  • i would feed his fish to my piranhas lol

  • how did u teach him how to do that trick?

  • The pink thing is the tip of the R2 Fish School feeding wand. When you see the pink, it is releasing food to reward Comet.

  • good job! what is the pink thing u are feeding your fish?

  • lol the other fish is just randomly eating food

  • it would be very devastating for the owner to have precious goldfish die :(

    mine did...

  • LOL @ Braniack's expression as he explains that he's not the brightest fish in the tank at 0:47! Too funny!

  • I wish i had enough time to train a goldfish....... all my goldfish ever would learn was to die... :( all the time I have is to just daily vlog.

  • you lead a sad life my friend

  • i thought it was a dead Trained Goldfish

  • NOT A REAL TRICK .

  • buy it @thinkgeek. com

  • i love brainiac!

  • Can you use a big bubble wand to train your fish to do tricks? just asking cuz i have a comet goldfish. and btw do they sell this kit in stores

  • Can you use a big bubble wand to train your fish to do tricks? just asking cuz i have a comet goldfish

  • my fish i boring and afraid of me some one tell me how to be a friend with a fish

  • omg i started laughing soo hard at 47 seconds omg like "he doesnt really live up to his name" and hes is just wobbling around.....no he doesnt haha but thats funnyyy

  • I am just thinking. What if we train 2 gold fishes to play soccer. One towards right and the other towards left. Then place the football right on the middle. It would be wonderful. We already know, gold fishes are competitive when it comes to food. So that would be one hell of a competition.

  • Hi :D I just got my 1st goldfish in about 4 years today, and I was hoping he'd learn some tricks just like urs! :D Great job, u have awesome fish!!!!

  • comet looks like my fish zues!

  • i got this kit for my birthday, and my fish goldie can already do tunnel and chimney, but i cant seem to get him to do soccer. how did u train comet soccer?

  • @JelloEel Use the feeding wand to lure Goldie close to the ball at first. Then only reward him with food when he touches the ball, moves the ball, moves the ball in the right direction, and eventually, pushes the ball into the goal. Its all a matter of reward small steps in the direction of the ultimate behavior you are after.

    Good luck!

  • can an oscar or red belly pacu do these tricks

  • I've trained oscars (see some of my other videos) and I don't see why a pacu couldn't also learn tricks. Give it a try!

    --Dean

  • What is he using for a food reward? I think my fish are more than smart enough to learn tricks. :)

  • Tiny Hikari pellets.

    --Dean

  • Thanks! I love these vids. One last question- does the R2 fish school or Comet have a Facebook page?

  • @PelousiE he's a scientist idiot

  • cute fishies(:! i have two also, in a very similar sized tank. their named tigger and pooh. are there any tips you have to make them live long? you seem to have good experience with fish so just wondering.

  • Dean, this is amazing, I'm going to try some of your techniques.

  • aww! that's cute! your a nice fish owner! ^_^ I wish my gold fish would do that, but they are like half the size of comet and brainiac :(

  • Where do you get the training rod

  • The training wand is from R2 Fish School. Check out the video description for the link.

    --Dean

  • omg thats well good :) ' xxx

  • He's like a dolphin, thats sooo cute

  • i'll reveale how this trick is done.the key is food.you get what ever you want them to play with, take some of their food, and feed it to them after they do what you want them to do.adventually they'll get get that when they do what you want them to do they'll keep doing it for food.nothing more.(this only works for smart fish like cichlids).im not sure if it'll work with gold fish though...(not trying to spoil the surprise)

  • No-one believes me when I tell them that fish are smart.

  • is it true they have a 3 second memory or do they have good memorys?

  • Yes - do a web search on 'Shark training Pittsburgh' to find the article from the Pittsburgh Tribune article on shark training using similar techniques.

  • Has this method been tested on sharks?

  • Tiny size pellets.

    --Dean

  • wow aswome what kind of food is that ?

  • That was so cute!!! I love goldfish! ♥

  • i have the same fishes.

  • Comment removed

  • tch o ya well my gourmi knows how to swim

  • WOW i watched this on animal planet and you know how you said "if they follow your finger they are smart" well i tried it with my fish girl: Lucy Boy: J.J they both followed... but they won't do tricks Any way nice job!!!

  • How and for how long did you try training Lucy and J.J.? Have you tried using the training kit and instructions we've developed?

    --Dean

  • I have a goldfish and he is scarred of me sometimes is there any way for him to not be scared

  • hai mr dean... i reaalllyy need some information about this for my assignment.. so... how can i contact u???thx.. i reaaly need ur information ^^

  • aaahh, itll be allright

  • Poor oranda can't see where he's going. :P

I have a chocolate oranda named The Floating Dutchman. He can't do much either hahaha!

    Great video.

Comet the Comet. Cre8tive, no? :P

  • Do you train other cold-blooded critters?

  • Lol they're like dogs, they'll do anything for food.

Can you only do this with standard goldfish or can the fancy goldfish do this too?

  • Yes - it works with fancy goldfish too. In fact my previous fish, Albert Einstein, was a fancy goldfish, and he still holds the world record. Check out some of my other videos, which include Albert.

  • that proves that fish dont have a 3 sec memory

  • @jmurray01 its true they actully have a month of memory so if keep training them it wwill never forget :)

  • why does dean randomly tap the desk after he puts the trick things in?

  • Good observation.

What I'm doing is picking up a piece of food on my fingertip to reward Comet once he has done the trick.

    Thanks for asking!

    --Dean

  • lol why dont'cha ask him?? XD

  • nice commets. how do you train commets? i want to be able to train mine.

  • Check out the other comments!

  • Question: Have you attempted to train other species of fish, or are goldfish just the best candidates?

You have to be a scientist to know that this is just the action-reward theory?

This is nature. You do something, you get a reward .

No need to be Dr. Scientist crapshit. to know all this.

  • Of course its easy to give it food after it does the trick. The hard part is getting it to do it for the first time and allowing it to make the connection that if it repeats the action it keeps getting food.

  • @gravityisweak I am amazed how fast my fish has connected his behavior to food and how he looks at me for cue like the hot/cold game.

  • Go comet go! :D

  • h8 it or luv it... nice triks

  • lolz nice healthy, fir goldfish

  • whooot!!

    yea go Comet!! xD

  • i heard about this kit. how much do you sell it at? my father said that you are the one that discovered this. im guessing that you sell it?

  • Hi. Yes, that is me in the video and yes, I invented the pet fish training techniques demonstrated in the video. To learn more, and find out about purchasing the training kit, go to the r2fishschool website.

    Happy fish training!
