  • i would love to hear this song in the native language. just to hear what it'd sound like

  • who came because of wassabi productions

  • The movie sucked, even a typical Disney fan will admit that - but the MUSIC, oh man, the sweet music MORE than makes up for the bland story. It's Disney heaven :') This is my favourite piece, so uplifting!

  • This upcoming generation suck ! I watched willy Wonka and real Disney movies and I'm disgusted by the things that pass as entertainment for this generation -___-

  • @heartmulgrew15 To be fair, the original Willy Wonka movie was a far cry from the edgy and dark nature of the book it was based on. In fact, the author of the Willy Wonka books absolutely and utterly HATED it.

  • This was beatiful, masterpeace i love the "Pocahontas" songs so much!!!!

  • I love Miko;) and this song!

  • The next time I see a waterfall I will jump it... It looks fun!

  • @bombcrackers I agree, I have a little brother who thinks that "true Disney" films are camp rock, high school musical, etc.

  • These are "kids films".. WRONG! These films are inspirations they touch people all over the world. You don't notice the emotions in these films these songs these masterpieces created by the GENIUS Walt Disney! you wish you could get people to just understand the beauty behind them!! .. and what a IDIOT would ever change these beautiful classics in to hannah montana!? I feel sorry for the generation that have to get inspired by her and others, copy and paste this on everything.THUMBS UP FOR WALT

  • @bombcrackers Don't forget Howard Ashman! he changed Disney with the little mermaid and beauty and the beast :D

  • @bombcrackers thats why you show them these movies instead

  • @bombcrackers there are much movies that don't made by waltbut he was awesome but this movie is not made by him

  • @bombcrackers Except Walt had zero to do with Pocahontas because he is dead.

  • @bombcrackers so true. disney would weep if he were living.

  • @bombcrackers Alright, I like the songs as much as anyone, but can we not pretend that Walt Disney was a hero? He was an anti-semitic, misogynist asshole who produced some really good songs.

  • @bombcrackers Good one, Walt Disney would think this movie is crap. He was a white supremest. Learn your history.

  • 7 people chose the smoothest course

  • The best part of Pocahantas is knowing that she and John Smith were both real people and that they both actually married

  • @RetardedShit1 best part is that pocahantas was actually 12 and they never got married

  • @twizzler4321

O_O thats not what I heard but yet again I could've been misinformed.

  • @RetardedShit1 Incorrect. John Smith never married Pocahontas. She was 12 when they met each other. However, Pocahontas did marry John Rolfe, from "Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World".

  • @RetardedShit1 and how she was 12 and Johnsmith was in his forties 8D

  • @Pyroblazer She didn't marry John Smith

  • I remember cheering on Simba when he fought Scar. I remember booing at Ursela, when she took Ariels voice. I remember fighting the Huns side by side with Mulan. I remember the wind through my hair, running by Pocahontas. I remember being locked in the Beast's castle. I remember laughing and having fun with Mickey and his friends. I don't remember watching Teen Drama on stupid Disney Channel. Copy and paste this to all you favorite Disney Videos, and let's start a revolution.

  • 7 people are boring and dull

  • @cute251000

    make that 9 people! God what is wrong some people!? (;

  • Gotta love weird love, you meet someone and BOOM ya love 'em. I mean that's almost all princess movies. But true love is beautiful

  • lol pause at 0:10 loool funny :D

  • You know, this song has actually has alot of good advices in it, especially in a choosing a career.

  • Yeah, I'd leave the super hot and respected guy that my dad approves of to go for a guy that I've met for a few days, who comes from somewhere completely different and no one in my family or my friends approve, because of a cryptic dream about a spinning arrow

  • @amazingannie7 "... a handsome sturdy husband who builts handsome sturdy walls, and never dreams that something might be coming". That's the thing, when you don't connect with somebody, what differents does it make if you father approves of him, or if he is handsome? She's a dreamer, she needs somebody a little less down-to-earth than Cocum (and frankly, how the fuck could any girl cope with a guy that NEVER smiles??? ) On the running-with-the-stranger part, I'm with you though.

  • She has the most amazibg voice, especially in Colors of the Wind. That's prob one of the best disney princess voices there is.

  • My racoon!

  • I am a free-spirited person like Pocahontas.

  • No lie, kocoum was hot.

  • Most historically accurate Disney movie of all time (/sarcasm). Still love this movie.

  • should I marry Kocoum?

  • beautiful voice

  • :D I love every single thing about this movie but the story line. It just seems like it's kinda thrown together. But the animation, characters(most anyway), backgrounds, and other stuff is great but I just don't like the way they made the story. :) No hard feelings, Disney still makes great movies.

  • she has my favorite voice of any Disney princess

  • A song of epic proportions.

  • 1:36 AWW RACOON

  • Give me a like for DISNEY LOVERS! <333333333

  • I fucking love that raccoon.

  • @MorningDisturbance23 what i love most about this comment is u swear ... about a disney movie :D

  • If there was a musical number right around every bend, you'd bet that I'd use my canoe far more often. It's nothing like a rousing musical number to scare away the fish I never had a chance of catching.

  • i remember that after i saw this movie, my love for raccoons blossomed. this wasn't always a good thing though, considering i was convinced all raccoons were cuddly, hilarious, clumsy things that would make the perfect pets.

my parents had their hands full most of the time.

  • 0:09 scared the crap out of me

I've seen this movie what, 20 times?

  • don't try this at home, kids.

  • I loved this game on Sega Genesis...

  • I always thought it was Just around the Riverbed.

  • @DrawingsOfNamine your not the only one xD

  • 1:59 SHE COULDVE SAID DONE AND GOTTEN AWAY WITH A RYME!!!!! beutiful song though

  • On a slightly related note... there are two hummingbirds feeders at my house and currently around 8-10 hummingbirds fighting and feeding around them. I've never see a such a sight before, and I wonder if that's why this song suddenly jumped into my head

  • swe didn't have cable for like a year or two when i was like 8 so i got my mom to buy me almost every disney i could think of lol and this was my favourite and Lilo and Stitch, i would watch it over and over again and would know it word for word i could literally act it out i think i ruinedthe movie for everyone because i broke the VHS from watching it so many times lol

  • Great. Now I have to go find a river to sing in.

  • @NillaWafer88 what's wrong with that XD

  • Comment removed

  • @NillaWafer88

I actually sang this while wading through the canal in front of my house. Man, were my fourteen year old nephew and twelve year old niece embarassed when I started the draw a crowd! XD

  • pause at 0:46

  • god i love this woman's voice!

  • When i watched this movie i always told my mom to go buy me a hummingbird friend!! i still want one!!

  • I remember playing this game on the Sega Genesis..... Oh the 90s, how I miss you

  • the six people who hate this should kill themselves.hahaha

    depressed motherfuckers.

    lighten up faggots

  • @xcalibur4l I don't even know how to say how much was wrong with your comment.

    1) You should *NEVER* suggest that somebody should kill themselves. Ever.

    2) Just because they don't like this song, doesn't mean that they are a "depressed motherf*ker." Plus, namecalling is sooooo 6th grade.

    3) Do not use the word faggot. There are many people who take offense to that word, myself included. There have been cases where people have comited suicide because of that word. Not that I expect you to care.

  • @frightenedwhispers u are right. point taken

  • She makes me love life <333

  • 0:55 what a sweet face. x) *swoons a little*

  • cool she's not scared of dieing by a waterfall

  • why oh why are films from the 90s and 80s so beautiful and nostalgic. Pocahontas, The Lion King, Mrs Doubtfire, Jack Frost, Thumbelina oh man I have nostalgia pains.

  • Milan has Mushy and cricket. Pocahontas has the raccon. Jasmine has the tiger. Cinderalla has her mice. Snow white has the whole Damn forest. Lol what's up with Disney and animals?

  • @AhhSeanTea i know right???? well...they started off with Mickey Mouse and the gang, so maybe it's a running gag sort of?

  • I've had this freakin song in my head for a week. Thought listening to it would help....I was wrong.

  • why cant disney movies today be beutiful like the old ones we grew up with..i miss beuty and the beast and hercules and pocahontas. they all had meaning and a wounderful moral

  • @animesweatpea

Sadly, people don't look for the morals of the movie. They want 'entertainment' which I think I get more from he old disney movies (: I lovee classic disney movies, they ere he greatest things ever made!

  • i love Pocahontas!!!! she was my favorite when i was younger, her and Mulan, out of all the princesses. like if you agree that she is/was your favorite!!! :D

  • Every time I watch this movie I always enjoy seeing the racon

  • is she saying river bend or river ban?

  • @nerdycat22 river bend

  • @nerdycat22 it is called just around the river bend, what do you think?

  • I always sing this song when I go kayaking. Of course I go at about 2 miles an hour but the thrill is still there ;) It's in the music.

If you miss music that's inspirational, joyful, and positive, visit my channel and we'll do something about it.

  • Sturdy canoe.

  • I'm gonna go canoe down a waterfall with a racoon

  • lol if you pause at the right moment 0:10 the reflection of pocahontas' face! XD

  • @yokoraitashi Bahahaha that's brilliant! XD

  • Really you people are retarded. 90's kid or not you love the movie. I thought we were here to enjoy the song. No matter the year you were born you grew up loving it. I swear those of you arguing about damn 90's kid shit are stupid and cause me to worry about how you get around in life.

  • LAWL EVERY ONE STFU :DD

  • Can we please stop fighting?

  • It seems that the beginning and ending of this song ripped off Over The Rainbow (the "where troubles melt like lemondrops" part).

  • i love the psychotic look on her face at 1:21

  • I love this song! It will never get old!

  • @blu3vibration don't take this shit so seariously

  • I wish people would stop taking Disney movies so seriously. IT WAS MADE FOR CHILDREN! I don't think they put any thought into what was historically correct or what's considered racist. Children don't need to be subjected to that. They just want to see characters of all colours, shapes and sizes, lot's of animals, pretty colours and happy endings. My childhood consisted of Disney movies and I'm so tolerant of race, religion and sexuality. I am because my parents taught me to be.

  • @halfpixieman I don't think children want just pretty colours, cute animals and happy endings. I think they want admirable characters - brave, kind, free, loyal, and they want an end that feels right - a kind of catharsis. If you think about it, Pokahontas doesn't have a happy end. They want good stories. But it's true that they don't care for "politically correct" or "historically accurate". They get into the story, rather than examine it from outside.

  • @Galastel You're right about the kind of characters children should be watching in movies - the kind, brave, free, loyal ones always speak out to them and make them strive to be so subconsciously in a way. Pocahontas had a very sad, 'what's going to happen now?' kind of ending but the meaning of the story was to show children that you can get along no matter who you are religiously or ethnically without violence. It was my fave Disney movie of all, Pocahontas was the best Disney character to me.

  • @halfpixieman

Not teaching children accurate history from the get-go is how we end up with adults who think slavery was the only cause of the Civil War and that Columbus was the first person to "discover America" was a really great guy (not). Sugar-coating history does a disservice to those who lived thorugh it, both those who suffered and those who triumped. Those who know only half-truths about their history are doomed to repeat the horrors, having not learned from the past.

  • @monny287 I agree with you however the ages of children watching this movie are probably between 2 to about 6. I didn't take much of history seriously at that age, I knew nothing about it . In secondary school history became a very important subject. It's vital not to sugarcoat it because of what you have mentioned - I am well aware of all those things you have said (I'm not even American) and much more even if I watched Pocahontas and various other historically incorrect children's animations.

  • @halfpixieman true i thumbs up this but still this was somebody's life once and they have to be somewhat correct if theyre going to do hisotrical fiction movies and today's disney movies just arent as good at all

  • @RobynJames621 You're right we should respect people's history, there probably are books about Pocahontas' real life anyway. Most movies are historically incorrect, like 300. They want to make it look epic and appeal to an audience. They also don't want to depress or scare people, especially kids. Even a fictional story like The Little Mermaid, with which she actually killed herself was changed by Disney to be less distressing for children. It really is a strange subject isn't it? :P

  • @RobynJames621 dude its a dinsey movie shut up and deal with it. you act as if they made her naked or something like that. when you make your own movie studio and decide what movie to make or beter yet, kill yourself, go to heaaven, and ask dinsey why pochanntas is a in the movie. but for not SHUT UP and enjoy the movie or just dont watch it at all but the main point is to stopp bitching

  • I am a 90s kid and I remember the first time I saw this film I fell completely in love with it and the songs...I'm 17 now and I still love it

  • why isnt Pocahontas an iconic princess like Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, etc. this isnt fair :/

  • @TheFlightlessRaven not to start any arguements, but a teacher once told me that disney is subliminally racist. thats why majority of the iconic disney princesses aren't of any races that aren't those of your typical european or american variety. it wasn't until later that they tried to make up for it by creating mulan, jasmine, pocahontas and tiana. when it all comes down to it, does it really matter?

  • @tyneedancer1993 Subliminally racist? They ignored the story of an already married woman who was imprisoned until she "agreed" to marry her captor, John Rolfe, and used a discounted romantic tall-tale concocted by John Smith that would have chronologically taken place when she was twelve years old. To top it off, they made her original, native husband (the real "Pocahontas" was married to Kocuum) into a cock-blocking walking stereotype of "stoic" nativeness.

  • @blu3vibration i dont disagree.....they're still racist today...not many people can see it and that is why i refuse to watch that channel. always have and always will

  • @blu3vibration i think that the stoic nativeness is the best about Native americans like me and my family, you ever see a native smile?

  • @tyneedancer1993 you know disney started in the 1920s, people were racist back in those days, its not exactly their fault that at that point in time, if they had made a movie like pocahontas, mulan, aladdin or the princess and the frog they woulda gotten in major shit...besides the racism, back in the early days it took 3 to 5 years to produce a single film, the disney brothers were crazy shit man 0.0

  • I remember when i was like 6 I saw this in the theatre and used to belt the songs out. I would never do that now lol!

  • Mmy favotite song ever i love pocahontas she is my favorite princess

  • @151Anastacia YEs !

  • do you still wait for me dream giver, just around the river bend?

omg I love this song so much. <3

(kocoum is absolutely gorgeous if I were Pocahontas I would choose him in a second. XD)

  • i love being a kid in the 90's (i'm was born in 1989) because all the good songs and good movies were on during the 90's and early 2000's

  • @MsDarknessofthemoon 1989 is not the 90's so ur not a 90's kid

  • @xmochi66x tech, i am a 90's kid because i was born at the tail end of 89, the 90's were my childhood ok so dont tell me that i'm not a 90's kid because i am

  • @xmochi66x i am a 90,s kid because i'm born in 1998

  • @xmochi66x actually your a 90s kid if you were a KID in the 90s

  • Songs like this make me proud to be born in '96 (:

  • Do you remember wanting to run through the plains of Africa with Simba? Swing through the jungle with Tarzan? Go to the enchanted castle with Belle? Go to the ball with Cinderella? Ride a magic carpet with Aladdin? Save China with Mulan?Shrink to toy size to play with Buzz and Woody? Turn into mer-people and go under the sea with Ariel?

If you do want Disney to bring back movies like this re-post this comment maybe the Disney Corporation will see it and get their heads on straight
