  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of WTTG-TV's 40 Years Together, Channel 5 And You! Video Promo From 1985.

  • Edited at Century III Teleproductions in Kenmore Square, Boston MA with about ten 1" tape machines and 2-channels of ADO (fill and matte passes required)!

  • The WTTG logo reminds me of KTLA

  • Through much of my early childhood years growing up in Seat Pleasant during the mid to late 80's other than watching ACC football and Basketball on WJLA, I had it on channel 5 for the cartoons every day before and after I went to school and my mother had on channel 5 to catch some of the Redskins Preseason games during the summer, which came on WTTG through the mid and late 80's into the early 90's before WJLA and eventually WUSA and WRC took over in most recent years.

  • i was 1 year old at the time. wow thats a long fuckin time ago.

  • It's the same rhythm and melody as WCVB, but instead of Turning in Together Channel 5 and You, WTTG said "40 Years, together channel 5 and you."

All that was missing was the "And You" theme from Telesound, which WCVB used.

Oh wait, the accompanying news theme was by another Washington station WDVM (now WUSA).

  • WTTG Channel 5 when it Fox and before when it was Fox did show a lot of old school cartoons, shows and movies during the 80's and 90's. Man I miss that channel when I use to live in Herndon and watch the channel now I live in Haughton which is in Bossier and Shreveport and there local stations suck not as good as the stations back in DC

  • Later used by ATN Channel 7 in Sydney for their 30th anniversary.

  • BTW, it's the same jingle as WCVB's "Tuning in" hey, they're Metromedia!!!

  • I remember this well. I used to hate that kid on the hobby horse.

  • What a nice surprise! I haven't seen this in AGES. This clip holds wonderful memories. Given that, it's truly priceless. Thanks for bringing me back in time. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

  • I wonder if the same video animation firm that came up with this, did the opening titles for the 1984-85 season of "Saturday NIght Live."
