This proposed CDL law change proposed to agriculture is one more example of government over reaction. Yes. Accidents are tragic but they are just that "accidents" It's a tough world out there and the last thing we need is more regulation.
To all of the farmers in the USA....This is a heads up, the FED's are trying to pass a bill or law that will require all farmers to get a CDL licence to operate farm equipment...Also you will be required to keep records and maintain your machinery to what is required on truck drivers....Equipment will also be subjet to inspections....Research it....The CDL may also be enforced to anyone one who has any type of an RV or pulls any type of trailer....
@HEADBANGBALLER Depends on point of view...I think you have to be 18 for a CDL...No more kids under 18 running farm equipment...Of course repairs and upgrades to farm machinery, not to mention all of the old stuff that would have to meet the EPA rules on diesel engines, money money money...How would you like to be forced to have a CDL to pull your lawmower on a tiny trailer ??? This is one of those good or bad things, just depends on the side of the fence you are on....
Yeah, I can see your point. I can imagine many farmers getting up in arms about this. After all, many depend on thier 16 year old as "free" labor, and the old farmer creed "if it aint broke don't mess with it" will suffer. On the other hand, how many fingers and hands will be saved by forcing the farmers to put that chain guard back on that's "in the way" of quick adjustment. Two sides to every coin.
@HEADBANGBALLER Talk about accidents...In a nearby grain elevator they were unloading a grain truck and the board just above an auger broke and the young kid fell into it and his buddy tried to pull him out and he fell in...They are alive, but one kid lost everything from the belly button down and the other lost a leg and they might have had to remove the other...The metal grade was not in place and the kill switch did not work...They did not have enough workers comp...
@avionicswirenut You know, if new legislation prevents even one accident like that, then it is worth it. How can you place a price tag on a kids arms or legs, maybe even his life? Tragic.
@iwanaGoFast2010 Look it up.....Auger accident Kremlin Oklahoma 2011.....Might be under grain elevator accident Kremlin Oklahoma 2011......I think it was in July or August.....The kid that lost everything bellow his belly button is alive but being kept in a coma and that was what I heard a month ago....They have been doing fund raisers in the local area to help pay some of the bills...
@iwanaGoFast2010 You have to specify some days.....I read an article recently that the feds were possibly going to push a bill through that would require farmers to hava a CDL...I do not remember the bill number....This bill might also be pushed onto anyone who pulls any size of trailer..Included would be RV or big coaches and your small trailer for your lawn mower...Have not seen anymore in the last month...I guess Europe already has this type of law for their farmers..
@Rakerman102 You do have to make some adjustments to the chaffer and sieve so that your grain does not fly out the back with the chaff otherwise it is not very complicated.
i like the tracked cart. we run about the same we just got a 7010 last year with a 35 ft. draper. and a 335 mx with a 1050 jm grainstorm cart no tracks though.

the combine holds 330 bushels on the books but you can keep piling until it runs off so 3 dumps from a combine will fill up a 1000 bushel hopper bottom
uhhh maybe they cant afford anything more than what they have??? you dont even make any sense: "all that stupid driving on the field destroy the field and burns diesel!" sooo how are you supposed to harvest crops if you cant drice on the field, or burn diesel? HAHA. oh and if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all.
@tod3k, i will punch you in the throat, nobody uses the metric system over here. im canadian, and i have no idea what 12,5 tons would look like on a combine. get it right, bushels/acre, not tons/hectare. and quit bad mouthing videos before i get on a boat and bad mouth your own farm in person

U would have some problems if u were cutting rice. they wont last no time in rice and ur redoing every auger and elevator on the rig, they dont make the metal tough enough on em. it all needs to be stainless steel. nice opperation and good looking equipment though
do you like the tracks on the grain cart? i think they would be awesome for corn stalks and bean stubble but the owner doesn't think so. what do you think?
Great vid, but is there something wrong with the button that closes your unloading augar?? having leant the hard way yrs ago pressing that button is a lot better than hrs fixing a bent tube lol

lorider444 2 years ago
thank you!
mhsrule 2 years ago
You should learn :-)
12,5 ton is approx 12500kg times 2= 25000 pounds.
Sooner or later you will change to metric!
Happy new year
tod3k 2 years ago
its simple. 1 ton = 2000 pounds.
12.5tons x 2000 =25000
25000 divided by a bushel of corn witch is 58lbs i believe and u come up with 431bushels.
12.5tons= 431bushels.
1ton of corn is 34 bushels. and you can do the same for beans but one bushel of beans weighs 60lbs.
kyler309 1 year ago
i'm very familiar with conversions, 1 ton is equal to 2204 lbs actually. i m making a statement that noone around here cares about the metric system
lorider444 1 year ago
i think a standard ton is 2000lbs and a metric ton is 2204lbs and a gross ton is 2240lbs. you shouldn't be so closed minded.
kyler309 1 year ago
@tod3k , you do it your way we'll do it ours. Maybe I should ask why your able to do it your way? Oh yeah, I forgot... It's that in-efficient U.S. military SUPERPOWER that keeps you free. Silly me.

Like most of my fellow Danes I have the deepest respect for USA and the US effort to help the world....
