Nope.  She's been dying it since she was 15. I've heard her say it in interviews (and seen pics.) There's one on youtube somewhere actually, where the interviewer says something like 'how would you feel as a brunette?' And she lifted her hair off her neck, showing her dark roots & said, "Maybe I AM a brunette." lol

I'm not positive but I wanna say it was from the Death Becomes Her era. And I *think* in the same interview they asked her what the difference was between herself & Marilyn Monroe. That's what I'm remembering from it now.

i love this movie to death! its actually heartbreaking but in a heart warming way, not a depressing way, if that makes sense... it wouldn't be the same without meryl - i cant beleive she said she was heavy and plain! i think she looks beautiful!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I'm just now seeing this comment! That makes total sense, I feel the same way. I got the info from a couple books I've read about the making of Bridges and some old magazine articles & interviews. I really read up on it! I can't believe she said that either! I reccomend you read the book if you have not done so. I found the film so very poor compared. You are going to weep. This book has been with me always and i recentely made a discovery but will not share here as i believe not many of you would believe me. Please read the book. It is haunting.

I never understood why i would cry so much by just holding the book on my hands. I felt for this couple like for my own being. Only recently (7 months ago), when reading it again out loud to a friend it all made sense to me. Prior to this reading i met the one love of my life, just like Francesca did, and we were destined to one another. So while reading the book i felt more and more familiar with the feelings they shared, i was lead to believe perhaps they both reincarnated in us.

It may sound delusional but there are things i cannot explain. As i feel more and more in love with the man i am with, and having read the book to him and also bought the book to all my friends, they all seem to agree with me. It is like our love story. And me and Ray of Light, will make sure this time they will be together for eternity. For that is where we are and will always be. With one another.

But please do go for the book. You will not regret. Clint, in my opinion does not match Robert Kincaid in the book, which is disappointing, he is too old, too tall, you will understand if you read the book. The book is so so so intense, and it is a pity the film does not explore the intensity i am talking about. Blessings and good reading!

This is just beautiful, the most romantic film of all time, with Johnny Hartman, the most romantic voice of all time. I agree with all the other comments regarding Clint and Meryl, they were absolutely superb.

this movie was the one that made me a big meryl streep fan.

i first saw her on death becomes her, then devil wears prada, and i knew she was a great actress then, but when i saw this movie, BAM, i'm forever hooked with meryl streep.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Bridges is what made me a big Meryl & Clint fan, too. I liked what I'd seen of them before it too, but it's what really got me following their careers. They're both amazing on their own, and then together in this, it's just like...wow! Best movie ever. :)
