Sounds to me like a very very similar chord progression used by Daft punk in one track with similar chord inversions, and seeing as daft punk take most of their stuff from previous tracks from the 70's and 80's it is quite lightly that it is influenced, if not the same.

Saying that boys noize use this exact progression aswell [and that was before American Boy, not sure about this track though]. I think this is just a common progression, especially the strings.

In overall feel maybe, this sounds like something that may have fit somewhere between Homework and Discovery. I think it's mostly the use of a low-pass filter sweep, which Daft Punk pretty much made famous and unusable for any other band who didn't want to sound like a copycat (but copy they did; pick any Ibiza compilation). It definitely seems to owe a lot to Daft. Long live the Daft!

But still, who'd rather spend time putting a twist to a previous song than to just go and make a new one instead.
