No he did not damn near hand him his ass. Was machida limping? well going 5 rounds and getting leg kick yeah I would assume one would limp after. The first 3 rounds were close, every time shogun landed a kick machida landed a punch. Now the 4th and 5th round yes shogun was getting the better of machida. The fight is scored on a round system, so the first 3 rounds were close but the other 2 shogun did win. people are exaggerating the fight saying shogun was owning which is false.

yea thats the only clean shot shogun landed to the face. the low kicks didnt seem to effect machida much and he was still able to move fun, but it seemed he was having problems with shoguns timing and he would angle off into his low kicks. that was the first fight of his i didnt see machida followin his strategy. It was a close fight and they will have a rematch. Seems that most people saw Shogun winning the fight, albeit by a very small margin. Machida still is a great fighter and a very difficult match for anyone, if Shogun beats him he will be beating a great fighter, if he loses then he will lose to a great fighterl. No need to undermine each fighters' achievements...both are champions in their own right.

Not to take anything away from you, but I've trained kyokyshin (not in America) a very long time ago and to get a black belt in that would require many painful years. My sensei told me incredible stories of how much he had to travel and fight in one day to earn a black belt, not to mention the years. Machida had Rua in trouble 3 times throughout the fight. He blocked everyone of Rua's takedown attempts. There is no way that Rua displayed enough of a fight to beat the champ. Was Machida limping from Rua's knees, NO. Bruises don't mean anything.

Rua looked more like the counter fighter. Rua's best weapon was his powerful right roundhouses to Machida's legs; I'll give you that.
Go look again; Rua was in a lot of pain when his trainers held him and put his shirt on at the end.
(1) This was Machida's 5th fight...in 2004. It's like Fedor vs. Arona. Both Fedor and Machida would destroy these opponents now (2) Greco was a HW, much bigger, and had years of kickboxing/K-1 experience. The ring also favored his style (3) Machida has evolved 1000% since then. His counter-game, footwork, timing and power are much better. The current version of Machida would destroy Greco, especially in an octagon.

I'm not sure if you were mocking my answer or if you are inquiring whether or not he is sponsored by the company, but usually only very successful fighters are sponsored and even then not by adidas or nike etc, but rather by no fear, tapout, etc. Those are regulation wrestling shoes or else he would not be allowed to use them, they aren't just a pair of adidas sneakers he bought the day before. Perhaps adidas makes regulation wrestling shoes, it's very possible.
Those are regulation wrestling shoes for grip. They are soft so they add no advantage to kicking. Take downs are often easier with those shoes, but they don't give a definitive advantage.

The first 3 rounds were close, every time shogun landed a kick machida landed a punch. Now the 4th and 5th round yes shogun was getting the better of machida. The fight is scored on a round system, so the first 3 rounds were close but the other 2 shogun did win. people are exaggerating the fight saying shogun was owning which is false.

Of course your not going to limp during the fight, unless your leg is broke that is. I meant Machida is still probably limping to this day, those leg kicks were fucking brutal, way more brutal than any punch Lyoto landed.
But I will always pull for him, one of my top 5 favorite fighters. Just didn't think he showed his all that night, Shogun showed just a lil more. But hey what do I know? lol

yea thats the only clean shot shogun landed to the face. the low kicks didnt seem to effect machida much and he was still able to move fun, but it seemed he was having problems with shoguns timing and he would angle off into his low kicks. that was the first fight of his i didnt see machida followin his strategy. I think they judged on who did more effect damage and i think it was machida barely. but yes it was close and machida wont let that happen again

It was a close fight and they will have a rematch. Seems that most people saw Shogun winning the fight, albeit by a very small margin. Machida still is a great fighter and a very difficult match for anyone, if Shogun beats him he will be beating a great fighter, if he loses then he will lose to a great fighterl. No need to undermine each fighters' achievements...both are champions in their own right.

Silva would be shogun and machida will beat shogun in their rematch. About him being disrespectful... hes probably the most respectful fighter in all of MMA due to his traditional martial art training. His father is a shotokan master. I'm a shorin ryu black belt and believe me respect is #1 in karate training

Hmm, 22 years old and already a black belt? Not to take anything away from you, but I've trained kyokyshin (not in America) a very long time ago and to get a black belt in that would require many painful years. My sensei told me incredible stories of how much he had to travel and fight in one day to earn a black belt, not to mention the years. Maybe it's the difference of the style and overseas qualifications.

Machida had Rua in trouble 3 times throughout the fight. He blocked everyone of Rua's takedown attempts. There is no way that Rua displayed enough of a fight to beat the champ. Was Machida limping from Rua's knees, NO. Bruises don't mean anything.

How many points for knees; also how many power strikes with the knees? Machida landed more strikes overall; he was the only one who threw a combination. It was in the 3rd rd. Rua looked more like the counter fighter. Rua's best weapon was his powerful right roundhouses to Machida's legs; I'll give you that.
Go look again; Rua was in a lot of pain when his trainers held him and put his shirt on at the end.

(1) This was Machida's 5th fight...in 2004. It's like Fedor vs. Arona. Both Fedor and Machida would destroy these opponents now (2) Greco was a HW, much bigger, and had years of kickboxing/K-1 experience. The ring also favored his style (3) Machida has evolved 1000% since then. His counter-game, footwork, timing and power are much better. The current version of Machida would destroy Greco, especially in an octagon.

Machida is a bad ass and honestly I have no thoughts on what the outcome will be on the fight between him and Shogun but I expect Shogun to throw 100% in there. Personally I'm a Shogun fan; I love his Muay Thai, but if Machida wins than it's cool too. I don't hate Machida, I'm just unfamiliar with him. I'm not sure if you were mocking my answer or if you are inquiring whether or not he is sponsored by the company, but usually only very successful fighters are sponsored and even then not by adidas or nike etc, but rather by no fear, tapout, etc. Those are regulation wrestling shoes or else he would not be allowed to use them, they aren't just a pair of adidas sneakers he bought the day before. Perhaps adidas makes regulation wrestling shoes, it's very possible.

Those are regulation wrestling shoes for grip. They are soft so they add no advantage to kicking. Take downs are often easier with those shoes, but they don't give a definitive advantage.

SAM GRECO IS a K1 fighter so of course he is going to have the advantage standing up. He staggered machida twice and that was it. Machida counter over half of kicks that greco threw.
