  • I traded my colt .38 revolver plus 3 bills from his side for a c9 just like this one. Its very damn heavy wich is no problem for me cuz i like the way heavy guns feel. Its a bad ass durable little 9mm. Great gun for the price.

  • fuck that cheap as gun get a glock or ruger or hk or sig sauer or smith and wesson or fnh that gun sucks balls i had that when i was 13 and it jammed like hell now im legal and only buy nice shit might be expensive but when ma life is on the line i wont use a high point

  • @bluballz2020

Glocks have such wide tolerances they've been known to cause kabooms...and much like Remington have covered up the inherent flaws in their system. Sadly all the fan(girl)s of either weapon jump on the bandwagon; often with very little knowledge of why. Sig and HK are both pretty good brands, but often too expensive for those on a low budget.

I'd recommend a .45 or .380 HiPoint to someone in need of cheap home defense...they're plenty reliable compared to a stick or used .25 acp

  • I bought this gun 3 days ago and it is very heavy but for the price its a very good gun. Hasn't jammes up "yet" but I like it.

  • for ppl that get jam's with the C9 . Don't limp wrist, clean and lube the gun, and use 124 gr and better that will help a lot and yes the clip might need to modified a little

  • i own a high point and a glock the high point is good for the money, but it is way too heavy for concealed carry i keep mine in the glove box and carry my glock on me i've never had a misfire with my high point

  • i own a high point and a glock the high point is good for the money, but it is way too heavy for concealed carry i keep mine in the glove box and carry my glock on me,

  • Hi Points are better than GLocks.

  • @SupremeAmerican You must be High!

  • @Thibodeausheating no i am just a realist. deal with it.

  • @SupremeAmerican No, I'm pretty sure your high!

  • @SupremeAmerican No, I'm pretty sure your high!

  • @Thibodeausheating If by high you mean high on the food chain, then yes.

  • I poop guns nicer then this guns

  • @Cartberries yea...? have you actually ever shot one..or even owned one? huuuuuu...or do you just follow every one else and say what every one else says. you probably know nothing bout this gun.

  • I have the high point 9mm and the 45. The 9mm, I have fired over a thousand rounds and never had a jam up. The first clip, you need to oil the gun real well before you fire it. This will help seat the gun in. I have had the 9 for about 10 years without a problem. The 45, I have had for about 6 months and never had any problems...remember lube it up before you fire it the first time.

  • @HiPointMan Congratulations, goes to show that even a broken clock is right 2 times a day. You should not need to adjust a brand new fire arm out of the box. I know that there are ways to make these weapons "more" reliable; however, at the end of the day I would not trust a High Point with my life. If you are looking for a good, reliable fire arm there are several companies that produce them; none of which are High Point.

  • this a mosin nagant(if the action dosent work take it to a gun smith or buy another one $100)and a ammo box $140."but it jams"

fuck it,if shit hits the fan id rather have a gun in my hand than one in my face and a bullet in my ass.

  • @dasdew2 you and me both.

i have been thinking about a mosin nagant

  • @indyspcguy I got $85 saved for a 91/30,i need a rifle with range.Despite what movies and games say a shoygun cant be used as a sniper rifle.

  • Keep them clean and shoot good ammo..you will have less problem's..but that go's for all brands..cheers.

  • Good video man. I just got one today. Do you know where to get a better mag for it.

  • Hell... even I got one, and I own a Sig and S&Ws. Just gona leave it as a "bathroom gun" because I don't wana expose my more expensive guns to the moisture... rather have a much cheaper gun (with powder coating finish) for that... gona rap a towel around it to absorbe most of the moisture.

  • this is a gang bangers ak47 just get a glock.

  • @TheCrazyTman Have you ever owned a Hi-point? Because uh.. you sound like you've never experienced one, which makes your common worthless.

  • @dros420 dude its cheap low quality and fairly worthless you need to shut up. have you seen someone not a gang banger concealing a hi point??

  • @TheCrazyTman I conceal a hi-point... I don't think I'm a gang banger, least I hope not anyway.

Either way, I've owned my hi-point for 2+ years and not a problem so far, pop a round in and it goes bang every time.. Anyway, get back to your YouTube reviews and your bandwagon opinions.

  • everyone has their own choices. don't knock someone else's choice of firearm. one round is enough to take someone down, if the shot is placed right. other guns have equal or worse problems. if you're having issues with someone buying a gun that performs equally for a fifth of the cost, i'm sorry. not everyone makes as much as you, and if you're good with your peice, that's all that matters.

  • heh, that is a hideous gun

  • when i took my ccw shooting test a guy was taking it with a high point 9mm and it jammed twice from each line and the instructer said hey good thing that thing has some weight to it so when it jams you can just throw it at the bad guy.

  • The gun needs to be broken in, DOES it work? These people on here are fucking idiot cocksuckers man, THERE are a lot of people that say they don't jam, what is the truth?

  • @rheinmetall30mm little picky on ammo. Mine ate 115gr umc pretty good.

  • The gun needs to be broken in, DOES it work?

  • i got a high point and other pistols, and the high point is very accurate and does not jam ive put over 3000 rounds through mine,to all you guys talking shit about people buying a high point mind yours you sound like girls talking about purses and anyways what do you care what anyone buys?you guys say you would not trust it with your life well i do just try comming in my house and youll find out if it jams or not.

  • Yes law enforcement carry High Point, Believe me i should know. Very impressive weapon ,made in USA! I will own no other weapon til this Brand fails me ,whiich it has not! thank you High point!

  • What does the way you hold the gun have to do with it jamming?? Even if guns are fresh out of the box they shouldnt jam...hi-points suck its not a myth they really suck. Just remember you get what you pay for.

  • @ericthegreat318 He he :) Noob. You can limp wrist a Glock, a Sig, an H&K and they will all fail to feed. The lighter the frame the more firmly you need to hold them to retain the recoil energy needed to rack the next round. The only gun that wont fail to feed on you is a good old revolver. You are right about High Points being shit though.

  • nice video, please check out my review on the same gun

  • Are you planning on getting a Hogue grip for the gun? I just got one off Ebay for $10, and it feels much better than that slippy plastic.

  • listen to this guy talk he talks up the gun so much and talks about how good the performance is ,then in the same sentence he says how many times it jams ,then says how heavy it is ,how big it is ,how shity it is for concealed weapon purposes,I guess if you look past all the multiple functioning problems,it might shoot what you want ,DONT BET YOUR LIFE ON IT OR YOUR FAMILY'S

  • Great review! High Points are notorious for being used in crime as "throw-aways" but I've known some to be great plinker pistols.

  • what a shitty concealed weapon dam thing weighs like 2lbs. unloaded ,better carry it in a backpack or something along with your back up after that one jams after the first 2 shots lol

  • @bdg909 You must have money so in turn compare $500 guns to $150 guns and yes when I was younger I did play basketball in wal-mart shoes and I was one of the best players. Fact is the Hi Point 9mm is not a bad gun. Be a man and grip the gun because if you dont it will jam.

  • @bigredbrickshithouse You get what you pay for and you know it limp wrist my ass thats the lamest excuse for poor firearm performance ive ever heard

  • garbage amateur gang banger gun

  • hi points are a good gun it is better then my glock ithe high point never jams on me i have shoot 1000 rounds with out one prob

  • Just got this gone for Christmas, and wasn't to sure about it but this review was a big help thanks!

  • Hi Rob - we spoke before - So, how is your Hi Point c9 doing? How many rounds to you have thru it by now? I still want to purchase one but I live in San Francisco, California & they are pretty hard to get here. You're Lucky. Thanks Sincerely, JAMES.

  • All you people talking about shotguns for home defense, thats a great idea. However, have you ever shot a 12ga. in a house.... better hope you hit the first time and that there is only one target. The muzzle flash and sound of the shotgun will leave you disoriented with a ring in you ears and loss of sight. I would use my C9 over my 12ga pump any day for home defense.... My wife would have the shotty in the bedroom backing me up!

  • @cmcginnis09 Have you? If you use 7 1/2 or 8 shot low dram or handicap loads, there is no flash. If you had ever been in a fire fight you would know that you don't hear the shot. And most people can't remember how many rds were fired. If you ever go get some instruction on defensive shooting or compete in IDPA, you'll quickly learn how naked you are with that pot metal pistol. Why do you suppose they are so inexpensive?

  • @DMarksmanLima21 Yea, the reason you don't remember how many rounds you fired is exactly what im talking about, flash or no flash you still loose your orientation thats all im saying. Stand in front of my C9 man I will show you how naked I am then, mine shoots great...

  • @cmcginnis09 I was going to explain why people lose hearing in a fire fight, but you couldn't understand, your too young and much too invincible and fearless. Your a modern day SUPERMAN...good luck growing up kid.

  • your the kind of guy that one doesn't want to find locked into a cell with. your scary, man. other then that, nice review.

  • oh..so hi point uses "clips" instead of magazines thats why...

  • yes the ammo clip is the problem and it is on mine

  • I have narrowed it down to the clip. That is probably the only thing it could be. At least for me that is my conclusion. I replaced my clip today, shot it, it jammed, I bumped the clip, fired the rest as fast as i could pull the trigger. to those of you who are contemplating buying one, go for it. NOBODY else will honor the warranty like they do.

  • Hello again Rob. So, could you please give me an update? How many round do you have thru the c9 by now? Notice any difference? Have you had to do any feed ramp polishing? Just wondering because I am on the list at my gunshop for purchase of this gun - just so I can tinker around & hopefully make it so that is just to my liking. As always Thanks again for any feedback greatly appreciated. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • Got my c9 several months ago and am happy with it. Shoots every time and is accurate. I even like the heavy slide which helps my accuracy. Some have had a problem with the magazine but I didn't have to massage mine. Hope the 10 round mag I'm ordering works as well.

  • sound like some ppl weapons jam cause they dont clean it

  • My brother was all excited today when he bought one today, he brought it to my house and I pointed out to him how the serial number was scratched off. We had to take a trip down to the Niobrara river.

  • i would be to embarrassed to ever buy a high point, it's ugly. it's unreliable, if i was going to only spend 150 on a gun i would buy a used shotgun, i would rather save money for something better

  • i just grabbed one today 159.99 with a nice case. cant wait to shoot it

  • good information. Thanks. I was looking at it not to show off at the local range but just to plink a cheap round (9mm)with a inexpensive gun. I have read that it is not cheap due to its construction but rather its older technology they have perfected and is cheaper to manufacture....??? my 2 cents thanks again

  • i own all kinds of pistols!!! i bought this gun just to have it in my collection. heavy as hell, ugly brick!!! but you pay cheap you will get cheap!! to save my life, i will noooot carry this heavy ugly shit

  • everytime i shoot this gun i love it more and more. Mine had a very short break in period, it has not jammed since the first 50 rounds, and i have put around 350 rounds-ish, and a lot of more expensive guns where they say it takes about 300 rounds to break in. The gun is bulky but for just at the range or for home protection it would be fine, i would not want to lug this around all day for ccw, i wouldnt mind it for a couple hours if im just walking in the woods though. great review!

  • i just got a new c9 there 129.99 in ky

  • You train with what you have. Not with what you wish you had. A 9mm from a High-Point is deadly as a 9mm from any other semi-automatic pistol.

All these people on youtube making fun of High-Point owners calling them ghetto-guns, pos's...etc, all these, need to get a life. If all you can afford is a High-Point, then buy a High-Point. Do your research on the gun and buy it.

Not everyone can afford $500 for a Glock or XD or the like. You train with what you have and you'll be ok.

  • @MNU1978 Assuming it doesn't jam. I just commented on a video of a guy with a high point and he said he had to get it fixed 3 times and it still jammed. You don't have to spend 500$ for a good semi automatic pistol. They sell Makarov's for 229.95 on centerfiresystems. A very reliable and proven pistol. If all you can afford is a high point, BUY a better pistol for the same price.

  • It has to be the UGLIEST gun ever made. So it's a gun of questionable quality and terrible looks, Other than the price(and they couldn't charge much) I don't see the attraction. I guess it's better than nothing.......... I guess

  • this is perfect home defense, short of shotgun. You shoot an intruder and the cops come and take your gun, good luck getting your 500 dollar s&w, glock, or whatever back. If you dont get your hipoint back your out 150, sounds better to me. Good guns just get a bad rap for being so low priced. SNOBS!!!

  • @offroadram95 ...I'm a snob too, but I have to admit, you have made the best case in favor of Hi-Point that I have seen on the internet thus far. I hadn't thought about the cost factor in the event of a shooting. I guess that goes to show that you CAN learn something from a YouTube forum. Have you heard about anyone around your area that KaBoomed with a Hi-Point?

  • @LibertariansAreLiars I have heard bad stories about hi points, yes. BUT, that story usually involves the phrases "a freind of mine had one, I saw a guy at the range, or I heard". Most of the people that beat up on hi points have never even owned one, much less shot one themselves. Most of the people that do give them a chance say they are well worth the money. I myself do own one and have never had an issue. My C-9 has even been more reliable than my buddies glock, for what thats worth!!!

  • i own one of these and im very happy with its performance and found if i leave the clip one shy of full it will never jam at least mine doesnt i love my high point and good review brother

  • I just got the 40 cal version today. I noticed it doesn't have a trigger safety like I've seen on other pistols.

I am a total noob when it comes to guns so after "cocking" this gun with a bullet in the chamber, what prevents it from accidentally firing if you accidentally mess with the trigger? I know it has a slide lock thing but what does that do even?

  • even if its loaded with the magazine in it you cant shoot the piece of shit kuz 9 times outta 10 its jammed

  • @bdg909

Try running away from one while I shoot it at you! I promise you it will kill your ass!

  • @syjstr hahaha

  • @syjstr

A 9mm will in fact kill you...but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. After a couple thousand rounds (I AM BEING NICE) tell me how often it jams, FTE, and double feeds. I fired a .40 High Point and it jammed 2 times in one Mag. At the end of the day though, if you like your gun who cares.

  • @bdg909 Then you bought the wrong ammo...probally used that junk ass wolf ammo.

  • @bdg909 ive put over a 1000 rds through this same weapon without cleaning it without a single jam.

  • @bdg909 Awww! Dont be mean. Did you have a bad experience little guy? Mine works fine.

  • @bigredbrickshithouse ill bet yours does work fine , you probly never shoot the dam thing ,like the old saying goes ya get wgut you pay for your probly the kind of guy who plays basketball in walmart shoes to because they work fine ,fucking lame

  • @bdg909 Wow do you know me because I did in deed wear walmart shoes to play basketball and I was one of the best players on the team.Anyway to the topic at hand sir dont anger me show some respect and be a grown up the Hi point 9mm will jam everytime if you are being a child and holding it limp wrist.

  • @bigredbrickshithouse just make sure you use your life time warranty on that POS ,your gonna need it lol

  • @syjstr

Great vid! This is my 1st handgun, it was perchased for home protection, and i love it. Like you said, it feels like a tank in your hand, and the recoil is easily handleable. And only 14$ for 50 rounds. I was wondering though, if you could do a quick video on a quick/basic cleaning. This is my 1st gun i want to make sure i can do a quick cleaning after each use.

  • Good review. I just tried mine yesterday and love the feel of it. I shot about 60 rounds threw it and it never jammed on me but I was using brass jackets like the dealer told me to. Definitely not a good carry concealed handgun but you can't beat the price.

  • My Hi-Point C9 has never jammed, not even out-of-the-box. The magazine is what causes feeding problems, so I tried to fix the mag before I even stuck it in the gun for the first time. What I did was: I took a large flathead screwdriver and used it to push down the feeding ramp til' it reached the bottom of the mag, a bit past where the 8th round would sit if the mag were fully loaded. This method seemed to tame the spring and help the feeding ramp slide better along the walls of the mag.

  • i just got me a Hi-Point .45 ACP Polymer.....what do you lubricate it with

  • @leodjoneluv Lubricate with CLP

  • @syjstr thanks man, what type of bullets do you recommend. ball point?

  • @leodjoneluv

Any type of Brass jacketed bullets works well for me. Do not use steal jacketed bullets they are not as superior as brass and tend to jam. Ball point or hollow points seem to work great.

  • @leodjoneluv yes ball point from bic are my personal favorites

  • @leodjoneluv rounds....bullets are the actual projectile.

  • Thanks I was gonna go get this gun today so was my dad, brother and wife but now I think we will hold off

  • LOL if a gun jams right out of the box its junk and not reliable.

  • Also, a lot of the complaints I have read aside from the gun snobs "its cheap" bullshit is that they dont load well when chambering and this comes from people trying to gently walk the round in with the slide rather than pulling it back and letting it slam in as in field conditions. In other words its a handlers malfunction and not a malfunction of the gun.

  • I have the C9, the .45 ACP, and the 9mm carbine. I am very happy with them all although the .45 does tend to jam a bit but no more than a lot of other more expensive .45's. I was actually impressed with the accuracy in the C9 for a compact pistol. Also I found just today on the highpoint firearms website that they now make new stocks for the carbines that look a lot more tactical although I am not sure these are the guns would would want for a tactical situation.

  • strictly speaking service wise, they are great weapons. you pull the trigger and tehy go "bang". Price wise, again they get good points. Design wise, one mans ugly gun is another mans ugly gun that looks kinda cool...lol...i'm not a fan just by looking at them, but they do function, i have one in my Ford Expedition, and thats where it stays,

  • the 45 is a good fun range gun, all others are garbage, sorry to hear you will have trust your life to it. you will get tired of carrying that brick on your hip in a week, my G 26, i dont even feel it, and my LCP is a featherweight life saver. goo luck to you, hope you never have to use it in self defense

  • I've got this gun, and I am an avid shooter and sportsman. I think it is pretty funny reading all the comments bashing this gun. I have never had my High Point jam up on me. Not once. It is a pleasure to shoot and carry while hunting, fishing, or whatever. I paid $95 - Brand new for my High Point, and couldn't be happier. I can guarantee it will put a round down range, or in an intruder just as quickly as any of you guys packing guns costing $600-$800 or more.

  • very nice...can I legally buy one of those in a gun show at age 18 for home defense in Florida??

  • thanks for the review bro

  • Hi point haters that say its unreliable try getting shot by a c9.

  • one you dont carry a hi-point they are to heavy 29oz and to bulky...hard to conceal. they are good for home defense or just out at the range..yea you may have to make some changes...but that is with all guns

  • @D3athKiller13 the very meaning of the word ghetto gun

  • Hey gamerguy if you need a gun for home defense buy a shotgun. If you want to buy a pistol safe your money and get a reliable gun. Have you ever seen a cop packing a high piont? all theese guys leaving good reviews, own a high piont and are proud of their crappy gun. the truth is it is one of the most un reliable guns out there.

  • @theresa52 A lot of cops carry Hi-Point pistols as their backup!

  • @syjstr Don't you mean..."a throw down weapon"?

  • @syjstr

There is NO way any LEO would carry a hi point as a back up. They are way to unreliable.

I quote from a volusia county sheriff I know " I would get fired if I carried one of those"

  • @syjstr ur talking out ur ass no cop any were carries a high point for anything its not even in there choose of standerd issuie so it isnt even posaible for them to be able to carry them most cops dont even carrie a back up gun just there one full size handgun they have a shotgun or a ar15 in there trunk or up front in a gun rake between the seats and even that depeneds on there job and rank sometimes u see a swat or a speciles teams cop carrie a small revaler but never a high point ur a dumbsss

  • @syjstr i challenge you to find one cop that carries a hi-point for backup. and if you do, please, please post what he/she carries for primary.

  • @jls172008

IMO anybody who carries a HiPoint isn't very bright in terms of conceal carry unless it's the only thing they can afford. I don't say this because HiPoint .380's or .45 ACP's aren't reliable enough to do what most anybody would need it for...I say it because they're extremely wide, heavy, and will print if you're wearing anything thinner than a bubblecoat.

  • @IcabodCrane

They won't print if you know how to conceal them properly. I have a video on my channel of myself concealing a Hi Point 9mm with nothing more than a t shirt.....and I only weigh 125 pounds. People who can't conceal them aren't trying very hard. If i can, I think almost anyone can.

  • @syjstr bahahahahahahaha bahahahahahahahhahaha oh my stomach. too much laughing.

  • @syjstr no cop carrys a hogh point . u dont know what your talking about.

  • @theresa52 It must really bother you that there are people here that love Hi-Point pistols. LOL...You need to get a life.

  • @theresa52 ive never had my highpoint 45 jam with over 2000 rounds through it. its a god awefull heavy unbalanced gun though ,thats my guess is why most people wont use it as a service gun. I think this gun is great for a range gun though. home defence though... id go straight for my shotgun. not sure if i happened to get a good one or what but im very happy with it! But... id rather use my browning high power over it.

  • @theresa52 I have a few different guns. My Hi Point is totally reliable and has never jammed. PD uses other weapons due to city contractual agreements with weapons distributors. Also the amount of rounds they shoot through them. Hi Point has a 5 star rating with the BBB and stands behind every product they sell. Not everyone has 800 dollars for a gun. Have you ever even used one? Do you own one?

  • @theresa52 Cops carry guns for a living.

    it's their job.

Do people really have to spend $400-600 on a weapon with all luck and likelihood they will never even have to shoot in anger? Get some perspective, you know you've got your priorities wrong if the gun used to defend your house is the single most valuable item in there (relative to size).

  • @theresa52 your very wrong.

  • has anyone ever heard you get what you pay for? there is a reason why that is a 160 dollar gun. no one who knows anything about guns would carry that thing.

  • I have one too and it jammed also, until I left the clips loaded for a while to weaken the springs then never had a jam since.

  • omg was that a cat at 1:13 or a large dog? lol huge cat.

  • I have a C-9 I am totally happy with. One FTF in the first clip.......300 rounds later...nothing....I put the ghost sight on and I have NEVER been more accurate with a weapon! What a value!

  • Happy birthday Rob. You got yourself a very nice birthday present. I wish I could get one myself but I have far too many handguns to justify that. The reason I would get it is because I'm a tinkerer and I like to do small pistol modifications. On this c9 there are a few mods you should do to make your shooting more enjoyable and fun. Just subed. Be well and safe. Sincerely,d JAMES.

  • Man nobody can bash on the C9 the guns nice and for 165 new that beats alot or other pistols on the market in price and look at most reviews people will say its good gun

  • How much is the ammo for this? I was thinking about getting one of these soon. Also how is it on terms of accuracy?

  • Yes the ammo about 25$ per 50 rounds! That's cheap!

  • @SlaughterTheFrail I just bought a box of cheap fmj for thirteen dollars (in Oregon).

  • @SlaughterTheFrail ehh about right cuz .50's r a dollar a round

  • @compute9 LOL Yeah I fucking wish. One bullet for my 30-06 is around $1.50. .50 is near $5 a round.

  • @compute9 Typo, I meant to say ".50 is near $3-5 a round".

  • @SlaughterTheFrail back when i was a free lance it was 1 damn the world has changed

  • trigger pull is a light single action 4 pound pull and that maybe exagerating a bit.very light and smooth.

  • It all depends on the gun I guess. I've had my high point 9mm for about six months, have put a few hundred rounds through it, and NEVER have I had a jam once. It goes without saying that you get what you pay for, but as far as I'm concerned, the gun still gets the job done.

  • i owed this gun once, its not that heavy, when i carried it on my waist, the clip release hit a part of my pants and the clip fell out i all ways had problems with that clip release button and i dont like holsters

  • I use the paddle hoster and it works great!

  • do yu have to squeeze real hard?

  • Hello i am looking for a gun for home defense and i can olny spend 200 bucks so this seems like a good idea. Is it reliable? Have you had any more jaming issuses? Its my first gun and i do like the looks of it so thanks in advance

  • @gamerguy1991

Perfect for home defense! Grab some good brass hollow points and you will love the effect it gives when hitting flesh. Perfect for the price but it is def heavy so if your weak you will not like this pistol!

  • I am not weak i have held a 1911 colt so it cant be much heavyer than that thanks very much i have askede a few and you gave the best answer i just turned 18 and as soon as i get my money i am going to get one.

  • get a high point, if the gun jams, fuck it just beat him in the head with the butt

  • @gamerguy1991

200 bucks will get you a nice 12 gauge with 00 buckshots, DO NOT waste your money on this please, if you value your, and your family's life.

  • @JackSureshot I got a glock 19 now so i am set

  • @gamerguy1991

congrats, I have had one for over 5 years, NEVER a failure with ANY ammo. Its better to spend a bit more money and not have to worry about breakdowns and repairs, than being cheap in the beginning and paying with your like at the end. Use it in good health

  • @JackSureshot Yep it shot better too take care

  • I can confirm the steel jacketed ammo doesn't run well in this gun, brass works pretty well
