When i listened this song, i thought old Metallica were back. But, suddenly i listened to 'the day that never comes' and i thought that the 'Death Magnetic' is going to be similar to the St.Anger :S

old metallica is old metallica. if they go back to the basics, then it will be current metallica. either way. this song alone is better than the entire st anger album. st anger sounds like a baby taking a shit. terrible sound quality. theres a possibility that the songs may be pretty decent, but its hard to listen to. it sounds like complete shit.

Right now, their 'new' sound is like someone dropped a set of pots and pans down a flight of stairs mixed with a voice thats trying to sing over it. St Anger is a prime example of that. They need to go back to standard E tuning or a 1/2 step down. They also need to slow the tempo a bit. Listen to the Black album, that tmepo is great for heavy sound. This 'new' thrash is just too fast. Makes the tuning sound waaaaay off. Just a musical opinion.....and the singing is atrocious..

they took a faster pussycat riff. the first guitar riff in this song at 1:17 is basically a sped up version of the riff in faster pussycat's song "where theres a whip theres a way". the riff in FP's song is 38 seconds in. its just a different tempo.
I like it . . . at first I thought it was a tad disorganized, but after a few more listens, I think it all fits well, it's just that the bootleg audio doesn't let you hear all the changes correctly. I like the slow, melodic interlude in there too, sounds a bit like a better "Breadfan." The lyrics are much better than anything they've done in a while too. I think it has a bit of all the different "sounds" they've had in the past. A bit of KEA,AJFA, and Load(I liked it).

The sound is awful, it seems like it's being fed through a flanger pedal... The song sounds a lot better than stcraper stuff.

James' voice is bad on this song,, it's weird because on the other songs his voice is better since couple of years. Very good drumming of lars and the solo nice. Rob makes it complete!

they took a faster pussycat riff. the first guitar riff in this song at 1:17 is basically a sped up version of the riff in faster pussycat's song "where theres a whip theres a way". the riff in FP's song is 38 seconds in. its just a different tempo.

I like it . . . at first I thought it was a tad disorganized, but after a few more listens, I think it all fits well, it's just that the bootleg audio doesn't let you hear all the changes correctly. I like the slow, melodic interlude in there too, sounds a bit like a better "Breadfan." The lyrics are much better than anything they've done in a while too. I think it has a bit of all the different "sounds" they've had in the past. A bit of KEA,AJFA, and Load(I liked it).

do not care what the haters say, and all people who love metallica shouldnt either. Do not concern yourself with them, this song kicks ass. Best thing they have done since justice EASILY..
P.S. i loved the black album, load, reload, and thought st. anger was the best thing they have done since justice.
