  • Terrible port. Super Nintendo version kicks ass, but PS1 version owns.

  • some other differences:

you can air-dash upwards as much as you can in a single jump

arm upgrade isnt working (pink and red charge shoot the same yellow charge shoot)

you can skip the mavericks and go directly to the castle

    there's only one life

at last, the heart tanks ARE in the game, but seems that not all or in other places

  • every ported version fron snes or vise versa looks better on the snes always. it just has better hardware

  • Ok.I KNOW why the genesis version is a crap,it is because Genesis does not support c4,which is used in megaman x2 and megaman x3

  • @Shaunloo2 No, its because this is a god dam pirate game made by non skilled developers who were looking for easy money, is it so hard to understand that?

  • It's kind of a shame there isn't really a Megaman X game for the Genesis. Then again, it'd be kind of hard to Jump/Shoot/Dash at once since it's so often needed and the Genesis controller has the buttons set up Arcade style. Additionally, Capcom wouldn't have done the music any justice. Just listen to Wily Wars. Even though the music would have hands down sounded better than the SNES if the FM Synth/PSG was pushed, Capcom couldn't manage it.

  • Darn Pirates making my Sega look bad!

  • the genesis musick sucks

  • @krassomatenkrass Genesis music is awesome. This is nothing but a pirate.

  • aside from the fact that its supposed to be Pirated, and solo people without access to full equipment don't have quite as good capabilities, why does it sound like 8-Bit?

  • @FatetheHedgehog

What I suspect is that it's kind of hard to directly port music between the two systems because of the differences in sound hardware. In other words, it might take more time to do properly than most pirate programmers actually have or care to. So they half ass it, either converting it poorly or substituting music from different games. Of course, plenty of pirated software is sloppy by nature, but in this case, there might be an extra reason.

  • @dunnono00 that seems likely

  • The Sega version is horrible, lol

  • Sega version sucks...

  • SNES version is the best, psx version is crap!

  • Its WAAAAAAAAY better in the SNES, even if the Sega version is a pirate game...

  • @xBlackxZerox But WAAAAAAAAAY better is the PSX version.

  • i was gonna say this is on Genisis too?! no fucking way until i read the description now it makes sense.

  • not getting to keep the bosses weapon is super lame and takes away a lot of the fun of Mega Man X

  • The Genesis one is so scary.

  • And people have the audacity to call X3 the worst of the snes games. Comparing it to the pirated sega version, the game seems godlike! I think X3 is the most underrated megaman game there is.

  • @PapaLuigi3000 Its definitely my favorite of the three

  • @PapaLuigi3000 X3 is the best of the snes games

  • im out, gonna play it on xsnes :D

  • good greff, what with boot leggers and bad music? cant they at least not make the music sound like a drowning robot cat thing? yeash.

  • x3.. thats how a intro should be.. the snes version i meen ofc.. totally kickass

  • Oh and I failed to mention the fact that it isn't a Sega Genesis game. You shouldn't even label it as that. It is ONLY on an emulator there is no cartridge. So I say again, what is the point? To attempt to make a video game system that is, what, almost 20 years old look bad?

  • You couldn't be more wrong.

In reality, this is a pirated game for the Sega Genesis. Pirated games are illegally produced games that are sold on cartridges, not ROM hacks available for download. While the ROM is available for download, the game was originally sold as a pirated cartridge that can be played using an actual Sega Genesis. In fact, it showed up on eBay just a couple months ago.

  • I'd like to see this cartridge, and I would like to know the "company" that made it. No individual would be able to make a box, instruction manual, cartridge and the whole works in mass, and be able to get it in stores. If someone took a blank cartridge and put the game on it, and only one exists in the world, my point is still pretty much true. If you want to mince meanings, I meant in the fact that the game was not mass marketed like every single other genesis game ever.

  • It seemed like you meant that there was no version of X3 on the Genesis whatsoever, so I pointed out the fact that it exists in the form of pirated software.

If you want to see the game, I suggest going to eBay every now and then and search "Rockman Genesis" or "Rockman Mega Drive".

If there's only one copy in existance, it'd probably never show up on eBay. But like I said in my previous message, the game showed up on eBay two months ago. So, there's probably more than one in existance.

  • @garvensman well, hel-lo mr. smartass!

  • @garvensman - Google "Rockman x3 cart" and taste the harsh kick in the nuts of being proven wrong.

    Fucking smart arses...

  • @super58173: It is NOT A LICENSED PRODUCT. It was NOT DESIGNED BY PEOPLE WHO KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. It DOES NOT REFLECT ON THE ABILITIES OF THE GENESIS.

  • @majesticlizard - NO SHIT, SHERLOCK.

    BUT THE CART STILL EXSISTS.

  • @MegaMan52: It was not a professionally designed game. It was something produced and distributed by pirates as an unlicensed product, so naturally it is vastly inferior the SNES version. A professional company designed Megaman X4 for the SNES. Software pirates in someone's basement in China designed it for the Mega Drive. The comparison is irrational.

  • @majesticlizard Not this crap again. Listen, I'm NOT bashing the Sega Genesis. I'm just showing the Genesis version of Mega Man X3 for those who are interested, and comparing it just to show exactly what all of it's differences are for those who are curious. I'm fully aware that the Genesis is capable of doing better, and that Capcom themselves came out with a better quality product (Mega Man: The Wily Wars).

  • @majesticlizard The comparison is rational. Obviously, they're not the same game, and they're not made by the same people. He's only comparing them because one is trying to imitate the other. With this video series, we can see the similarities and differences between the imitation and the true X3. It shows us what the pirates got right and what they got wrong.

  • @MegaMan52 This game actually exist on the genesis emulator....and boy is it the most horrible pirated game ever. I blame mexicans or whoever did this horrible genesis port....the music and graphics are shit, X is wearing the armor from X1, he can't grip the walls cause he just falls and he can't jump very high. Plus you die once, it goes to password screen...also no health or armor upgrades.

  • Genesis version is a pirated shit!

  • the Genesis version is too boring compared to the SNES and PSX version

  • Super Nintendo version is better comparing to genesis one, i prefer SNES and psx/saturn version.

  • You actually do get to keep the Maverick's weapons. But it isn't that easy to access them. It's down + one or two of the buttons. I can't remember the combination exactly, but the weapons are there.

  • Mac also is a slightly different shade when you fight him in the Sega version.

Anyway, you know, when I played this game, the music was different, but I think the game actually loads different music randomly at each stage, either that or there are different versions of the game out there (as there are with games like DX3).

This game could have worked on the Sega in some form, but it suffered from very lazy piracy, IMHO.
