  • I really dont this man,I love bunnies sooo much!!!

  • I really wish that you'd shown us how to save the pelt for later use.

  • i feel sorry for the people who are new to the game and see this video they will take forever to gut and skin my first bunny took me bout 4 or 5 mins prob not even that i think u need to watch a few other vids

  • @badboibrummy its not as if he went as fast as he possibly could lol. it was a great video

  • @Bootcheck89RS yeh but hes showing them to use a knife for the membrane wen all u gotta do it just pull the skin off like a coat im just saying theres much better vids on here tht take like 4-5 mins thts how i learned to do it and i feel sorry for people because he is showing them a really long way of doing it.

  • who doesnt know how to skin a rabbit

  • @runescape6724 The majority of Americas population.

  • you dont know how to sharpen a knife

  • NO wonder your knives wont cut clean... cutting on concrete?

  • I 'll never could do that by myself. Also i don't like they do this right in my face, because i can't hande that cracking bones yuk :(

  • "Nyeh... What's up, doc?"

    *Clicks like*

  • Thanks for sharing. The more you do it the faster you get I have only dressed and skinned a couple of squirrels. Thanks again. My dad was a pro: BANG., twist off the head, gut it in the field, at home he would slip off the coat he cut the feet with the coat. Those old timers 2 minutes flat.

  • Thanks for sharing. The more you do it the faster you get I have only dressed and skinned a couple of squirrels. Thanks again.

  • How to skin and clean a rabbit IN THE WRONG WAY!!! lol

  • Oh my gosh please please use a cutting board next time. This was a pretty nice video except I was cringing like none other when I heard that blade just scrape and smack against the concrete T___T

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA he did bugs bunny with a real rabbit head hahaha

  • Oh dear god... "Don't wanna ruin the knife..." *clank on concrete* uuuuuh makes me cringe.. just cut around the joint and snap it off

just stick your fingers between the skin and meat where you've already cut and push it off

  • Oh dear god... "Don't wanna ruin the knife..." *clank on concrete* uuuuuh makes me cringe.. just cut around the joint and snap it off

  • how much did the rabit cleaning kit cost you?

  • iv got to say the hardest part for me was pulling out its guts.

  • Sur le sol en plus, t'es dégueulasse, ça se fait pas comme ça

  • Please use a cutting board... cutting onto concrete is not a good way to do this.

  • @bigpoppadops agreed...

  • @bigpoppadops your gunna cook it any way so all the bacteria wilk come out off it

  • wouldn't it be easier to skin him first then gut him?

  • Did someone just give you the knife set & a rabbit & say something like , Here you go have fun with it?the skinning & cleaning of a rabbit/hare should at the very most take like 1-2 min or so without having to expose it to any ground... hope you get better at it! happy hunting!

  • i will die of starvation by the time the rabbit is cooked :) nice info dude

  • i laughed so hard when he took the head and was like "whats up doc?" aha

  • For the head, its easiest to just twist it until it snaps. Trust me, its an old trick.

  • ehh... whats up doc?

  • "maybe its global warming..... hahahaha ya rite!" XD i love that part

  • Comment removed

  • Funny, we shoot rabbits all year round. They're a pest! funny video

  • it looks like you are doing it on concrete, you need a good piece of wood or a butch block to save the edges of your blades. but in all nice video

  • hey save those feet they might be lucky. but idk he obviously didnt get away so maybe he aint lucky lol

  • Very informative video. Thank you

  • poor bunny :(

  • few quick tips from a cook here, (my profession) very nice technique for a person that learned it by himself, get a plench so u dont dull up your knife when cutting on stone, secondly u can use ur knife to gut of the feet, just cut between the 2 bones, when u got it skinned let the meat "rest" for like a day in the fridge, (soften up the stiff meat) good luck hunting guys! and thanks for the skinning thing, i never did that before, and now i can do it =D

  • hunting him mith be the hard part , eating him is the best part

  • this is ery interesting, i am just a teenager starting out hunting with slingshots thanks .

  • @followmysteps put the head on a ant hill till its just bone left

  • @85gonefishing Better to bury it. If it's exposed on top of an ant hill very good chance other critters can come by and run off with it.

  • @kepics Neither of those are good plans. Just put it in a bucket of water. It'll rot off the meat, and you can change the water when it gets really dirty.

  • do u live i wisconsin

  • You put "peta" as one of the tags! Someone has a sense of humor! I also noticed "cruel murder". Lol.

  • But Global Warming and Santa Claus are REAL!

  • Nice video dude

  • Nice Video I wached this to learn how to skin a rabit as i am going to be working as a gamekeeper at weekends and in my school hollidays and when i leav i will hopefully get to do it full time.

Also the knife set you have there did you buy that of the web or from a store if so wich one 1 they could come in handy when i am working

  • @JDS980 wal-mart

  • @kepics my grandpa would totally smack me if i did that ''whats up doc'' thingy.. he would say ''respect the animal who gave his life to you'' dont play with it''

  • @fkelly84 My grandfather would never smack me. We have too much respect for each other as human beings and as family. I'm sorry you've experienced such brutal domestic violence. If you want I can put you in touch with some family therapy groups and family abuse counselors. My prayers will be with you....

  • @kepics lol its okay and thank you for your concern!... save your prayers for the lovely gifts that mother nature gave you despite your disrespect for them..

  • Great video. The part I that made me cringe the most was the knives on the concrete!! Anyway, I found this video very useful, I definitely learned a lot. It hadn't occurred to me to bring gloves - will definitely do that. I suppose the rest was kinda what I imagined it would be, just good to see how it's done. I'll bring my wonderful sharp cutco knives & scissors, a cutting board, a bucket of water, and ziplock baggies. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Excellent video. Very informative. Honestly, the part that made me cringe the most was the knives against the concrete! I think I'll take a cutting board with me to the field. I wouldn't have thought to bring gloves, so I'm glad to have learned that. Thanks for sharing!

  • I wanted to look up on how to clean a 'pet' rabbit nd though this vid was going to show me but yea this is distrubing

  • thanks this really help me alot

  • my grandad could do a rabbit in now time at all , he used to hang it by the back legs take off th skin and head in one go ,

  • thank you so much for posting this! we learned a lot

  • Make part 3, how to eat it

  • why do you wear golves when guting the rabbit

  • Great video

but i was just wondering if the cement floor damaged any of your knives :/

  • @Chopslord yep, don't do that.

  • dude thanks I made rabbit stew after this

  • just about to say, use a bone saw on those legs or you'll screw up ur knife

  • I'm watching this because my dog caught and killed a rabbit on my property and she wants to eat it.

  • and its pretty bad when it takes you about 20 minutes to gut and skin one rabbit

  • wheres part 3?

  • Save your blade and use a piece of wood if you are living in the bush. Your tools are your means of survival. If you have been watching the other video's in the play list Skills you will see the same steps are used for bigger game. Thank you for posting the video's. If you don't get all the fur off you will be hacking up a fur ball like a cat or built in toilet tissue. L.O.L. I'm glad those aren't my blades. Never the less an excellent video and sincere thanks.

  • good stuff good stuff

  • thanks a lot this was very useful and now i got the jist on how to gut+skin a rabbit.

Next time i go on a survival adventure I'm going to tag me a rabbit with a throwing stick and gut+skin it the way you did.

Thanks again. and gl in future hunts.

  • How could i clean the skull?

Thats what i want to keep, we fed the rest to the dogs.

  • i remember cleaning my first rabbit too... though i didnt get it on vid.

  • eww? lol.

  • 1:09 to 1:12 LOL dude that things head went everywhere lol

  • those posts do not even sharpen the knife......they clean the blade, which end result is a sharper blade. really though why wear gloves at all?

  • mandles, gloves, and sitting on the ground cross legged

  • hey he took off his gloves round of appluase

  • he thinks he is funny

  • It is very apparent you know nothing about processing game! Do you need to take time off work to field dress Large Game?I could dress out a Moose faster than you can skin a rabbit. LMAO

  • @caddis02002 Your right brother, I've seen a cajun coon ass clean a rabbit in about 3 minutes.

  • great job man. im getting into rabbit hunting.

  • I'm pretty sure cutting on a concrete floor isn't so good for your blades?

  • I cannot believe it took him so long. Iw would take him nearly a month to do a deer!

Had to laugh, though at, 'here's the skin, you can use it as a place mat"

  • Are you REALLY doing this on the floor? Go look at "how to skin of a rabbit" by 99990000 to see how to do it with Pizzazz!

  • nice video and funny ha

  • I hope no one ever watches this vid and cleans a rabbit like you have showed them, poor rabbit will be just about cooked with all the time and handling you have done. Its just not the way to clean a rabbit!

  • ha ha ha this dude is funny as hell . whats up dock

  • Christ on a cracker! Someone needs to take the fucking knives away from this guy.

  • *cough* cleaver *cough* *cough* ankles *cough* =P

  • My god man get a cutting board lol

  • funny, informative, and friendly. You put off a vibe like, Im not so much learning how to do this from a stranger but a buddy is just shootin the shit and happens to be cleaning a rabbit.

Hopefully, if I get my first kill this weekend I can remember how to do this. I might have to make a video myself ;)

  • Thanks & Good luck. One important note. Do NOT use a cement floor to cut up your rabbit and also be sure to skin your rabbit first then gut. I now know this....

  • @kepics oh finally he learns the true way to do it now, i stand corrected haha

  • I would have skinned it hanging up so the fur is really nice, but you obviously not into furs so what you do is fine I suppose.

  • You really need to invest in a decent sized wooden butchers block...the sound of your knives grating on the concrete floor makes me cringe :O

I have to say though, I'm not a hunter, and I'm looking into small game hunting for food to help with the cost of meat these days, and I loved the video, I'm a woodsman at heart and respecting where your food comes from is #1 for me.

  • look up how to gut and skin a rabbit it should be by markgameforanythign or somtin but there is an easerier way

  • i have to go to a camp over the summer and the give you a knife, scissors, and if you have a gun at you house you can bring that and they give you a tent and you have to catch you own food.thats how you survive.

  • What camp is that???

  • that's morbid lol

  • hahahahaha man 1:25 was epic man your my idol

  • why wouldent u use a bord to cut it on so your not grinding your knifes on the concrete and bluntining them

  • lol 1:25

  • wouldn't it be easier to skin it before cutting it open?... just asking im no expert lol

  • probably.

  • i dont think so

cause the guts make it fatter and harder to grip

when u gut them like u said earlier done in the field

so after gutting it the skin (yeah that was moorbid with the head) umm

    where was i ohh

umm when u skin it with the guts out u can grip it better and should make skinning it with a good grip and i think you should start with the back legs with skinning it

just ring the leg or cut it and just peel it off

or watch the sambowiki skinning technique

  • @kepics and all that bullshit knife set haha you dont need to all you need is one good sharp knife, ppl and the junk tehy carry with them today fucking useless stuff

  • yes trust me but u still hav to cut off the head and paws first

  • cook it any way you like just like you would a chicken

  • the scissors you use there have a round place at the back of the blade, try using that to remove the feet. i think thats what its made that way for.

  • Oh man! Get the gloves on to be sterile and then you do the job on what looks like a slab of dirty concrete!! LOL! You could hear the clever grinding on the concrete! A table and board next time.

  • I have hunted tons of deer in my life but never rabbits. I just got a new slingshot and some metal pellets and i have been target practicing and stuff. But I dont know if I can skin it and field dress it like a deer.

  • 10 x easier than deer. i'm much better at it now. can be done in about 5 minutes...

  • @kepics looks more like a gut shot too all that greeen stomach shit all over in its pelt

  • i hunt deer and i notice how u hav trouble with taking the head and feet off

use a hammer with the cleaver

    or use some hedge trimmers

    ps

    reply to the account: chipyboy10

    this is my moms acc

  • when he said "you can keep the pelts if youre into that" i thought he said "you can keep the 'pellets' if youre into that" which completely changed the video until i realized it

  • thanks. nice video

  • lol, Ehh Whats up doc! ...that was terrible lol

  • thanks for the video! what distance did you make the shot?!

  • 97 11 years ago

  • 2:09 haha its november first '97!!!

  • I think there is way to much nice music, mess and the concrete floor dude what the heck are you doing. Are you going to make keychains out of the rabbits feet.

  • Rabbits are really easy to hunt... At least in my area.

You can come withing 5 meters of them and they will stand there...

  • yup 4-5 metres , their not dumb they know how close to let a predator get cause they can almost always outrun it., they just dont expect a bullet in their brain..not so easy in the winter in the snow when their white.!you can come within 5 FEET and you prob wont even see them.

  • Lol, well now they will expect a bullet in their brain :P

  • For the flipping moron saying that there is no such thing as a .22 cal pellet gun I have news for you....Pellet guns are made in all calibers up to .50 cal.

  • your right

  • So, does this mean that my Benjamin Bluestreak in .22 cal pellet is not real? I better put it back in the rack then...hmmm, I always thought it was real.

  • dont be a bitch rip that skin away like a bandaid

  • dont want to mess up your new knife> lol thats a gerber i have 2 and that knife really is not that good of a knife. Gerber is a life time blade. but nice video

  • best to keep it together, pin its back legs and spit roast it......thats how it tastes best m8,

personally i think its best to skin first then gut,

    good vid though!!!

  • how many rabbits for a meal?

  • Depending on the size of the rabbit I would say about 1 & 1/2 rabbits per person. Makes a great stew and is also awesome grilled!!!

  • well i thinkin one that goes 1200 fps its called camo whisper

  • do u think that a gamo air rifle will easily take out a rabbit like that in any spot or will it take more

  • depends on a kind, i prefer a .22cal break barrel pellet rifle.

  • ur a fucking dumb ass theres no such thing as a .22cal pellet rifle.

  • oh and SHUT THE HELL UP. you look stupid beyond words when you said that. and the way you said it. get your facts straight and mabey you can do that.

  • Your a dumbass. Why don't you search something before you post a comment.

Yes a Gamo pellet rifle will work, but it will have to be a well placed shot. A .22 cal works better, but I'm not sure if Gamo produces them. If they make it in the CFX then that would be a better choice since it has a fixed barrel.

  • that there is dumb ass

  • with a pot or pan... hehehe

  • Whats up doc lol PMSL

  • If he had worked for Henry the VIII, he would have got fired.

  • Man seriously put down the scissors and gloves.. you don't need these items just get a knife and make a cut on the back and use your hands for the rest..Then pull the guts out..you try making this look really hard.

  • Wouldn't it be better on your tools to use a cutting board...instead of running the blades on concrete?

    Just saying...

  • Agreed... you will need to sharpen that knife a lot if you are hacking at the rabbit on concrete.

Great video otherwise, I found it very helpful.

  • Thanks for the info, i just shot my first rabbit with a bow and i wanna get another so i can make a hat THANKs

  • If you're making hats, I'll take one...please note that I have an unusually large head.

  • what i usally do is cut the head off cut the feet off and start from neck down and peel the skin off sorta like a pillar from stomach to back and rip down then gut and reach up to the heart pull it out and everything else will fall out :) i might make a video of it when ever i get my new gun gamo extreme :)

  • its true, you could have fit it all into one video, get the cloves first, sharpen the knife first ect, but good video!

  • respect the animals after you kill them

  • Agreed and only shoot to eat!

  • And before.

  • i see a bunch of ppl talkin shit about u, man..but u know wut, i didnt know shit on how to clean game so fuck them cuz u still had some rabbit meat to eat....thanks for the demo

  • fucking awesome i do tha same with gophers and all the small guys good job man

  • the head shouldnt be cut off, it gives the meat a juice texture while your cooking

  • Comment removed

  • right then first off i do love to see other ppls way ov doing this. but first off its a hare not a rabbit second wen ur gutting u shld start from the ribs an work ur way down and all the guts cum out at once if u do it right

  • 0:23 doesnt want to mess up his new knives yet he chops on a cement floor with his cleaver.

  • This guy wears gloves yet cleans this rabbit on the floor....

  • my grandfather the 3rd generation butcher is spinning in his grave at the sound of the cleaver on the concrete.

  • what a mess... this is not the way 2 skin a rabbit. it shouldnt take more than a maximum of 5 min to completely skin it. this is just gory and messy. Check out the video of mark gilchrist on how to skin it... thats the way 2 do it..

  • redneck1342 - Take off the skin DONT WASH IT. Make sure the fur is totally dry and then cover the inside fleshy part with normal table salt, let it sit on a peice of mesh/chicken wire or similar for a day. Then shake of the salt, then again cover it in more table salt and leave it for 2-3 days. By now it should be 100% dry, if not repeat with the salt and leave it until its dry, but the main thing is to keep the fur dry.

  • Thank you, very informitive

  • keep your steel still and move the knife in circular move ments as well as up and down when sharpening(im a chef ;) but gd vid

  • try typing this in your address bar for quick cleaning :

double u double u double u dotmuccdotorgslashmoodslashrab bitslashrabbitcleandotwmv

  • No knife, no guts, takes SECONDS. You'll be kicking yourself for not knowing this sooner lol.

  • good post. You're killing all your blades though bro. I read that you said that this was your first time and your not a pro. That's all well and good. I'm no pro myself. If you would like a faster way check out the post called rabbit killing. It's a bunch of boy scouts skinning and gutting a rabit. Very clean fast and easy.

  • Yeah In Newfoundland you would have 20 of them shot and 5 min each is all they need. Tie them up upside down by the hind legs. Cut around the feet and haul down on the skin. Gut the bugger and your done. Keep your area clean, do not use knives on concrete floor haha. Good post all the same.

  • thank I'v learned alot.... but could you make a video on cleanin the fur so you can hang it up with out it rotting

  • i like the head part thats funny

  • I agree wanamaker44 it actually does help to see a non proffesional do it witch makes it easier to do because you can see the real difficulty thanks alot KEPICS

  • Just a friendly reminder to check the liver for white spots. The spots indicate if the rabbit has any disease. After you pull the skin off, all parts MUST be washed. Good video for someone who learned off of Youtube lol.

  • Hey, great video. I think it's the fact that you are not some professional that makes those who may be doing this soon even more comfortable with the idea. Thank you sooo much.

  • So ends Brer Rabbit....

  • you said you got this rabbit with an air rifle? What type was it like pump , break barrel,Co2?Please comment back>Love the video:)

  • I used a Gamo Sport Hunter model. You don't need to pump it. Just one cock and it's spring powered and ready to shoot. Up to 1200 fps. Check out Gamos website. I'm sure you'll find it and you can learn more.

  • Hey man,

Thanks for putting this up. It was VERY helpful. I'm probably going to go rabbit hunting next month, and I was very curious on how to clean one first, and your video really shed a great deal of light on the subject. Thanks again!!

  • cool...

  • Hey man. Thanks for posting. I don't know any of this stuff, and I'd love to learn.

If you don't mind my saying, it's fairly obvious you're no expert when you did this, but that's cool, it's very instructional. Just don't make out like you're a frontiersman from way back when really you're a computer nerd like the rest of us... ;)

I'm not trying to be a dick. I don't even put myself in front of a camera, cause I get self conscious. Just be yourself man!

    Frontiersman two point oh stylz!
