  • the outfield, great song my friends, god bless you x ever x share with all the world your music, good memories from my youth.

  • I never realized that JOHN RAMBO was their drummer. He really looks like Sly at 1:55 point in video.

  • Great Tune - The Outfield are one of the most under-rated bands of the 80's = they had some great songs and even have some cool tunes on their most recent release in 2011. Always bring back great memories of a much simplier time.

  • What a wonderful time of life!

  • This video was shot at the Mountain Aire concert at Angel's Camp in Calaveras, California during the summer of '86...I was fortunate enough to have been there...and this song still kicks ass

  • I remember coming home from High School in the 80's to see what new music videos were on MTV. Wish I could do it all over again!

  • I was 18 in 85 and wish I could have been there to see them! Awesome times!

  • every time i hear this i cry and that special person in my life

  • Takes me back to a time when bands knew how to create great rock ballads. Nothing to even compare to it coming from the music industry of today.

  • Filmed in the Andrew's Amphitheater in Honolulu Hawaii.... I was there, it was a great show!

  • WOW,WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG

  • great song. Is it me or does the drummer look a lot like rambo form first blood (sylvester stylone)

  • I can't turn this up loud enough!

  • what a nice music........

  • Man what a fantastic song from a true golden age of music. Always thought the lead singer had a more than passing resemblance to Paul Rogers (Bad Co.)

  • holy white nut huggers haha love this music

  • we hate u modern music we love u 80's music

  • @imacadventurequest hell yea 80s all the way!!!!!!!!!1

  • I sooo remember the 'good times' when music actually spoke of things everyone was in tune with! This brings me back to the BIG boomboxes, you could actually put in a cassette and listen to every song and sing them word for word! LOVE IT!!!

  • Too bad I wasn't born when good music was around! :(

  • Really nice tune....me too @jimmydempsy

  • @Maxx61...I second that

  • To all those with their finger toys and thumb bongos...the magic tablets and instant validations through internet feeds....if you think you're having more fun today than the people in this crowd, you're wrong. Back in those days, when you fell for a woman hard...you told her face to face...not through a text msg. Now go and man up.

  • @Maxx61 very well said - i agree 200% !

  • paula jo i love u still after 20 years

  • Not a single mobile phone. Those days there was such a beautiful purity in experiences.

  • I was there when they taped the video at the Andrews Ampitheater on the campus of the University of Hawaii. Great song, great album.:)

  • evrytime i hear an 80s tune i wish the lord jesus would come back because there wont be another decade like it.these fu--ing politicians are bringing us to the end quick.so i turn on the projector crank up the behringer 3000 and watch 6ft tall videos with a bottle of scotch a pack of smokes and cold busweisers and all that crap on the news dissappears for 6 hrs !!!

  • RIP today muisc for me >:D hello 80 muisc :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

  • These guys and a band called Zebra. Both are legendary among other bands. Both were mostly missed by the general public.I've long gotten past letting commercial interests push music on me. I appreciate music too much to punish myself and ignore these really great bands.ASIA released a new album last year: Omega. Its brilliant. Foreigner is touring the US, I saw them live a year ago.WOW, it was good. Many of these bands are still out there, you just have to look to find them.Class of 84 RULES!

  • @kevingthompson13

Love those bands back then and still do. Nice to slam all that music on a thumb drive nowadays and pop it in your car's usb plug and just enjoy.

  • @fotoflik I can do you one better, beause I personally know so any bands I started an artist support channel: TOTALLY MUSIC/ARTIST CHANNEL. I got playlists from the 70s (oldshool), the 60s (groovy) and more new stuff than probably anybody. Bands are using the playlists for radio stations, thats cool. AND I have over 180 bands as official friends. check out out. Its a channel for us, instead of the corporations.

  • Definitely not an actual live recording...Sounds exactly like the album...echo and all which wouldnt be the same live. Still a great song...Brings back memories.

  • drummer man is a stud.

  • my dad used to love these guys back when i was little :) i used to sing along to this song when i was 5 :D aww memories

  • coincido , una pena era un pedazo de grupo, lastima que no perduro en el tiempo, como varios de esa epoca, aun asi me sigue encantando su musica.

  • OK...who knows the make of Drums the Outfields Drummer uses in this set. The sound is so rich and full coming off the Toms.

  • @talyonmaximus I think a big part of the sound lays in the way its mixed during recording.

  • WOW,HES SO AWESOME ,I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS GROUP,AND THEY ARE SO GOOD,,THIS SONG TOUCHED MY SOUL

  • Drummer Stick-Twirl at 3:12.....LOL!

  • Drummer Stick-Twirl at 3:12.....LOL!

  • Yea this was filmed at Andrews AmphiTheatre on the Grounds of the University Of Hawaii, l was at this concert, l got in for free, we all snuck ...in, great night!

  • Excellent! Real Music!

  • TAMPA FAIRGROUNDS 1985....I was there but stoned out of my mind!!! Good times!

  • Im more of a metal person but god damn. This guy's voice is beautiful.

  • Steve Perry's equal.

  • Directed by David Fincher, no less

  • Listening to these guys almost makes me cry with happiness. What an awesome band! How were they not superstars? And by the way, the keyboardist in all the original videos, Reg Webb, is one of the nicest guys in the world

  • Great times!

  • fuck vevo

  • WOW...for the past four minutes i was 15 all over again!

  • about one of the greates bands to hit the earth!

  • this is not good music this is the best music god bless the Awsome 80's

  • sly stallone on drums!

  • I remember when mullets were fresh and spandex was HOT. Somehow it doesn't seem so long ago.

  • The 80's WERE magical !!!!!!

  • Revisiting teen angst! ;)

  • I agree, they were very underrated, and yes a very good voice. Me and the fiance dug out the old cassette from the play deep album and jammed last night. I am gonna try and find it on cd.

  • The romantic touches in the video really do a good job of showing what it was like to be young in the 80's and having music like this as the backdrop in your teenage life. Just magical...

  • Not a great chorus...IMO. The verse strikes me as a good deal better than the chorus.

  • Great song, great band, terrible video.

  • @XDrummerSteve Steve you talking about the one where it looks like the videographer was drunk. lol Yeah, that sucked for the guys, for sure!

  • saw them with journey in 86 great concert..

  • @zeppfan1999 ohh would I have loved that bet it was classic..btw, Zeppelin is my fave band of all time..have a German Shepard named Zeppelin :)

  • i m born in 90's but i love 80's band

    lady gaga and jb suck

  • If I could I would make a movie about me and my girl using Outfield as soundtrack- it suits so perfectly.

  • This video was shot for MTV in 1986 @ the University Of Hawaii campus outdoors. Stood in the 2nd row, standing room only. It took about 5 takes to shoot this video, enjoyed every take. What a great concert, they sounded just like the record on every song. Glad I could be part of this.

  • @hoodagood1 Cool memory. Did you catch yourself... did the camera catch you, or any of your friends... in the audience? I'm sure you've look!

  • @hoodagood1 I remember MTV saying that this was filmed at Uof H when they played it. I was working at Millers Outpost then in Northern Cal. I remember being at a party with a girlfriend and this was playing on the TV. Good times back then. You could go to concerts like this and not have to worry about gang crap or someone having a gun. Just a lot of fun without having to look "Hard". Great memories.

  • @hoodagood1

    was there also..

  • i love this song!!!!!!!!!! is great!!!!!!

  • How can you NOT support someone who plays their heart out?

  • Tony lewis is totally awsome!!! he sings good but he sounds like something´s stuck in he´s nose

  • 1985 DES MOINES IOWA GOING FOR A SPEEDSKATING NATIONAL WIN....AHHHH MEMORIES

  • Hell I was at spring weekend Uconn, someone blasted Your Love, the mob of thousands absolutely erupted, Outfield songs can still rock a crowd up here.

  • ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG. I AM IN A PASSIONATE LOVE RELATIONSHIP AND IT'S BEEN ONLY 9 MONTHS AND THIS SONG IS SO PERFECT. IT MAKES ME THINK OF HIM SO MUCH. I REMEMBER THE SONG BUT FOR SOME REASON, NOT THE BAND. I GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL IN 1981 AND THIS WAS THE MUSIC I LISTENED TO. LOVE THE 80'S!

  • was at this concert...they shot the video here in hawaii...@ UH

  • Awesome.

  • at kacres1...your right..."what happend to bands like these" I still write and record music like this. I LOVE the sounds of the 80's. This vid and song rocks!!!

  • this was one of my favorite "Outfield' songs!! Well sung, well written - just had a very good vibe - what happened to bands like these?

  • This one is not only my favorite song by them, it's also one of my all-time favorite rock ballads. It's awesome. It's haunting. Its lyrics are something which pretty much every person in the world can relate to.

  • You're a great band...I love this song...thumbs up...and a jillion stars! :D

  • 80s master piece

  • I agree that they were one of the most underrated bands of that era. They had great composition and vocals with a Beatles flavor and Police (Andy Summers) sound yet they own their songs. No two songs sound the same and great musicianship. Their songs are catchy without being pop... they are fun to listen to and yet stir different emotions that we've all been through. What a great band!

  • Well said

  • so so so many memories...very cool

  • Is the extra guitarist in this clip Rick Wills who performed in FOREIGNER for so many years? There is only a brief shot of his face but sure looks like him?

Great clip and glad they are making a new CD now that John's health is better. Hope they tour and hit the ATL!

  • Miss the 80's. Definitely.
