Unlike a lot of people, i'm kind've on a "middle ground" with music because i'm a fairly young guy. I like alternative rock music from almost all the decades starting from the 60's, including many artist's today, like Coldplay, Radiohead, The Fray, U2 etc. However, E.L.O's work remains some of the best i've ever heard, this band was truly something special
ELO was one of the few bands that I can honestly say provided the sound-track to my youth! I can almost feel the wind in my hair now! (Hell, I can almost feel my HAIR!!!)
ELO is just music, music & music. And if you love music, you love ELO. My kids (13 and 18) love all their songs! They watched the dvd over and over. Me and my son play Mr. Blue Sky on guitar and drums. That's my proof ELO made great music.
Yet another song of my veddy young days... I remember cruising Riverside in a small city in Washington State called Spokane, many years ago. ELO rocks forever!
I heard this song on the radio the other day & have been trying to find it ever since. I've heard it before, but all I had was a few words to go on to try & find it. Took at least three days! Should've know it was by ELO, one of my favorite feel good bands of the 70's & 80's! & I agree with the "Rap Crap" comment; I've called it that for years!
I can't stop listening to this at the moment. I'm really taken with it. Can't believe I've been on this planet for 31 years and not taken any notice. I'm a new ELO fan. Xx
You know, unlike apparently everyone else who frequents the music of yesteryear on YouTube, I actually like both this kind of music and a lot of today's kind of music.
Does an old body good to hear all this great feedback about my favorite group, ELO. First started listening in 1976 and never looked back. Lynne will be known as the greatest composer of the 20th Century!
Listen to that production! With all of the equipment they have today, they still cannot top Jeff Lynne's production on their 1975-1979 output. Turn to stone and the rest of the out of the blue album (including this song) is the best recorded sound ever. Play me something fuller and more detailed than this and I will punch a hole thru my old UA vinyl copy of it.
i really like this song! i only it yesterday for the first time, i was browsing around ethel austins and it was on in the background, so i did that " track ID" thing on my phone and found out this was it. its ace, dead unusual, are their other songs like this? x
good for you mate, you've finally found a brillant band and yes all their songs are pretty good, try 'last train to London' and 'shine a little love' and bollocks to the twat that gave you a thumbs down fuck 'em.
This fantastic song reached #17 in 1978. (U.S., Billboard) The very best of ELO & the '70s! I used to have a promo 45 RPM of this in clear purple vinyl with a yellow label.
colonized by whom? besides, you speak as if britain has never been immigrated to before. were britain not so inundated with various peoples you might actually understand one another on your own island. hm, let's see ~ the romans, picts, normans... how many more? maybe if y'all didn't want an influx of various people you shouldn't have tried to conquer the world. remember, 'the sun never sets on the british empire'? that's cuz god doesn't trust an englishman in the dark, so it's been said.
British history is basically one influx of foreigners after another; Celts, Romans, Angles, Saxons, Picts, Scots, Jutes, Frisians, Vikings, Normans...
It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre. Now more than ever, British voters need to understand that they are being colonised. Unless they act decisively to halt this mass immigration wave, Britain and its thousands of years of culture, history and tradition will be submerged under the immigration invasion.
