohol from the connectors after you rub it on them

  • @y8ntuon Yes, you should remove the rubbing alcohol with the dry end of the q-tip.

  • @xiImperviouS flamer

  • I tried the rubbing alcohol on my an n64 game I bought from ebay. I blew on the connectors, which usually works for me, but the game still just blacked out when the power when on. After a cotton swab and a dab of the alcohol it worked perfectly!

  • attention: do not fucking use rubbing alcohol, use water, rubbing alchol is abrasive it will damage your game, water is safer

  • Hey, show us how to disassemble it, troubleshoot circuitry, and reassemble it! That would be awesome

  • Ok, well I tried the Q-Tip bit for my Mario Party 3, but it still won't work! I don't know what the problem is, one day it just stopped working... Could someone please help me with that? I don't want to throw it away, it's one of my favorite games!!

  • @BurningTireCP You could use brasso if you haven't tried it yet, apply a generous amount over the contacts and let it sit for about 5 minutes then go back over the contacts and clean off the remaining brasso. I used the same method on an NES Game with success.

  • killer instincT GOLD :DDD

  • does this work for 1989 gameboy games???

  • Don't listen to him, use First Aid Alcohol!

  • I used to have that game. Very good.

  • I was just about to throw away Ocarina Of Time before cleaning the connectors, thanks buddy.

  • you fucked the label on the right side lol

  • I NEED HELP, my Super Mario 64 game stoped working. I put it in my nintendo one day and it didnt play when i turned it on

  • your lucky i read comments i didnt want my conkers bad fur day dameged i was gonna sell it

  • This is how to ruin your game by a moron LOL. First of all dude you ruined the sticker on the game with the initial spray of glass cleaner. Nobody will be listening to you now.

  • you son of a bitch. you killed my conker's bad fur day... (crying) DAMN YOU TO HELL!

  • whats that game called please tell

  • @TheNintendoCollecter killer instint 64 or gold

  • Stooookkkkeddddd fixed my paper mario

  • thank you it helped

  • IS there a sub for the rubbing alcohol? LIke Hydrogen Peroxide, or nail polish remover?

  • @IbanezShredderMan Windex or Window Cleaning is a decent substitute if you don't have rubbing alcohol.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH, ME AND MY SISTER HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIX THIS FOREVER!!

  • thx so much IT WORKS FINE NOW YOUR SO SIIIIIIIIICK !

  • I got 4 games. 3 of them work and paper Mario is the only one that dosent work. I blew in it. I cleaned it with iso propenal alcohol with q tip. But my screen is black and nothing happens. It kinda wables in the system a bit.. Can someone please help me and tell me how to make it work?? Thanks

  • @TheDarkReignX Man i have the same problem with my Donkey Kong 64 cartridge, and rubbing alcohol doesn't seem to work for it :(

  • @shadowing00 ya idk how to fix it. goto my channel to see what mine does..

  • Thank you very much. I got an old used copy of Goldeneye wouldn't play on my N64 though just kept giving me a weird green screen it was so frustrating. But I did as you did and it works perfect every time now again thank you very much :)

  • wow all i did was blow in the cartridge and if that didn't work blow in the console too :/

  • Let's start by spraying gentley. *Sprays all over the cart*

  • its quake

  • Just blow in it and everything will be alright :)

  • Thanks, it worked perfectly!

  • nice

  • what game was that?

  • Rubbing alcohol will not clean the connectors. It's better to take the cartridge apart and clean with brasso, then alcohol and water mixture. Make sure it's dry before trying to play or you will fry the game.

  • whats a nintendo 64

  • @alexcerna12 been around a long time..

  • @alexcerna12 what the fuck u r a rere its one of the best systems in the world

  • @link25592 coming fromt he person who can not spell hmm . you are the epic fail!

  • This looks so confusing, its like trying to make drugs :L

  • OMG I hate these games stores that put these fucking stickers on the games.

I bought some really Retro Intellivision games and wreck one of the packagings just taking the price tag off, Im going to tell them one of these days!!!

  • You cleaned that game like a noob and screwed it all up!!!!

  • did you use the nintendo lense leaning fluid on the q-tip?

  • Thanks so much man! My boyfriend gave me a copy of StarFox64 that he had found in his coat pocket, of all places. I tried it to see if it worked and all it did was give me a green screen. I cleaned it up after watching this and now it's working perfectly!!

  • Thanks so much man! My boyfriend gave me a copy of StarFox64 that he had found in his coat pocket, of all places. I tried it to see if it worked and all it did was give me a green screen. I cleaned it up after watching this and now it's working perfectly!!

  • mastro lindooooo

  • What did you put on the q-tip?

  • Rubinoff Vodka works also

  • i bought a n64 at a swap meet the other day after frantically searching every other possible seller only to find to my dismay that it doesnt work :'(

The red light turns on and everything except that nothing shows up on the screen

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • @nalgaface123456789 Do u have a jumper or expansion pack in?

  • i have an expansion pack but its all good now! :)

All i did was clean the games thoroughly and blow in the system and it works flawlessly now :)

    thanks anyways :)

  • hmmm, I've known that rubbing alcohol is an abrasive and can damage the gold-plated leads. I've used water and that seems to work fine...the old NES console cleaners actually suggest just using water as well.

  • You ruined some of the label with spraying that glass cleaner.

  • @snake2006 LOL! I was just about to type that! Perhaps using the "STREAM" setting on the nozzle is preferable to "SPRAY". =)

  • @earlyriser03

He should have sprayed it on a paper towel then wipe.

  • @snake2006 Or use a cotton ball.

  • what was that game!!!!! i saw before whats it called

  • @AlexBeckproductions I think it's killer instinct

  • Does this actually work? plz tell the truth... my n64 game conker's bfd isn't working

  • @jaws8mee lol he would have no reason to lie.. yes, this does actually work... unless you need to take apart your game to repair it. But most games have the problem with the connector, not motherboard and other internal parts.

  • @marmar3291 lol yeah i thought that he was lying.....ty for the info.... might go do it right now...

  • @jaws8mee do it up! It's amazing how effective it is. Yesterday I actually helped my girlfriend's younger brother with a super nintendo game.. "Double Dragon". The game didn't work at all... and if you some how got it to turn on by blowing on it and trying it a million times, it would freeze within a minute of playing. All I did was use a Q-tip and "Glass-Plus" cleaner for a minute or so... both sides of the Q-tip were FULL of gray/black. It worked the first try, and it didn't freeze. WOO!

  • @marmar3291 lol....nice..... It worked! :D But after an hour my nintendo 64 died. :( RIP.

  • Nice tutorial, but funny how none of my N64 games have NEVER been damaged or broken or never even work properly.

  • You damaged the label. Notice the right side is now ruffled or chipped looking , after being drenched in the window cleaner. I would never recommend putting any kind of cleaner on an N64 label.

  • i didnt know i had to clean my 64 games, all i did was blow the bottom when it didnt turn on XD

  • Go to the hardware store and buy acetone. It's strong and will remove any kind of sticker or marking.

  • does gamestop still sell n64 games???

oh and also, to make my games work, i just do the classic "blow-on-the-bottom-until-the-tv-lights-up-again" method :)

  • @SheepWolf76 Gamestop doesn't sell n64 consoles or games anymore.

  • @SheepWolf76 Corperate Policy has forced all GameStops to stop buying and selling N64 games. Right now, only Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2 games are still purchasable. You might get better prices from local stores though like Indy Record shops or indepented stores that cater to hard to find media.

  • Dude i have that game! im good with saberwolf or whatever lol

  • what game is that??? i think itz mortal kombat but no to sure!?!

  • Thanks this video helped me out! I didnt have rubbing alcohol but i had mouthwash hahahaha, it worked like a charm and my game is smellin' fresh!

  • @MrDregoDREGO Same situation for me, I had no rubbing alcohol so I used Glass Cleaner, worked for me too. XD

  • did you get that game at gamestop

  • will it remove the actual game sticker?

  • I just took a knife to the pre played sticker, and i had another half a stick on the other side that i had to use a wet tissue, and of course, a knife...its still such a sexy sexy knife

  • OxiClean FtW!

  • i havn't plaed my snes in years so i might try this on the games that don't work and get more games from the only place they sell snes games: gametraders

  • I didn't try it. I DONE IT 13!tch

  • JJgames! i love that place

  • thank you, just fixed Diddy Kong Racing, my son is sooo happy!

  • That is one beautiful game, when I lean't out my PlayStation 2 controller to my older brothers friend I had some tape on it and removed it. I never knew to this day how he removed the sticker residue from the controller.

  • oh also a good tip... never force your game into the 64. if its not loading you have a bad game to 64 connection, try placing it a little differently. Perhaps diagonaly.

  • you dont need all that shit.just blow on your game(not sexualy) and shove it in your n64. repeat untill it works. if not then blow into your n64 game & and cartridge(again not sexualy). and there you go a game to pay if off

  • @MdMedia21 umm dude it says on the back of the game clear as day DO NOT BLOW ON CONNECTER
